No it would't fit a non-stretched Fiero. This car is stretched 12" and the end of the hatch is only 4" from the back.
A spoiler is in the plans.

If anyone in the Toronto/GTA area has or knows of an 82 - 90 Camaro of Firebird
I need a rear hatch section donor to help with remolding the rear of the car.
edit:I will even come and remove it myself.

Looks *much* cooler with the glass than the wagon top. Fits surprisingly closely, too. If you put a little more time/thought into it, you could make the hinges and back end such that you could run with or without the glass, depending on the weather and your mood. Keep up the good work!

Is the glass going to interfear with ventilation to the engine. i would put a dark tint on the glass and make people have to find out whats under the hood.

the metal overlaps the glass 4inches so you would have a rear deck 1 inch long and no way to latch it shut on a stock Fiero

well I have started to shape the roof pillers to fit the glass and have step by step pics to go along with it here you go
starting with sheet metal I formed molds to make the fiberglass fillers
test fit the peices to make sure they fit well
then covered them with a light glue then with plastic wrap so the fiberglass wont stick
continued

Hi all,
With the drivetrain all done, have you done any driving cuz I am curious as to how she handles opposed to a non stretch fiero....
06:53 PM
bubbajoexxx Member Posts: 1630 From: Ontario Canada Registered: Aug 2003
then removed the filler peices from the molds for trimming
now that i have them it is time to glass them in using a bonding agent then glassing them in solid this is what the glass work looks like befor finishing now retry the glass window to see how well it fits
screws will be removed in 24 hours so every thing cures up good and solid

WOW!!! That's going to look fantastic. But, please tell, how did you make the metal molds? From scratch?

Your creativity amazes me. Let's see. You stretched a notchback, installed a longitudal Northstar, mated it to a Porsche transaxle, and now modding the rear clip to fit a Camaro rear hatch!
OUTSTANDING work!
I can hardly wait to see the finished, painted product!

Awesome work for sure.
Now that youve got the glass on, how will you get air to the filters? won't they be just sucking in engine bay air this way?

I'm glad I didn't know this as I was cruising around the GTA in a multi-colored Half-finished Chop top.
This car of yours is going to be awesome when completed. I would love to see the look on someone's face when they pull up behind you and see that huge Northstar sitting under glass where your back seat would normally be.

can you draw in a small scoop on the bpiller as I plan on putting scoop there to feed cold air into the engine compartment
