WRONG....HA HA...Nosrac is actually closer to a coco almond color than black I would say with maybe just a hint of mocca. I can say though that I agree with what Nosrac/Madcurl with this matter. Zimmerman profiled the kid without a doudt and his action where wrong. I myself think he should be brought in and held on murder charges. Of course this is just my opionion on the subject and like everyone elses opinion will not change a thing.
To take the guess work out of it....I am a white guy.....
If he saw a white kid with tattoos, a piercing, wearing the same clothes, and a shaved head, do you not think he would respond exactly like he did with Trayvon?
Profiling exists for a reason, I'm quite sure he profiled because the kid looked like a thug, not because he was black.

I believe that if Martin had been any other race other than black that this thread would not exist, a belief that has been proven by posts about other incidents involving similar circumstances, and opposite roles, or completely different races of people all together that have been almost completely ignored.

You know Brad, I've come to realize that many of these people on this message board have been drinking the Kool-Aide for a long, long time. They WANT to believe there's rampant racism, it's 2012 for crying out loud! They don't want to think that the kid was profiled because he was a thug, but because he was black. They have fallen into the mindset that they DO think blacks are different. They actually believe what Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton believes, and that is that all black children are victims, that they cannot ever amount to anything, and that they shouldn't even bother to try because the "white man" will keep them down. As long as people continue to believe this, a great portion of our population will continue to be disenfranchised because their vote won't matter, and they WILL be victims.

I agree with you. Even his recorded police call said he only looked black. He had no idea what he was when he first followed him. Add to that, from pics Ive seen that the kid was walking in an unlit area between houses after dark in a hoodie. He couldnt even tell what was in his hands according to him. People like to make you think he was walking down a brite streetlite lit sidewalk beside the street.
the walkway was very public and there were no sidewalks on the road that path was the way home for him the kid was not cutting thru private back yards as some have tryed to spin this but was on the way back to the home he was staying at while talking on the phone I have seen many people talking on a cellphone act strange with odd gestures
the criminal watcher/shooter shows no injury on the cops tapes the voice analysis said the screams were by the kid not the shooter cops suppressed witnesses they felt didNOT support the gunman had the gunman not confronted the kid nothing would have happened
------------------ Question wonder and be wierd are you kind?
The software compared that audio to Zimmerman's voice. It returned a 48 percent match. Owen said to reach a positive match with audio of this quality, he'd expect higher than 90 percent.
I think they are reaching. Why does it match at all? really, just asking because I know diddly about this type of thing, which is what they are hoping I guess.
I can't see a third party voice in the background recording being much to work with.
Yes, I'm Black but what the frack does that have to do with ANYTHING. Dude PLEASE don't make me go there. Getting on your nerves? because in I keep calling out your I'm nothing like Jessie or Al so please don't put me in that camp or I will have to put you in the David Duke and Jim Crowe camp. Don't start none and it wont be none !
I never even considered that you may be black, don’t even care. Though I totally disagree with your assessment of this situation I have to say you really have been nothing but polite in your postings, annoying maybe.
It supposedly did happen on a sidewalk because Zimmerman said he had his head pushed onto it Ray. From the pictures of the scene on the news, it wasnt in backyards, but a dark or at least dimly lit area close to houses where there were no streetlights. Im right on the busiest road in town and if I turn my yard lights out, its pitchblack 50 yards from that street. You cant see 10 feet in front of you unless theres a full moon.
I never even considered that you may be black, don’t even care. Though I totally disagree with your assessment of this situation I have to say you really have been nothing but polite in your postings, annoying maybe.
I think he's just trolling like Madcurl is.
He posts that he agrees with a person, or several persons, then later flips to the complete opposite opinion.
I have said it before I don’t care if you or the kid was black, white, red, yellow or purple. It really is a moot point, unless you are black it seems the only ones who think the shooter was racist are those taking the kids side. Now in the beginning I myself thought it was a racist issue but have changed my mind because of what I have heard in the news that is all we have to go by. And that might change as more info comes out. The police video I have watched sucks are far as if you can see any injuries on Zimmerman, as I have said I had my head pounded on the concrete and never went to the hospital, didn’t need stitches. Maybe I have a hard head who knows, but other than a bump on my head I wasn’t bleeding. The EMTs recommended that Zimmerman go to the hospital, from what we have been told. A recommendation doesn’t mean crap, especially if you have no insurance, and I did but declined myself to go.
Doni has been the only one in this thread who thinks before he posts, other than me and some others. Madcurl, and nosrac are just on the side of the kid no matter how much proof has been shown. Like it or not 48% from the forensic sound guys doesn’t sound like they are sure it was the kid, anything over 50% ya maybe, but who is sure the kid is not at fault? Those of color Except Doni, Now I don’t care about your opinion, everyone is entitled to that but to blindly think because the kid was black that it is a case of racism, are the racists.

I agree that it SHOULDN'T matter what colour Trayvon Martin was or what he was wearing that caused the actions of Zimmerman. We may never know what was truly in his head that evening. The fact that this incident may shed a light on unfairly racially profiling someone is not a bad thing though IMO no matter if it is justified in this particular case or not. Some people ARE profiled and looked at differently because of things like race, dress..etc. that is not something to be ignored and hopefully this case may create valuable dialogue about such things. Why not recognize the extremes of both sides as what they are insteade of assuming all of a certain group actually think the samw as the more radical, how many people do you think are aligning themselves with the "New Black Panthers" for instance?
Is it fair to assume that this was a racial motivated incident? Not in my books but nor is it fair to ASSUME it wasn't.
Profiling and assuming things about others based on their looks, age, dress has been something that is usually learned and often is completely and utterly wrong in my experience.
NBC has revealed that it is launching an internal investigation into the “editing process” surrounding the conversation between George Zimmerman and a police dispatcher (shortly before Trayvon Martin was shot), where Zimmerman appears to volunteer racial information.
Exposed by Fox News and Newsbusters, NBC played the conversation on the “Today Show” as: “This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black.”
The unabridged version is:
Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. Or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about. Dispatcher: OK, and this guy — is he black, white or Hispanic? Zimmerman: He looks black.
Erik Wemple of the Washington Post noted:
The difference between what ‘Today’ put on its air and the actual tape? Complete: In the ‘Today’ version, Zimmerman volunteered that this person ‘looks black,’ a sequence of events that would more readily paint Zimmerman as a racial profiler. In reality’s version, Zimmerman simply answered a question about the race of the person whom he was reporting to the police. Nothing prejudicial at all in responding to such an inquiry. [...] And it’s a falsehood with repercussions. Much of the public discussion over the past week has settled on how conflicting facts and interpretations call into question whether Zimmerman acted justifiably or criminally. That’s a process that’ll continue. But one set of facts in the is ironclad, and that’s the back-and-forth between Zimmerman and the dispatcher. To portray that exchange in a way that wrongs Zimmerman is high editorial malpractice well worthy of the investigation that NBC is now mounting.

I'm really angry about this, but not at all surprised... I wish I was surprised, but I'm not. Why would NBC want to escalate the tension further by doing this???

Not trying to be racist here but I have to wonder just what color the editor was, anyone else?
I mean he could have been a white supremacist or a black man or woman. That just might be an important fact, just as important as what really transpired before the shooting. What ever happened to that kid walking his dog statement? I haven’t heard another word about that and the police aren’t releasing crap lately.
You think Ozzy was more entertaining then Tyson?! Although they both bit something off, both have had wings in their hands, and one threatened to eat the children of others, while another's music was thought to be "the eater of children", Tyson still comes out ahead with his ability to pulverize others with his fists.
And that cartoon voice.....it's Tyson all the way!
Before I go on to make a couple of comments which I believe MIGHT be pertinent I have not judged, decided, or even attempted to; the 'evidence' is simply NOT evidence..not really, IMHO. What I do think might add an amount of clarity as to what Trayvon (can't help thinking of Buddy Holly every time I hear that name... ) might have been' up to ' is this: Was he a 'fish out of water' there? Is the area predominantly wealthy white, middle-class white, mixture of either, or predominantly black? If either of the first 2, one might begin to understand Mr. Zimmerman's doubts as to what he WAS doing there.
How long before Trayvon's parent (either, or both, including potential step-mother) raised the alarm, or reported him absent? If he really HAD just gone out to buy sweets etc, and didn't return within a few minutes, I would have thought they might wonder what took him so long? Unless he made a habit of going out and not returning promptly? How often did he visit his Father's girlfriend's house? If the truth about the timing of his prior visits is forthcoming, it would be very simple to compare those dates to the recorded dates of the reported 'spate of break-ins', and maybe prove one way or the other as to whether he COULD have been responsible for some, or even all of them, and was out once again 'casing' the area?
I must say that I felt a slight sinking feeling to hear that Zimmerman's Father held a responsible, even influential postion in the Legal World (was that locally?). Can't help wondering if some kind of influence could have been brought to bear in Zimmerman's favour, should it have been felt 'neccessary' in keeping Zimmerman out of custody.( Many such 'eminent' figures tend to be members of Masonic Lodges etc...and it wouldn't have been the first time these group members have 'stuck together'... ) I think that is all I have at the moment, to add to the discussion

Just by way of answering one of your points, the development in which the incident occurred is a middle-to-lower middle class "gated community" of mostly condominium units with a "mixed-ethnic" owner population. What percentage of the ownership is whatever ethnic background I don't know. However, the homes average around $100,000 each market value.
EDIT: As I said before and Maryjane has just pointed out again, it's not Beverly Hills.
Hope that helps, Elvis.

Not to be confused with the gated community near where I live (City of Cleveland) that has a pool, a nice rec center, all the extra crap---and it's all mobile homes. "Gated Community" don't always mean 'lifestyles of the rich and infamous'.

I guess it all depends on if the lock is on the inside or the outside.
Zimmermans father was not a factor,he was on T. V. long after the fact Trayvon is a thief & low life,he was caught with burglary tools & stolen merchandise, suppected of many more Trayvon turned around stalked and attack Zimmerman police reports were ""leaked"" because of false anti-Zimmerman information
Unconfirmed ,,liberal D.A.,,they are searching for charge against Zimmerman
TRAYVON WAS A PUNK,JUST ANOTHER THIEF,HAVE YOU EVER BEEN ROBBED???BROKEN INTO??? DO NOT SHED ANY TEARS FOR THIS LOWLIFE DIRTBAG
No man is an island entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main; if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as a manor of thy friends or of thine own were; any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind. And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.
..HITLER ,STALIN,MAO & the murdering Cuban dirtbags who slaughtered & burned alive innocent children in Angola, the bell tolled equally for them,it dimishes us that many monsters live!!..In my life I thought a lot about donne,s poem,,mostly because of the inclusion in the Hemmingway book that made it famous,,utter complete deep sheep crap.. Famous radio talker Neal Boortz thinks Zimmerman should be arrested & he seems to not know what really happen... amazing !! ..Im listening to Bill Cuningham right now not as bad as Boortz, but there is a lot of misinformation out there
Stan, from what I understand, the neighborhood watch in that community is something that was formed recently, not years ago. If you have an article that shows that it has been in place for the amount of time you state, please share it. Here is an article I found about Zimmerman stating "he started a neighborhood watch last September in his gated community in Sanford, Fla." http://www.nypost.com/p/new...oU0L7K#ixzz1qEoESbCQ
quote
For more than a decade, George Zimmerman dreamed of a life in law enforcement — but instead of becoming a real cop, he lived out his big blue fantasy by tracking down stray dogs, “suspicious” children and other intruders in his gated Florida community.
Before he gunned down unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin — an incident President Obama confronted Friday, calling it a tragedy — Zimmerman had been a nuisance to 911 operators. He would carry around with him a pistol and the hope that he would one day wear a badge.
Zimmerman grew up in Manassas, Va., a Catholic altar boy who was the son of a military man.
He wrote in his senior yearbook that he was “going to Florida to work with my godfather who just bought a $1 million business” — but Zimmerman’s heart was pulling him toward law enforcement.
“He wanted to join the police force — either the State Police or the county police,” said George Hall, 78, a retired minister and longtime neighbor of Zimmerman in Virginia.
“He asked me to write him a letter of recommendation, and I was glad to. He was such a wonderful kid. I thought he’d be the kind of officer I wanted protecting me.
“I had no doubt about his abilities to look out for citizens. I would have an easier time respecting him than I have with some officers now.”
Hall said he didn’t know when Zimmerman’s detective dreams were dashed.
But that didn’t stop Zimmerman from playing the part.
He had a license to carry a concealed weapon, and he started a neighborhood watch last September in his gated community in Sanford, Fla.
Well before that, he was calling cops for just the slightest, racially tinged suspicions.
As the watch volunteer at the 260-unit Retreat at Twin Lakes, he became a paranoid pest — peppering 911 with at least 46 calls. They varied in urgency, but in the last year focused mostly on black men or boys.
That included a “suspicious” 7- to 9-year-old boy with a “skinny build” and short black hair.
In November 2006, he called to report a red Toyota pickup truck “driving real slow” around the neighborhood for five minutes.
In September 2009, he called about a “yellow speed bike” weaving in and out of traffic and doing “wheelies.”
A month later, Zimmerman was hot on the scent of an “aggressive white and brown pit bull.”
And last August, he reported a black man he believed was “involved in recent” burglaries.
The son of a white father and a Peruvian mother, Zimmerman was ambitious, friends said. Zimmerman moved to Florida in 2001, and he enrolled in Seminole State College in 2003, pursuing a vocational certificate to become an insurance agent.
Down South, he had his own brushes with the law. In 2005, he was arrested for assaulting a cop and resisting arrest. He avoided conviction by entering a pretrial-diversion program.
That same year, his ex-fiancée, Veronica Zuazo, filed a restraining order against him, claiming he had been near her home “just checking up” on her. When she demanded that he leave, he allegedly grew violent, pushing her, according to the Miami Herald.
The next day, he filed his own petition and claimed she wanted him to stay the night and grew violent when he refused. A judge ordered both to stay away from each other.
In 2008, he explained away his arrest on an enrollment application to a citizen’s law-enforcement academy program at the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office.
“I was in an altercation with an undercover officer that was taking part in an ATF sting for underage drinking in UCF [University of Central Florida],” Zimmerman wrote, according to documents obtained by The Post.
“He never told me he was an officer and assaulted me first.
“My father is a retired magistrate judge for the Supreme Court of Virginia and my mother was a deputy clerk of court for over 20 years,” he wrote. “I hold law-enforcement officers in the highest regard as I hope one day to become one.”
Zimmerman was accepted into the 14-week course, which offers civilians an inside look at the sheriff’s office, the courthouse and the jail. He never became a cop — he was a pencil pusher, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
Zimmerman re-enrolled at Seminole State in 2009 — still with the hopes of joining law enforcement — but was booted last week because of safety concerns for him, the Los Angeles Times said.
Zimmerman’s paranoia led directly to his Feb. 26 encounter with Trayvon Martin, 17.
Police said Zimmerman first spied Trayvon walking from a 7-Eleven at about 7:15 p.m. and called police to report him as suspicious. Although he was told by a 911 operator not to get involved, Zimmerman followed Trayvon.
They scuffled and Zimmerman shot him once in the chest with his licensed Kel-Tec 9mm semiautomatic handgun. Zimmerman says he acted in self-defense. A special prosecutor, the FBI and the US Department of Justice are investigating.
Zimmerman is also facing trouble from the militant New Black Panther Party, which yesterday offered a $10,000 reward for his “capture,” the Sentinel reported.
George Zimmerman has placed at least 46 calls to 911 in the last eight years. In the last year, his calls focused on blacks in his gated community:
April 22, 2011: Reports “black male, 7 to 9 years old with skinny build,” walking around the neighborhood.
Aug. 3, 2011: Calls in a black male he “believes is involved in
recent burglaries in the neighborhood.”
Aug. 6, 2011: Fingers two black teens he thinks “have been burglarizing homes in this area.”
Oct. 1, 2011: Reports two black males, approximately 20 to 30 years old, whom he does not recognize. He says he’s “concerned due to recent burglaries in the area.”
Feb. 2, 2012: Drops dime on a black male because it is “unknown what he is doing.”
Feb. 26: Calls about Trayvon Martin
Hey, we’ve had some break-ins in my neighborhood, and there is a real suspicious guy.
Asked by the dispatcher what the suspect looks like, he says:
He looks black . . . Now he’s coming towards me. He’s got his hand in his waistband.

At least the author is blatant about their slant in that article. They did get it wrong about the 46 "911" calls. They were to the non-emergency number not 911. It gives a different impression if Zimmerman is reporting suspicious behavior to the police on their non-emergency number which by the way, the police encourage people to do.
Also the author cites only 6 examples of Zimmerman identifying suspicious Black people out of the 46. 6/46 = 13% which hardly fits the narrative that Zimmerman only called "911" when he spotted a black person in his neighborhood.

Also according to several articles Zimmerman was the only volunteer when the HOA decided to form the neighborhood watch, so your little "self appointed" bs needs to be changed please.
At the time the homeowners association decided to organize a neighborhood watch, Zimmerman was the only volunteer.[39] He was then chosen as the neighborhood watch coordinator by his neighbors, according to Wendy Dorival, who organizes Neighborhood Watch for the Sanford Police Department.[40] The February 2012 homeowner association newsletter requested that crime victims "call our captain, George Zimmerman" after calling the police.[9] “He [Zimmerman] once caught a thief and an arrest was made,” said Cynthia Wibker, secretary of the homeowners association.[37]
Police had been called to The Retreat at Twin Lakes 402 times from January 1, 2011, to February 26, 2012.[37] Crimes committed at The Retreat in the year prior to Martin's death included eight burglaries, nine thefts and one other shooting.[37] The City of Sanford posted a "George Zimmerman 911 Call History" listing 46 Event Reports naming George Zimmerman as the caller between 2004 and the night of the shooting.[41][42][43] These were reported by many media sources, including the Orlando Sentinel[44] and the Miami Herald,[45] as occurring between 2011 and 2012 due to a typo on the first page of the police report.[46]
Zimmerman is licensed to carry a firearm.[37] Sanford police chief Bill Lee said that while neighborhood watch volunteers are not encouraged to carry a gun, they have a Constitutional right to do so,[37] stating, "Mr. Zimmerman was not acting outside the legal boundaries of Florida Statute by carrying his weapon when this incident occurred."[47]
Still waiting on that address there Madcurl.

AVENGADOR1 ..MY INFORMATION COMES MAINLY FROM LOCAL TALK RADIO WHICH HAS PROVEN MUCH BETTER THAN NEWSPAPER ,T.V. & INTERNET.. THINK ABOUT IT !! Zimmerman made at least 46 calls to police & authorities over a period of 6 years the talk show morons say he was an overzealous watchman, but he had 6 years of service to his community. Zimmerman was a self appointed watchman,no one else would help, because residents hope someone else will be robbed or brutalized, people do not give a flying fornication feces untill its them !! in lower class area,s and lower middle class area people DO NOT CARE ABOUT THIER NEIGHBOR..THEY HOPE FOR THE BEST people do not want to get involved,,Zimmerman is a better man than 99% of the members of this forum, & the uninvolved are very quick to condemn,,making them less likely to become involved, catch 29, they could have a problem that does not occur during thier nitely T.V.zombie festival.. the average wantta be cop is normally a good citizen 90% of the time none of you dirtbags would do what Zimmerman did ,you only see the bad,the lost time, the danger,& screw the people who care !!

Ratings, money, and winning favor from Obama himself.
If he saw a white kid with tattoos, a piercing, wearing the same clothes, and a shaved head, do you not think he would respond exactly like he did with Trayvon?
If he Did it is STILL Racial profiling and WRONG !

Profiling exists for a reason, I'm quite sure he profiled because the kid looked like a thug, not because he was black.
And it is Illegial for a Reason too! I understand your reasoning but the Looking like a thug dosen't make you one. And Looking like a Thug is NOT a crime. Looking like a Hooker is NOT justification for Rape.
