I guess this is as good a time as any to start posting my build project and let everyone know where it started form.
In November 2007 I got this 88GT and it looked nice but needed work.
some things I have done so far.
new poly motor and trans mounts ( they were all Broke in two !)
new poly suspension front and rear.
fixed all of the v6 and auto trans. leaks (nothing bugs me more than oil in my shop)
did the s-10 booster upgrade and started on the body.
I am making a one off fiberglass body for the whole car. I started with a 355 front facia taken from a real 355 and cut down 4" I made a top cover for it using the stock GT bumper as a mold then made molds off the stock front fenders so I could make them wider to fit the new front end and cover the front tires better.
I also vented the hood.
this is where it is at this point. I talked to Archie and I am going to order his wide body rockers.
also as far as the drivetrain and other mods f40 6 speed trans, LS6 motor , choptop among other mods I will post all of it here.
This images is larger than 153600 bytes. Click to view.

It already looks nice! Those improvements will make it the exception.

Keep us informed of how things go. I'd like to see how the body kit goes.

Bump to keep my build going
I have not worked on my car for some time now because of my back but I am now restarting on it
I will post new pictures after this weekend
the front end is mounted and I vented the hood and made new wide fiberglass front fenders
I made the front end 3"s wider than stock to get rid of that wedge look and cover the tires better.
I hope to have it in primer soon.
I have alot more to do to it.
IE.... widebody, choptop, custom rear facia, LS6/6 speed, and more

Ok I spent all weekend working on my car. I got it striped, worked on the front end and the rear decklid.
I ordered the widebody kit from Archie this last week along with a set of choptop windows.
I also got a set of the German popup headlights and a rear facia like the one that carlo is working on.
but any way here are some pictures of what I did this weekend.

the frontend I used a 355 nose and cut 4" out of it to fit to the fiero I made fiberglass fenders and I made them
each 1-1/4" wider to cover the tires better.

the decklid I cut out the top and used the mustang hood scoop

I cant leave any thing alone! every car or motorcycle I have ever owned I have customized.
the headlights are installed but not wired yet I am waiting on the plugs and the fog lights to finish that part.
last night I worked on the doors and front fenders to get them ready for the widebody kit.
I am not going to put it on yet because I still have a lot of work to do before I can.
Archie is sending me the side windows for the choptop and once I get them I will start the cutting then I can do the rest of the body.
I just dont want to install the bodykit just to take it back off again.
but I will keep you all posted. no pic's of the car today just bodywork.
to show you what kind of work I do here are some of the other projects of mine a little off topic but enjoy!
This images is larger than 153600 bytes. Click to view.
I built this one from the ground up.

UPDATE! I just got the rear bumper today I will post pic's tomarow.

my 07 streetglide repainted

and last but not least my 06 nightrain with a 103 stroker and NOS hp is 168.
it has made the cover of US rider and I bedlinered it no paint.

Ok here are some pic's of the widebody and the rear bumper.
their is a lot of work to be done before I can put this stuff on the car.I need to finish the frontend and do the choptop first.
then I can start working on the body.last night I worked on the doors and the front fenders to patch all the holes from the GT moldings.
and I bonded the top of the fenders to the bottoms. body work does not photograph well. but I did place the rockers and the door part on the car so I
could get some pictures to post. they are black so they are hard to see in the pic's but here they are.....

ok it's thursday and last night more body work and fiberglass. it is slow.
fiberglass takes forever to set up so you cant do much else once you do that.
last night I worked on the nose cover to fit it to the wide front fenders.
I took a mold off the top of the gt facia to get the main shape then I cut it apart to fit it
and then glassed it to size now I have to wait for it to dry so I can take it off and glass the underside then
more sanding!
here are some pic's from last night.

Just a minor update. but I worked on the car a little last night on the front end and the drivers side body to fix the holes in the door from the GT rockers.
Fiberglass takes time to dry so I could not do much more with it at that point. so I will be working on it again tonight and I will try to get more pictures up tomarow.
at this point I have not started the chop yet, I talked to Archie and he is sending me the windows this week so I will not be able to chop it until I get back in 2 weeks.
I would like to have the car back together and in primer for the run for the hills in Sept. the motor and trans will not be done for some time. I am having a local corvette racing shop do some work to the LS6 and the trans they will not be done with it till Oct. or Nov. but it will be fast when I get it back.

If anyone has any questions on my build or I can help with yours let me know that is what we are all here for.

Thanks Guy's
I will work on it a little this week but I will be out of the country next week. but when I get back I am going to bust butt to get it in primer and back on the road for
the run for the hills with the Ga. club in sept. then it will most likely be down intill the World of Wheels in Jan 09 but by then it will be Painted and it might have an
LS6/ 6 speed it depends on the corvette shop as to when they finish my motor. (it will have a few more HP than before! nudg, nudg, wink, wink)
can you say maby TURBO! or SC! not sure yet what they are doing to it yet but my friends own the shop and I trust them. I just know it will be very fast
what ever it is. the last motor they built for a friend was 1200HP but that was in A corvette and twin turbo. I am thinking around 800HP for this one.
I will keep you all posted.

last night I worked on the doors and front fenders to get them ready for the widebody kit.
I am not going to put it on yet because I still have a lot of work to do before I can.
Archie is sending me the side windows for the choptop and once I get them I will start the cutting then I can do the rest of the body.
I just dont want to install the bodykit just to take it back off again.
but I will keep you all posted. no pic's of the car today just bodywork.
to show you what kind of work I do here are some of the other projects of mine a little off topic but enjoy!

my 07 streetglide repainted

and last but not least my 06 nightrain with a 103 stroker and NOS hp is 168.
it has made the cover of US rider and I bedlinered it no paint.

I love the seat cover on the last bike. I gotta learn how to build one of those. I dont need the bike, just the seat cover......

And your car is looking great. I really like those headlights. I know you got them from Xanth....where can I find some?

Be careful in your travels....Keep us posted. Really interested to see the chop.

Thanks for the complements on my car, and yes the seat cover on my bike was not bad ether.
Last night I worked on the front a bit more working out the top of the bumper and started the widebody on the drivers side.
the car to me looks great even though it is 6 differant colors I can still see the finished car it will just take a lot of work to get it there.
when I get back I will finish the drivers side and get the car in primer.
here are some pic's from last night.

I just wanted to say you are doing a great job
Thaks for posting the pics.

Could you please post some more pics of the drivers side before put the 1/4 flares on.

Also could you PLEASE....... post detailed pics of the chop, I would love to see pics of where the cuts are done
specially the ones on the roof and sides.

Have you though about what wheels you will use ?

I noticed that you have the projector lamps on the inside..... they're should be mounted on the outside since they
are supposed to be the low beams.

Keep up the great work

I will post a more detailed picture set of the drivers side and the chop.
as far as wheels I was thinking about using a set from BonSpeed.
the projectors hit the top when they were in the other way so I changed them
