Ok so I am supposed to bring the car to Frazee today, they are going to pull the panels off for prep.
Then on Wednesday when the parts come in I am going to go back to Frazee get the car drive it to Nereson's with out body panels on and they are going to put the brakes on?

Pretty much. The brake parts will be in at Hedahl's tomorrow. I need to talk with Dave, as I am hoping they can get the parts, or you could pick them up and take them over there for Dave to paint up. Need to get a can of high temp caliper paint in red... (I have a vision)..
Andy---Great job on the Colors,--dang those pilots look young tho. Shoot me the dimensions on the folded flag when you can.
I'm colorblind-really. Would you say that wooden plaque is a light oak color?
Yes, the majority of our pilots are 35 years and younger. The plaque is more like a medium oak color, the picture made it look lighter. Dimensions have been taken and I'm PM'ing you now, Don.
The colors have been flown ahead of schedule! They gave me a certificate and a wooden plaque for it, which they don't normally provide. The picture of the pilots is not as blurry as my photo I took it turned out, really low light in here. Also the flag will be refolded to my standards, this was a quick fold job before it was given back to me.
O.k. In a joint effort with General Motors ( The Fiero Store ) I have been givin the authorization to produce something very speical for you Tyler. We wanted to show our appreciation for your love of your Pontiac Fiero. This is going to be COOL!!!

Per our discussion, run it by Tires Plus for the inspection, then drop it at Frazee Auto Body and Glass.
Would love pics, and... Since all of the extras that are being shipped to you should be coming in soon, please snap a pic of the pile of boxes/packages..
We'd love to see the mess it is making!

Please add Dan (Fosgatecavy98) to the builders list. He is going to be my point man as I will be unable to attend. He is flying into Fargo, Fri. @ 1:45ish.
So it is going to go to Nereson's with out body panels on it? I think you had better talk to Dave prior to making that kind of decision. I dont want him to dig into then rip it out of his shop for the brakes to be done back in Detroit Lakes. We need to be logical about this. I feel that after it gets to Frazee it stays in Frazee.

Remember, the Fiero can be driven without panels. They are mainly cosmetic covering the spaceframe.

The brakes have to be done though. I am waiting to hear from Dave. I did speak with Karen already on it, and told her that things needed to be done..
Be patient, I am working on this from a distance, so I am doing all I can to make sure it gets done in the right order.
Body panels can be prepped for paint on or off of the car. Brakes should only take a few hours with all new hardware.
The car can legally be driven without the body panels as long as two conditions are met. The marker lights are still installed and functional, and the license plates are installed. The front plate can go in the windshield.
If the majority panels are at the shop to be prepped, then a few hours of the car at a mechanic having the brakes done is nothing.

Last time I checked the Fiero space frame is legal without body panels as long as all the lights are present and working... we had a member drive to the Dells in a 'naked' Fiero.
On second thought... it may need a hood and decklid... sigh.

Captain Hinches (sp?) from the Minnesota State Patrol office in Detroit Lakes stated that as long as it has windows, lights, plates and is registered currently, it will be fine to drive to Detroit Lakes to get the brakes done. He did state that the only thing you will have to worry about is weird looks.
So... Once I speak with Dave, we will have a plan to set in action.
does Frazee have the time to really tear into it and take everything apart tomorrow? I think we just need to slow down a sec take a deep breath and think about this Synthesis. See what Dave says and we will go from there.

Nick, I understand completely what you are saying. No, I do not believe he can tear the entire thing apart in that short of time if he has no experience in doing so... BUT, the brakes HAVE to be done. The parts have been donated. Do we paint it, then drive it over there in broad daylight and let an auto shop work on it with fresh paint and greasy hands? Or do we do the brakes while other stuff is being prepped?
The hood can be removed in 10 minutes with only one person and a ratchet/socket set. The decklid is even easier. The front bumper is 30 minutes of work, max.
Again, I know what you are saying and I understand it. But unless you have the skills and time to put brakes on the car, it should go to Nereson's once Dave is able to tell me what we can do. It all hinges on Dave. It takes several days to prep for paint. If most of the panels are sitting in the shop to be prepped, the car can go at any time, not necessarily Thursday, or even Wednesday. It just needs to go before it gets paint.
We won't have the time to do it on the weekend, as we have a lot of other stuff. Give me a call when you can.

I can't give much, but I gave what I can via the paypal link on the website. I will be praying for all of you who can make it to work on the car, and for Tyler + family, that they know how much God loves them.
Godspeed --

Hello Everyone! I have talked with the owner of Billy's and he would be honored to have the meet and greet and his bar and restaurant. I just need to tell him a time that we figure everyone can be there. I was figuring about 6:30-7ish? Let me know! Thank you!

I was thinking that would be good. And let it run as long as the place is open for those who would like.. We don't want to take over Billy's exclusively. We just need a roof, good company, good food, and liquid refreshments for those who want them.
I look forward to meeting everyone. I will try to wear a name tag with my name/forum name on it.
Sent a small donation. Forgot to put my user name It's from terry_wolfgang at hotmail. It seems that all of the parts listed in the first post are covered. If there are any parts needed please update the first post. I would be glad to send anything I have.

Sounds great! I will let Julie know as well so that she can let the students know as well. I can't wait to meet you all! Blessings!

Updating the first post. I need to find stock radio mounting brackets. The two metal brackets from the sides of the radio.
