Maybe we should have some kind of tickets for those who have paid for dinner. And can be use towards the raffles if there's raffles that night. Just a thought. At least a different color raffle ticket anyway. Did that make any sense???
Another sorry excuse for a bump.

Are you regretting pulling out that nice, economical 4-cyl?
LOL! Not at all. I replaced it with a nice, economical 6-cyl. I only get a few mpg less and make more than twice the power! I dont have to keep my foot to the floor to have fun like I did with the duke, so ti works out great. I'm never going back. The Coast Run is going to rock with the 3.4 TDC.

Catered, it is then! I'll try to make the first call today and start working on the details.
Since I think we will be driving Rie's new 'kit car' Fiero, we won't have to bring two vehicles to carry all the stuff like we did last year. There is just something nice about having a full trunk without an engine in it! The space behind the seats is nice too!

yeah, me too. But this is Marie's toy. I was just saying in another thread how the Reatta is a lot like the Fiero. They only made it for four years, 88-91. The first couple of years were troublesome and when they finally got it right they cancelled it!
This one is a 90. The bugs were pretty much worked out by then. The only drawback from this one compared to a 91 is that the 91 had a Series II 3800 and this one is a Series I. It don't really matter though since a 3800SC will bolt right in, just gotta update the electronics for it.
Unlike the Fiero, what killed these cars is the price! They were all fully loaded. They were all hand built. Priced at $30k and no one was willing to give that for a tiny two-seater Buick.
I think I can pass it off as a Fiero for our purposes though!

Put a call in to the caterer today. Haven't heard back yet but things are underway! Decisions are being made...
Now it is down to begging vendors for raffle items!
This may end up not being a good time to ask. There are efforts undwerway to get Fiero vendors to donate items for raffle and so forth to help the hurricane/flood victims.

Well, that is for sure just as worthy a cause as St Judes. Maybe we can direct part of our proceeds that way as well. I like it when the FIero community kicks in to help each other. I'll like it even better when the gov't gets it's head on straight and starts putting some money where it is needed here at home (and also doing something about the gouging on gas prices that is killing us all).
In the meantime, I will ask vendors for donations anyway. We've had some great success with these vendors in the past, even had quite a few from outside the Fiero arena last year. The prizes are good. The cause is good. And we try to return to the vendor by advertising their companies, both at the show and online. I think we will do just fine. I've already had a couple of people contact me offering items and I haven't even sent out my e-mail yet! Thanks guys!

Thanks Jess... Looks like we are over the first little hump of activity. I'm trying to get some more promotional material available on the website before I fly out on Tuesday morning.

Maybe you can take up a voluntary collection there at the run Fierobear. Waiting for the govt isn't going to get it done.

Thanks John... The WestFest T-shirts will make a nice raffle item. I am working on a new T-shirt design for the Coast Run this year and hope to have a little better luck getting them printed than I did last year. I'm just going to bite the bullet and invest in getting a certain amount made instead of trying to take orders and hope to get them printed individually. Of course that means that there will only be one style instead of people being able to get their own car on the shirts.
Don, we will definitely put up a bucket for people who want to donate to the Hurricane Fund.
Well i would so like to go, the only problem is that im only 16. My mom doesent want me to get a hotel room by myself. I am planning on meeting up with everybody in fresno or bakersfield and doing the caravan. I was wondering if anybody would be willing to let me stay with them in the hotel room. I will bring a sleeping bag and the floor is perfect for me. I dont care about sleeping on the floor, i just would be really grateful if someone would let me sleep in there room so i can go on the coast run. I am willing to pay someone half the room price too
Something will work out Daniel, I'm sure of it, there's lots of time left! I'll look forward to meeting you if we can both join up with the caravan from the Fresno area. We'll be there for the football game on Thursday. The Fiero gods will take care of things! Keep the faith!

I'll be there for lunch if nothing else. I usually follow the group back down and stay over, but my schedule doesn't permit me to look that far in the future. I'm hoping to do just that, but its not a for sure thing yet. Daniel, if I go, you can crash in my room saturday night. Can't help you with friday, sorry.
Californiaspeeder- ill be looking forward to meeting you at the north end. We both have yellow fieros
gldkarma- i hope you can join up on the caravan. I am for sure going to meet up with the caravan group, so hope to see you then
Fastback 86- thanks for letting me know that. Just keep me in mind if you can stay overnight and contact me when you know. If i could crash in your room sat. night, that would be great because then i would only have to worry about where i am going to sleep on friday night. If i have to sleep in my car, then thats what ill do because im not going to miss this coast run
Hey all my buddy Chet might be able to pick up a Fiero sometime this week.......and I'm hoping he will be able to join us for our Coast Run 2005. Cross your fingers..........we may have found one. Actually, he has 2 to choose from.
I'd love to pass on the favor. My first (actually THE first) Coast Run 3 years ago I had planned to sleep in my car cause I couldn't afford the room. stimpy said no way and let me sleep in his room. I'm planning to be there, but I don't know for sure yet. You'll be the first to know when I do.

I've made the last two coast runs, but this year i'm headed up to washington for college. So my car will be in the garage until next year =(. To bad the run is not on the 20th, i would be able to make it since that is when my first break is...
