Korea, WW1, and WW2 have nothing to do with this discussion. Afghanistan maybe, but the rest of your argument is just American bravado. No merit to the discussion. F 9/11 is certainly biased, but it is only biased when Moore opens his mouth, and its biased because it only shows half of the story. But that half of the story IS TRUE. Yup thats right, interviews with soldiers, interviews with soldiers families, pictures of dead Iraqi children, pictures of dead American soldiers, video of President Bush saying outrageously careless things like " The Have's and the have mores, some people call you the elite, I just call you my base". Thats all FACT. I don't care how its presented, I can make up my own mind on how I feel about these things. You just don't get it, maybe your son should go to Iraq and die for this precious "safety" we are creating.
well this thread is about if you would vote for bush after seeing this movie. My nieghbor son died 7 months ago over there and i don't recall Jabba the Butt doing any interveiws with him.Could have been an oversight or it could have been he would have been shot. Not everybody that lost to this crappy war feels like the ones in this mockumentory. I'm glad you can make up your own mind but can you say that for everyone.
After seeing this movie i really hate the manipulation that all of the puppets out there allow themselves to follow.I didn't pay to see it by the way i just borrowed it from the internet.I could not justify paying to see that crap. The only reason i can think of not to show both sides of a story is because you have no faith in your beliefs or your just a pos coward.

I guess Canadians have no control of their own destiny and depend on decisions made by US for them to survive. I know our politics have World wide effects, it doesn't matter who is in office, but if we go to war it doesn't mean that Canada has to be involved. They could just hang back like France, Germany, and Russia did.
It really scares to think of all these americans who truly believe sending poor American kids to fight against poor Iraqi kids was a good idea. Who was it good for ? yes, read the Senate intel. report that was just published, saddam was cooperating with terrorists that wanted to attack us. this was from a bipartisan finding.
Don't even try to use the 911 commissions report for your argument. You know damn well that report showed no relationship between the two entities. There may have been some contact and even some cooperation, but then again we cooperated with Iraq more than Al Queda ever did. The fact is there wasn't any results of any of those connections, other than failed attempts to cooperate.
The rest of your statements are just more rhetoric. What I say stands, there were no WMD, no Al Queda training camps, no REASON to go to Iraq. You can take your arbitrary arguments for death and destrcution and tell them to someone who cares... Or who is stupid enough to buy into it... Yeah we are safer now that 1000 Americans have lost their lives and Bin Laden is running around free.. yippeeee!

First of all we ARE NOT GOING TO START A WAR WITH THE USA TO GET OUT POINT ACROSS....oh and you don't think i know about your WMD and biological weapons . BTW remeber the "I am seeking support from all nations" ....hrm....I think he might have been refering to us to.

What I dont think you understand is I ALWAYS thought Bush was a "total piece of garbage" the only day I thought highly of him is when during the war he went to Iraq to talk to the Soldiers....that was the only time that I thought of him highly...the movie only put fuel on MY fire as I stated before
Mike, I know from your posts that you felt this way about Bush before the movie. The thing is this movie was obviously motivated by the directors dislike of Bush. It's totally skewed to fit his anti-Bush agenda instead of taking the situation as a whole...both the good and the bad. I would take everything in it with a grain of salt. Obviously you think differently on that one. If you see it as "mostly true" you're letting yourself be brainwashed.
You have your right to your opinion on Bush. I don't dislike him as much as you do, but I do have my issues with the guy.
so youre telling me you woulda just dropped everything, panicked and knew exactly what to do in that situation? yeah what a great example, president freaks out and runs out of the room while reading to a bunch of kids.. and michael moore is a dipstick, he says what he says cause it makes him money and the 1st amendment allows him too. no need to get worked up over it. the reason the constitution works is because it applys to EVERYONE, not just those that dont speak their mind. let moore say what he wants, if people are too blind and ignorant to form their own opinion, OH WELL, thats life, and thats the way they wish to live it. i know personally, i make own my own mind on things, honestly, if you dont like how america is being run, then MOVE OUT, too many americans say their "ashamed to be american" THE MOVE OUT! if you hate it so much, then go away, nothings keepin ya here. oh wait i forgot, youre a hypocritical arm-chair commando that thinks they know EVERYTHING about the world by watching a few movies and listening to cnn like its the end-all be all. of course, YOU KNOW what you wouldve done 9/11, youve had what? 3 years to think about it now. bush wasent in office for a year, how the hell could he have POSSIBLY had any idea what to do in that situation, 7 minutes? thats pretty damned quick to come up with a solution to a huge crisis.
the problem is everyone seems to think that bush is completely retarded, news-flash people, hes NOT! i dont know about you, but as much bitching about money-needed, etc, you still have to be pretty frickin smart to be president. think about all the decisions the guy has to make in a day... sure we only hear of 1 or 2 maybe, but ill bet you anything that he has 4-5 top-secret decisions to make for every 1 public one. aye.. thats all from me, im stayin out of this.. its prolly gonna end up in the trashcan anyways.

Ah yes, the opinion of a 20 year old French Canadian boy! Now that's worth somthing. I am an American fighting in the defense of my country and am prepared to lay down my life in my countrys' defense. I will obey the orders of those above me and the orders of the President of the United States. I live by this code and will die by it if necessary. And you being north of our border have no "Right" to express your opinion as gospel to me. You may have rights in Canada but not here. And yes, I realize this forum exists in the Netherlands, not the United States of America, but know this: the very freedom I provide for my country has enabled you to express youself here and now. You're welcome! Don't even think about dragging me into a debate about how Canada does not ask for our protection, it simply exists. No person, no rogue nation or any nation for that matter would ever think about touching Canada. You have the biggest uncle on the block: Uncle Sam! You have no military, this I know, I've seen it first hand. Pathetic! Nice try, we have something of the sort except we call them the Boy Scouts. So again, you're very welcome for the protection! It's a good thing too, you don't have to spend that part of you nations GDP on a military when you can fund that great free healthcare system of yours. I don't blindly follow the rantings of any one man; I'm sworn to. Bush, Clinton, hel!, even Kerry if he is lucky enough to get into office. There were five aircraft in the sky that afternoon: Air Force One, two F-16s a KC-10 and a C-141, all in support of President Bush. We flew him to Barksdale LA and everywhere else he needed to be that day. I can't tell you the names of the crew on AF1 or the 16's or even the 10 (though it was from my base) but I know each person on that 141 that day. I can tell you who was in the Secret Service detail and what the serial number of the Presidential limo was that day. I've been to Baghdad, I've been to Afganistan. Don't for a second cheapen what I've been doing now for longer than you've been alive. It sickens me each time I load the flag draped caskets on my 141 knowing there are ignorant people like you breathing air on this planet. It cheapens the deaths of my patriotic countrymen and cheappens what I am willing to die for. Freedom. Go look that word up in the dictionary and ask yourself this: how is Canada a free nation? Because of men like me. You're welcome to your opinion, not here, and not now. You saw a movie and its' content made you post this thread?! You swallowed what you saw as TRUTH. My God boy, I saw Star Trek. I read the book: The Physics of Star Trek and there are some facts in the book too. But we don't have transporters beaming things around the planet. I wish we did though, it would put me out of a job. Go do something better withyou time like through a Looney at some strippers twat up there in Monteal. Leave the big world problems to the men, the United States of America, last super power with balls.
BULLETIN: Armed with a few reports from Fox news' "unbiased" commentaries. The conservatives stick to their guns and explain to all us ignorant brainwashed Moore zombies that what we saw in the movie was all a big lie. Seeing as they never saw the movie, they must have infinitely more knowlege on the subject. Good thing all us Americans are so informed when arguing about the future of our country.

I love it, you hand us some condescending text on the internet and expect us to lick your boots. Well if you truly have been to Baghdad, then you know what your fellow soldiers think of whats going on, but apparently you also only hand us one side of the story. Go ahead and tell me a US citizen how I am a less of a person than you because you claim to be a soldier over the internet, like you condescendingly did to our fellow Canadians.
If you are a soldier I applaud you for your service, but don't for a second think that you need not question your country's leaders. Remember Vietnam?

I am not even going to comment....I feel bad enough that Soldiers AKA innocent human beings are losing their lives for this. Had to EDIT again just to mention YOU DON'T NEED A BIG MILITARY IF YOU DON'T START WARS

Pardon me. Before I went to see it I knowingly told myself that not everything in the movie would be true.
very good

Yes I've seen it, and it wasn't what I expected at all. It reminded me of typical Republican/Democrat speeches. Democrats bringing up everything wrong with Republicans, Republicans bringing up everything wrong with Democrats, both sides skewing things to make the other look worse.....in all cases, it's just someone trying to sell their way of thinking. I'm not buying.

Mostly True as in I know their is a BIAS.....that they don't show the whole thing....but what is shown is mostly true.
I will agree that there are many facts "shown", but it's obvious the director left out many facts which would have made things look different....different as in it wouldn't have made Bush look bad, and we know he wanted to make Bush look as bad as possible, so he had no problem keeping them out.

Hey Conn. I don't give a rats arse if you believe me or not. For the record I''m not a soldier, I'm an Airman. And I stated clearly I don't follow any one man blindly. I'm sworn to carry out the orders of those over me. I do question my leaders every election. I vote. And as for your comment about "Our fellow Canadians", what the hel! does that mean? They're not my fellow Canadians, I'm not Canadian. I remember Vietnam quite well, that's why I came on active duty. Ever been there? Ever served? There's not many of us left, our military is a mere shadow of what it was even ten years ago. I'm glad you have an opinion, it's what I fight for. The military isn't a democracy; we fight for one. Have a nice day!

The problem with that assertion is the movie isn't only about Bush. As a matter of fact its mostly about the war in Iraq and how horrible it is. So you can't simply say the movie is all contrived. Its simply not true.

I liked that post a lot better thna the first. I guess I probably shouldn't have used "fellow" to show our common bond with canadians. Or maybe I should have said fellow human beings. Because thats we are.
I never served in the military, I'm not a moring a person. I do have a military family however and listen to them with the utmost resect and interest. My father served in West Germany in the 70's and my Grandfather served in Japan during WW2. We don't always agree, but they listen to me and I listen to them.

I know it's not completely about Bush
I wouldn't say it is all contrived, but I would say much of it is. I know the war in Iraq looks horrible, what war ever didn't?

Thats the point though it is horrible. What brought us to this last resort? It was Bush, and everything he told us has been wrong. If there is any contriving going on you can bet its Paul Wolfowitz, Dick Cheney, George Bush, John Ashcroft, and all the rest of the gang appointed by Bush. You have to remember we as citizens didn't vote for these people. Nobody gets to contest their appointment, its just the way it is. They don't care about us, they never did and they never will.

It's funny how a bunch of gun totin' hill billy bumpkins managed to outsmart everyone in America to take control of the House, the Senate, the Presidency, The Supreme Court, Most of the State Governorships, and Most state legislatures in the last decade with such limited intelligence isn't it?
I guess the American electorate is pretty dumb, huh?
Honestly, I couldnt care less. I'll vote for Bush anyways. What did you want him to do? tuck his tail between his legs and have the united nations slap the iragies on the hand and say "No!"
If I would have been in his place I would have bombed those dirty sand rats until there wasnt 1 left.

well, uh.....dangit! What can I say to that...I certainly can't say politicians don't spoon feed us crap on a regular basis. I see what you're saying.
My feelings on the war are mixed. I don't know if Hussein was a direct threat to us or not before the war. I'm not going to say he wasn't a threat just because we didn't find the infamous WMD's. I do believe we may have made a mistake in going there. Things have changed bigtime since 9/11. I'm glad our country is taking the "don't take any crap" stance with those Osama bastards in Afghanistan, but the Iraq thing is definitely a different story.

Half truths are lies. half stories are lies if the other half refutes the first. It's not hard to figure out this crap you either want to or you don't. To ask some of you to be objective would be a waste and another arguement.
Jabba the Butt lies because he doesn't tell the truth in it's entirerty end of story. If a man tells the truth most of the time but sometimes lies how reliable is that.Would you bet anything valuable of you own on him.Making any kind of decicion based on that movie is the sign of a weak and lazy mind. I personaly am tired of people saying you can't look at everything black and white. All the colors in the middle are there to confuse weak minds.

Hey Todd,
What happened to the white GT that was on e-bay? Won't let Andrew buy that one for 1000% mark-up.
Now about the movie, I don't plan on going to see it, nor would I give my hard earned money to a piece of crap like Michael Moore.
I do have a brain and I will be voting the way my brain tells me to, not the ramblings of the liberral teachers, media or anyone else I happen to run across. Not only do I have a brain, but my brain contains a beautiful mind, a mind I exercise regularily.
My husband is in the military and I am very proud of him for serving his country, my country! Serving, to make it a better, safer place for ALL of us to live in, that includes the liberal and conservative minds. It's amazing how that works, huh?

Gee kinda sounds like Bush and company that you are talking about. Half truths, forged documents, missing microfilm, no WMD, printing the Pariot act in the middle of the night, blaming 9/11 on Iraq, torturing prisoners and hiding the evidence, making soldiers stay in Iraq past their tour, you know... all those things..
You conservatives (not republicans) are all the same, to you there is no middle, there is no "other" side of the story, its all wrong unless its anti-abortion, pro gun, anti-social programs, pro war (no matter what war it is), and generally force my religion on you views.
What if I told you I semi supported the war on Iraq, I didn't vote for Bush, I am not all out pro life, and all of these issues are NOT BLACK AND WHITE. I know the dems aren't saints, and I know the rep's aren't demons. But I know that a lot of what you guys are and girl are saying is non sense hidden behind patriotism. Maybe you mean well, but from what I can tell its F*&^ everyone but myself attitudes and no compromise from you.
Edited Al Queda to Iraq... My bad.

Frickin bizarre. I had to wait til the auction ended before the bidding war started. I have two guys fighting over it now. Ended up selling to a buy in New York. The truck comes to pick it up on Friday.

Cool. I absolutely respect ANYONE who votes based on rational thought. I don't even care if someone votes Nadar after reflecting on the pros and cons and decides based on the evidence. Too bad so many people on both sides on the specturm (but mostly on the left) are SOOOOO rabid in their hatred of Bush. And why? Does the guy beat his wife and kick his dog? Does he do drugs? Does he wear light blue with dark blue? What???????
If people don't agree with his politics, FINE. But why do so many have to try to perpetuate this BS that he is dumb, a puppet, seeking wealth at the expense of US lives, a liar? And what's worse is that the people calling him a liar are fans of one of the only Presidents in modern history to ACTUALLY be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to REALLY BE a liar.
Ugh. It's mind numbing. I don't like Kerry's politics in the least. But I have never atttacked his military service record, his patriotism, his intelligence, etc. I never attacked Clinton's patriotism or intelligence either (serivce record???? legitamate issue on that one since he never served). And yet this double standard is omnipresent!
Thank God for Rupert Murdock and C-SPAN or I'd never know what was REALLY going on in the world.

Really! You accept some people liking Nader? Or are you just trying to push the Republican agenda to steer votes away from John Kerry? I happen to agree with Nader on most issues, not all by any means, but he's right most of the time.
Bush, where do I begin. The fact is Bush talks like a moderate republican but acts like a religious conservative. He just opened our national parks to logging and un did all the hard work to preserve them, he un did all the hard work to force polluting companies to install scrubbers to help clean the air and water, he stands in the way of critical stem cell research, he proposed a CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT to stop gay marriages, he cut veterans benefits, he signed a bill into law that allows companies to stop paying overtime to white collar employees, he helped reclassify McDonalds jobs as "manufacturing", he led us into war with no evidence, incorrect evidence, or lied to us, he cut the Dept. of Env Protection's budget, he awarded his vice presidents "former" company a no contest contract worth billions of dollars, he let the energy lobbyists write the energy policy for the US, then he and Cheney opposed the release of the transcripts from those meetings, Bush opposed a congressional investigation into the happennings on 9/11, he opposed an independent investigation into 9/11, he tells us nothing in news conferences which happen to be the least of any US president EVER, nearly every member of his cabinet has interests in oil as he himself does, should I continue???
