I'm not a big fan of juicing the engine so I really don’t know much about it... but isn't it possible he hit it with a large dose right after 1/8th mile?
I dont mean to cause flame i'm just curious if it is possible to have done that

I don't live within 500 miles of a dragstrip so I don't have a dog in this fight. HOWEVER: I have kept the rear of my Fiero sliding at an angle to the road for over 1/4 mile before the speed caught up with the traction and straightened the Fiero out (over 55 mph). I would post a picture of my slip slip but my scanner is down so you'll have to take my word on this. That was almost as much fun as non-sanctioned ice racing on local gravel pits. Pure BS racing, no classes other than it is wise not to race some one who doesn't care about their vehicle (big dents, etc). Just plain driving, even the four bangers have more power than needed.
Lost track of why I posted, guessing it was probably to remind myself how much FUN my Fiero is to drive, sometimes that gets lost in all the competition.
Hey X. Isn't it something like "stay on the porch" or...ummm.....something like that I think. Hmmm how's that go again ? I was distracted by that 10.5 class Fiero that just challenged you.
A true 10.5 class does not even refer to the speed of the vehicle.
"Ummmm yeah I own the track. I am always at the track. I am the world's fastest V6 just don't ask me what tech line to get into or what class I am in. Can't you see I am the great FieroX ? Bow down Tony Pedregon! Bow down John Force ! I drive an 11 sec Fiero ! I am FieroX !"
10.5 refers to the narrowed rear-end 10.5 tire class !! It is a big money/big dog/big sponsered class of racers. And yes, that means some serious speed so stretch out that wallet cause you're gonna need it.
Ahhh forget it. You wouldn't understand. I forgot you only have a V6. You can always go on rice night.
when I'm dreaming and drive of the edge of a cliff
Gravity does run a 9 at about 200MPH. So just make sure the cliff is more then a quarter mile down. And pray the wind resistance doesnt slow you down too much, because you can't do that run too many times.
Woohoo first trash can post for me!!
------------------ 84 Indy fiero Quad 4 HO (almost done!!) 85 2m? Getting parted out soon Silver 88 GT, Newest addiction.
dont worry guys, hes running high boost and other modifications to a smaller V-6 engine that had anitfreeze pour into the oil, so its not going to last that long, and if he starts spraying nitrous, he'll get in a few runs then Kaboom! Bottom end blows out shaking the whole car which causes him to lose control and slam into the side wall ruining his car also. Of course thats my prediction, he may or may not lose control and just his engine will be screwed
But X is right, 6-cyls are superior. You know the 6-cly ferrari's are the best selling ones. All the 6-cyl pro stock and top fuel dragsters are kicking the v-8's butts...oh wait...
BTW, Chester's and Daves engines are newer than yours and a little more advanced really.
You know I bet there's several people here that will trade you a RUNNING Fiero for your Chatroom... BTW... ALL of your 7-10 name's I have rated Negative too.. Even if Cliff traded you the control of the forum for the chatroom PowerMaster seat, I would'nt change a thing! Ray, I'll give you $500.00 if you will drive 1,000 miles straight EAST from your farm and end up in the middle of the Atlantic... Just a thought!

yeah whatever. anyway, i never race index class racing, I go out and run T/O's and better my own times, instead of worrying about back to back hot lapping, and beating my engine to death in eliminations. I just go at my own pace and make a few runs and go home.

My gawd - that saying has been around since the dawn of time, which is almost as long as X has been talking smack and forging time slips ..

My gawd - that saying has been around since the dawn of time, which is almost as long as X has been talking smack and forging time slips ..
actualy its "theres no replacement for displacement" but popular to contrary belief (yeah I know its backwards, but so is my whole world of thinking) boost is a viable replacement.
Anyway I find it funny that you think im the one forging slips. hahhaha. So do ya think this is forged? www.fieroX.com/race5.mov
Hmmmm, I wonder how fast Jordans green F&F beast really is? 4 bangers are great too ya know. Maybe I will represent the 4 bangers It's true that there is no replacement for displacement, but still...they race 4 cyl cars too you know. If I remember right, didn't the Indy Fiero record the fastest pace in Indianapoils history? OK, OK, so that was an SD4, but it wasn't a V6 or V8 now was it? Now I am not saying in anyway that I think that a regular 4 cyl Fiero like Jordans green beast could beat a monster V8. Fact is though, is that there is a guy I work with that owns a Porsche that he races. It has, get this, a 2.5 little ole 4 banger in it and he blows away 6 cyl and 8 cyl race cars quite often at the tracks. He races a lot at a track in CT. Anyone know what track that might be? I guess I can find out from him in the next few days and post that. Anyway, we got talking last week and thought it would be cool to try and get his Porsche and Jordans green beast to a track later this year and see who's car is faster. That ought to be a lot of fun, and great to get on video too.
OK, all you big dogz can go back to your regularely scheduled program with all that arguing and all now.
you know theres a funny thing about that movie X.... the text display at the beginning was added by you.... and it was announced... it doesnt show the actual time board...
now i've been photo editing and video editing for about 6 years.... whos to say that the announcer isnt you? its not that hard to add in sound to a video...
you can fake a video as easily as you could a picture...(if you know what you're doing) until it is seen in real life... it isnt to be believed
I guess that is a possible scenario, but there were members of the forum present and saw that run. Our little buddy Amir (Rare87GT) filmed that so would you believe him? As for the timeboard, it broke sometime last fall, and they just got it back up and working earlier this summer. Or you could use a stopwatch and time it. Of course you cant tell when i passed the finish line, because the dumbass in the loud ass firebird redlighted. Dont worry. The track is back up to 100% now, and so is my car. Ill have a perfect video for all the naysayers to drool over.

This ROCKS! The best part is, in about a month when this blows over, we will be treated to muliple "Cliff you ratings systems sucks", "Why does everyone hate me" and "Who gave me a neg rating" threads. 10.62 or not, only a dumb**** would post a timeslip that wasn't his, but that goes wihtout being said. Where is the "Master of the Obvious" pic? I AM THE MASTER OF THE OBVIOUS MUAHAHAHAHAH...cough...ha...
I AM A PROFIT...or um somthing similar.Prophet....Behold I warned of threads, about this thread. Behold I have warned of false timeslips. But you have been cast down in to the pit, you will remain in the trash can forever. Now what was really cool? People getting spanked by Cliff. This threas doesnt rock quite as much, but it still rocks.

Nope. Because you can just as easily apply the boost to a larger displacement engine for yet even more power.

Steve
the differnece is the Porsche is a high-performance high-revving port injected built 4-cyl vs. the duke which is an economy 98hp low reving throttle body injection gas saver engine. I hope you were kidding about that, no duke fiero will ever take a porsche.
I just realized something. This is the first Trash Can thread in which our esteemed host is a major participant. I feel like I'm in good company.
Too bad all this had to even happen though. Talk about trashing your credibility.
It's interesting that everyone was speculating that the "real" time was in the 11s. I'm not even so sure about that, but if it was... Heck. 11s are nothing to sneeze at. Even 12s. Jeez.
I just read 6 pages of this crap. I want my hour back.
You guys defending the 8's are just as bad as fierox with the cockiness. It's the same pissing contest that has been played out time and time again. Don't think I'm jumping on a bandwagon here-I'm kinda sick of hearing about his 3.8 too.
And smooth-Some free advice for ya-Let It Slide! Everytime there is a war on this forum, you seem to be in the middle of it. Gt-X dug his own hole, he can get out of it. Not flaming you, just an observation.
Nope. Because you can just as easily apply the boost to a larger displacement engine for yet even more power.
You are 110% correct here. But none of the V8 guys seem daring enough to do it. I guess with the V8 alone they are plenty fast so there isnt a need really. Im done arguing, I have some work to get finished.

So, if he kicks my a$$ so what. It will still be fun and be a blast to watch after on video. Just having fun and feeling the rush is what it's all about anyway. I think many races are won by pure horsepower and tourque, but some are also won not only because of the engine but also because of the driver. I guess no duke would ever beat a Porsche.... if no one ever tries
Actually, I know a few Porsche's a duke could take. Not all Porsche's were fast. the base 914's had a 1.6L (I think thats the size) engine and it wasn't that fast. (The 2.0L ones were faster) The 924's of the mid 80's were also slow. Even the non-turbo 944's were not fast. (I know many that lost to stock V-6 Fiero's)
Yeah, this guys Porsche is not anything fancy like a 911 Targa or turbo anything like that. It's a base 944 (the ones with the fastback big rear bubble type window) that is set up for some kind of racing, but is street driven as well as he has driven it to work a few times. I have only seen it a few times and did not get a chance to look at it much. If we can get our cars to a track, it should prove to be interesting
