For your information I haven't done anything new lately with the Indy so I have nothing new lately to post about it "yet". If you want to see or read anything about it, go back and read some of my old posts. Jordan is constantly wanting to do things on his, and we would love to get it to a track and get some numbers on it sometime soon. So as all of these things come together it get's posted just like everyone else does when they do. At least you don't see me starting the 4001 thread on let's post pics of all your rides in here post. Sorry if my sons car upsets you sooo much. Let me take note of that and file it appropriatly. Lastly, I didn't see where you were given moderator rights anywhere on here so excuse me if at some point real soon I post a bit more as I see fit. BTW: I have just as much right to post my blah, blah, blah as you have to post your blah, blah, blah. Oh sorry, your witty blah, blah, blah. It's always been a manual. I know he has a 5 speed, but i'm not sure if he had a 4 speed in it back then or if it's always been a 5 speed. At any rate his GT could move pretty well even back in it;s early V6 days. I remember at the first Merrimack Bud Brewery POCI show he went to with the GT (where his GT's name the dirty rat originally came from as a matter of fact), he showed off a bit with it as he was heading back home. As he was leaving the parking area that was up and away from the people and cars still down in the field he quickly sped up and chirped the tires in second and third gears as he headed out

As we were running late, we were zipping right along more than a "bit" over the speed limit As Chester stated later: "Steve stuck to my bumper like a fly on $hit" and as both of our Fieros speedo's only went to 120mph, a relative of Chesters (don't recall now who it was) trying to follow us in a different rig said we were clocked at well over 120 mph during the time they could keep up. It was in one of those old archived 4 cyl bashing threads I think, so anyone with good PFF search skills should be able to find Chesters exact quote. Well, I know that Chester has had a lot on his mind lately with being out of work for so long, then having to move half way accross the country, getting his car and the limo out to Archies and on top of all of that having his home broken into while he was gone by his own son and all, so if he doesn't want to get into it here right now and just can't remember something that may not have been that important to him from almost 4 years ago at the moment I totally understand. He did admit in his odd reply at least that at times we had to "slow up" to let his buddy catch up, ie I was right behind him in my Fiero5 during all of that so take that part as you will. I tried a search again in the GF archives to find the thread where all this originally came up and Chester backed it up, but this happened in June of 2000 on the way to the OOB show. All the hits I could get only went back as far as 2001. Anyone have a PFF CD that has archived threads further back to 2000 that could find that thread?

This is just too funny! Yeah, I remeber that Fiero 5 was on my bumper and I did say that he was on my ass like "Flies on $hit" at one point. We were going over 120 and he was making me nervous because he was "ON MY BUMPER" and I mean literally about a foot away at such speed with Jordan in the car so I backed off. Plus we had a guy in an explorer that just couldn't hang that I slowed down for him since he had no idea where we were going.
Point in case is that I need to watch what I say to people. I never expected this to turn into a heated debate about the duke vs v6. The car was capable of more back then (boomtastic can attest) but I dropped down due to SAFETY CONCERNS
I can say that I was impressed with the way Fiero5's car did none the less, being a measly iron duck. My V6 did have 180,000 miles on it back then...
Seems that some of you just need to get a life and quit arguing about stupid $hit.

See, he backed up what happened just as he did in a thread before. Thank you Rob. Also, my comments were not at all trying to be an argument between 4 cyl vs. 6 cyl. I was merely trying to show that a few of my 4 bangers could do better than 85mph and could keep up with a V6 as some had tried to suggest otherwise against my statements.
So Gridlock, if you and Boomtastic are both still keeping score, I think the deafening blows have amazingly reversed themselves as I predicted, wouldn't you agree? (can you say egg?) I think it should at least be noted on your cute little score sheets you two have been keeping. Well, at least this is over now. I guess we don't need anyone to find that other thread now anymore. As for the safety concerns, I can handle myself fine, but obviously as Rob didn't know me that well back then he decided at some point as we were blasting up the turnpike to finally back off and not take any chances. Can't blame him for that and I don't have a problem with that at all. I also didn't take that as him meaning that that was the best his GT could do, as I know that isn't the case owning a few GT's myself. Keep in mind that going up the Maine turnpike, especially once you cross over the bridge from Portsmouth NH and start heading up towards OOB, that it isn't a quick 5 mile trip. We made the long trip up to the OOB exit in less than half the time it would have normally taken. It is a bit of a drive up to OOB and we were doing over 120mph for most of that drive up the turnpike. My Fiero5 handled doing that speed just fine and goes to show you that a 4 banger, though lacking a few more cylinders than a V6 obviously can still be pretty darn impressive. That was my point. All of this came out of my making that one point.
It's no biggie, but it wasn't Jordan who was with me either, it was my oldest son Stephen. He had his own Fiero at the time, but it was still a work in process at that time so he rode with me to the show in my Fiero5.
Lastly, I never said we were full out and I never said or implied that Chesters car wasn't capable of more. Man, go back and reread it again if you are having so much trouble with any of this and save us all from having to beat it to death just for you I said we were traveling faster than our 120 speedo's could display as they were pegged. I have a request from Chester. I just got my NX kit for my LT1, and im scared shitless to use it. If and when you use yours, can you LMK how the tranny holds. Its only gonna be a hundred shot, and im using a caddy tranny, so in theory it should hold, but theorys a stupid if you ask me!! So I figure if your beast can hold, then my little wuss of a motor shouldnt cause me any grief. Thanks alot dude!!
