ya know what, trevor is right. You guys talk **** on me, about these awesome V8 fieros and how fast they are. And one guy goes so far as to make a fake timeslip to try and put me in place. Didnt work, too many people saw through it, and I laughed my ass off the second I saw it. So now in the other corner we have 80's boy bench racing with his buddies car and how bad ass it is. Ive never even seen a picture of it. So heres what needs to be done. Remember back months ago when we talked about having a V6 vs V8 shootout? we need to have that. This fall when it cools off some, we will set up a time and place and have it. Somewhere at a nice track where the bigdogs are within a near distance. Ennis sounds good to me, if its ok with you guys. Set it up a few months ahead of time, so we can advertise on the forum, and people that are into making trips (like the 20th and the Dells) can come and watch fiero history be made. No more sh1t talking, just racing. All or nothing.

Enough with the BS, Lets do it. Im ready!

Yay! I got in before the move to the trash can.

That's sounds like a great idea. However, I would like to inject that there should also be an AutoX and a trip to a Road coarse. Cars can actually make turns, you know.

BTDT - We did this already at the 20th event. You were suspiciously absent - from the biggest Fiero event of probably the last 5 years at least, in spite of several other members of the Wichita crew showing up.

No disrespect to Tony, I met him in San Antonio and he seemed like a good guy, but shouldn't there be hoses and belts on that engine? I don't think it's gonna run too fast like that...

ive never seen his 20,000 dollar car crack an intake or whatever it was and have antifreeze pour in his oil. Antifreeze is the worst thing for bearings btw. Probably cut that engine's life in half. And yes, a 430hp engine with a 5-speed in a car that weighs approximately just 30lbs more than a stock automatic GT will run 13's. Actually it probably weighs around the same as your car, since he has aluminum heads while yours has out dated iron heads, he has the lighter 5 speed vs your much heavier automatic, then theres the slightly extra weight of him being a fastback so really, everything should almost even out even if you think 2 more cylinders weighs 500lbs and makes any v-8 car automatically slower than yours

Yes! My car, by the numbers, should run around 10.5 @ 125 MPH, but that's on slicks and LOTS of traction. What it will do in real life is another story that will eventually be played out once I can afford the rims to mount the slicks on to .... (I was thinking about taking up a collection - $240 a rim nowadays is a bit steep for me. )

Oh, and Smoooooth - anyone that tells you "yes there are math errors in it i also added them on purpose" is REALLY full of shiznat! Times are computed, and are accurate. There are no "math errors" when it comes to CompuLink systems.

I'm in as long as your not planning on having this too far away! Where the hell is Ennis? I'll be in Frankfort, KY soon. I'm starting a new job and don't know what the "time off" thing will look like but I for one would LOVE to put you in your place. Be sure to send me the details when available.
We can make it interesting an have a $300-$500 entry fee. Winner takes all. Like you say, put up or shut up. I can use some play money right now.
Oh, and BTW, people that know me know I don't just "talk $hit"
Rules should be very simple - run what you brung - anything goes. Fastest down the track wins.
How does THAT grab ya?
Wanna run with the big dawgz, better be prepared to get bit.
This will be my only post on this matter. I'm not into the "chest thumping" thing. You can always reach me via PM.

Rob D.

BTW here is a pic of my car in case you missed it -

I just found that Ennis is in Texas. Now THAT'S really central. Lets try another location there "Big Dawg" as I'm NOT traveling that far just to prove a point unless there is some substantial $$$$ to gain. Get my drift. How about Ed Parks swap meet in Alabama? Any decent tracks there??

I like Fieros..........

one day I'll get my V8 Fiero done and then you can all talk **** about it! It'll be fun....come on guys.....this has gone from some crazy ass guy posting a fake time slip (supposedly)to the X-files (who can we trust???) to smoooooth getting slammed, to X talkin **** (surprise surprise ) to a V8 vs. V6 pissing match.....again!

V8's are big
V6's are smaller....until you force a bunch of air in! forced induction is artificial displacement! Accept that! It's all good, just a different way of doing things!
Geeeeeeeez....you'd think this was the mustang forum! So many people talkin **** ....dont we get that enough!!!
"hey isnt that one of those cars that caught fire?"
"why didnt you get a camaro?"
"nice dashboard! lol!"
cheer up guys! We're all fiero nerds here!
have a nice day!

First of all if your replyin on the motor that is in GT-X's car it does fit. I HAVE SEEN IT PERSONALLY. Second of all have any of you bone heads ever notice that when someone on here does something really good everyone just looks at the thread but dosn't say anything at all. Second, when someone does put a thread on here like GT-X had about this fake time slip did you ever think he was doing it to prove a point. And that point is that most of the people on here dont really have much of a life and can only pull people down instead of just laughin at his thread! First Fiero X, you do have a outstanding car! GT-X has never talked **** about you or anything you have done with it. I am not picking on you by any means you have helped alot of people in here but for the rest of you that jumped on the band wagon for ripping on GT-X it just proves his point on how much of you act and treat other forum memebers. When I joined this forum it was pretty cool. I just wish Cliff would watch these threads a lil closer and maybe even start booting some memebers for their actions on this page. I'm sorry to say even though some of these people are seen as adults they can't act like them here. Just my 2 cents worth. For the last statement I am going to make about this thread is that GT-X did it purposely! And he was right on how people would attack it. Plus the sad thing of it all is that some of you that has attacked it wouldn't even know it was a phonnie time slip if others didn't point it out before hand. In my eyes those people are truely sad.

Dave

I wanted to go so bad, I heard the V8 cars were running 15's out there. But I just started a new job at a body shop on July 8th and couldnt get the time off.

As for driving to Alabama from Kansas, thats an 18 hour drive. Plus arent there only 1/8 mile tracks in AL? I vote for Ennis. Its one of the best prepared and lowest altitude tracks in the country.

This should be interesting.

You know X, it's funny on how I knew you'd say that. Pick something central to us both if you want to prove your point. If not then just drop this V6 / V8 debate. Seems you only want to square off againt the stock boys. You have a fast car and you've done well but it's NOT the best thing since sliced bread.

OK chester, this bench racing debate was between 80's boy + cardealer, and me. They are from Texas (not sure where 80's boy is exactly, but cardealer is in Houston, and Im in Wichita Ks. Its about a 6 hour drive to Ennis from where im at, and probably 5 from Houston. Now all of a sudden you wanna jump in on the fun (which I dont have any problem with) and wanna change venues because you are a few more states away.

Have you even taken your car to the track yet? I know youve got a big bad V8 but are you sure you wanna play?

No we didn't. Because that would be even more nonsensical and stupid than just faking a timeslip. By just thinking he faked a timeslip just to brag, we are actually giving him some credit.

And that point is that most of the people on here dont really have much of a life and can only pull people down instead of just laughin at his thread!

Rrrrrrrrright. So who's got the life here? The person that cares about their hobby (their Fiero) and get p'd when someone mocks with that, or the person that goes through all the trouble of faking a timeslip, and continue to claim he didn't fake it?

quote
...that jumped on the band wagon for ripping on GT-X it just proves his point on how much of you act and treat other forum memebers.

Rrrrrrrrrrrright (again).

When I joined this forum it was pretty cool. I just wish Cliff would watch these threads a lil closer and maybe even start booting some memebers for their actions on this page.

Rrrrrrrright. I should boot people for pointing out someone is lying to us.

quote
For the last statement I am going to make about this thread is that GT-X did it purposely!

BTW, you said that already.

quote
And he was right on how people would attack it. Plus the sad thing of it all is that some of you that has attacked it wouldn't even know it was a phonnie time slip if others didn't point it out before hand.

Which is exactly why pointing it out in the first place was a good thing.

quote
In my eyes those people are truely sad.

Well, let me tell you why your and GT-X story is utter BS.

First of all, look at the threads again. And I mean all the threads. From the hundreds of new threads that are posted daily, only a very few get no response. But by far the most threads get plenty of replies. So the "point" he is trying to make is BS. In a big way. He was caught with his pants down, period. If he thought this would be a good way to prove a point (by knowingly lying to his fellow forum members and by knowingly starting a flamewar and all this without even a single PM or email to me) then by all means, tell me now. Because if so, I will immediately ban his a$$ from this forum. The reason I haven't banned him is because he simply made a boo-boo and he was caught. That's it. But if I find out he did this for the sole purpose to start a flamewar, then he's outta here.

In conclusion, two words: Sock Puppet.

1st, cardealer is from Austin and it's the TRACK that is in Houston, dumbass. 2nd, the last time you were challenged to a race we didn't hear from you for 6 months. 3rd, you BETTER be kissing Cliff's ass if you plan to "contribute" any more to the Forum since you are so popular here.

Now all of a sudden you wanna jump in on the fun (which I dont have any problem with) and wanna change venues because you are a few more states away.

Have you even taken your car to the track yet? I know youve got a big bad V8 but are you sure you wanna play?

I really don't want to hijack this thread but it kinda relates.

?????????????????

I wasn't aware that this was a privte debate between the three of you. This is what you wrote;

Set it up a few months ahead of time, so we can advertise on the forum, and people that are into making trips (like the 20th and the Dells) can come and watch fiero history be made. No more sh1t talking, just racing. All or nothing. "

You thrashed other V8 owners as well (like Crazy D). I just wanted to see if you really backed all your chest thumping.
You jumped right in here to tear the credibility of this post apart because it was a thread that was V8 related. You have a fast car, no doubt but when your ready for a reality check, come see me along with some $$$$.

Oh, and it's all in good fun you know!

No not the track in Ennis dipshit, the track in which we were referring to back in January is the Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, Texas which is on the outskirts of Houston. Didn't mean to confuse you. I'm sorry you couldn't remember that far back. Yes, the track in which we now speak is in Ennis, Texas. Geez.

Tyler

Sorry, but from my point of view if GT-X says he "faked" it "just to get a response", Why is it after it was mathematically proven to be faked does he post the above quote?
He faked the times, He was caught.
BTW ~ The time slip he posted is incorrect mathematically, Also he claims to have 508HP. Unless his car is stripped and weigh's in at just under 2500lbs he can't be at 10.6 in the 1/4 mile. At 508hp with a 2900lbs car (Using Tina's V-8 coupe as a reference for weight) he would be running about 11.4, So again the mathematics of his claims prove him to be incorrect.
