This kind of manipulation of the truth is nothing new, and certainly not an exclusive product of the Fiero forum. I can appreciate your tenure of 6 months might make you a bit jaded and worldly, but I can tell you that I have seen more inflated claims and outright bullsh!t on this forum, and I've seen the fallout that occurs when people swallow the hook, line, and sinker. Trust me, you need the cynics on this forum to rip away the nonsense and dispel the myths.
I am completely flabbergasted at the smooth one's steadfast defense of this sham. Especially considering how he crucified the West Coast people for unknowingly passing on some bad information. Now he is guilty of participating in this hoax. Shame on you Smooth.
As far as Hugh needing videotape evidence and a notarized affidavit from witnesses when he gets his stuff going, I say "Huh?". Hugh has been around long enough and has the respect that I afford to very few on this forum. If he says he's got it, I wouldn't even insult him by asking for proof. But that kind of respect must be earned, and that takes a damn sight longer then 6 months.
I spent the last hour reading this thread (don't you just those love lazy rainy Sundays?). Anyway, I have zero knowledge when it comes to drag strips since I have never been to one, and the same goes for photoshopping.
But as part of the PFF Jury, I have to agree with the PFF Police that it appears that X's claim is based on the evidence they presented.

GT-X got caught with his pants around his ankles, there's no doubt about that. I don't know enough about drag racing to really care one way or the other, but I, like most people, really don't appreciate being huckstered.
At this point any slip related to GT-X is going to be irrelevant, even if he does do a 10 second run. The conspiracy theories and secret evidence play even worse to this crowd than the fake slip.

I usually try to go with what's right, not with what everyone else does. Once, I was the only person in class with the correct answer to a problem, and I changed it because everyone else's was different. I literally yelled "argh!" in class when I found out the answer I had before was right. I laugh to myself now whenever I think about that day...
But in this case, it's clear from evidence all over the place that GT-X has lied his way through this whole thing. I believe what JazzMan is trying to say is don't get stuck behind with someone who's willing to lie to your face. I made that mistake way too many times in life to be jerked around by someone like this, and I hate to see you being jerked around by GT-X.
And for the record, I haven't yet rated you. You're stickin' up for the guy, which is admirable, but you're sticking up for the wrong kind of guy...

ok...so the car does exist. Now...how do we know that its a LT4? LT1's are identical. Not saying it isn't a LT4 but after all this crap now we have to question EVERYTHING.
Now for all you guys complaining about us that are questioning GT-X. What would you do if he showed up at a car show...in your class...and put a sign on the front of his car stating that it ran 10 sec quarter miles? Don't you think that would get him more than one vote? Would that be far? think about it.
I have seen the car in person. It was before the engine went into it (was sitting on the cradle next to it). Never paid much attention to if it was a LT1 or LT4. Didnt think I had to.
Okay I just spent an hour or so of my own time reading this thread, and have come to the following conclusions:
GT-X, despite seeming like a nice enough guy in person (I met him at my reluctant visit to the Dells), has ruined any credibility he may have once had with this cunning Internet stunt, by failing to be enough of a man to admit it was the obvious charade that it is, and by attempting to propagate it with even more obvious lies. Jennifer Gilbert et al pulled a similar prank about this time last year too, and they were at least wise enough to repent for it quickly.
Smooooth GT's ass-kissing naivete has finally bitten him in his own ass. This forum's contempt of your actions is well-deserved.
FieroX is still a napoleonic egomaniac who can't stand being removed from the spotlight, even when it's by someone who lied to do it. If what those who have met you in person say is true, that you're actually a lot less of a jerk offline, I hope you eventually find a way to bridge these two dissimilar personas. In another year or two, if you grow up like the rest of us, you will look back on the way you are behaving now and be ashamed.
