Hi,

Just was curious, with all the drop outs you have had. Any idea when you might be looking at a ship date for the items that we have paid for. No hurry, just curious that I can figure out with everything else when this might be coming in.

Thanks much,

David

I have worked out a deal with the company that is making the shipping boxes to ship them for me also. The shipping cost for me will only be about $150 per box more than through the full container. That means they will cost me about $1500 dollars to send the noses to you instead of the almost $5000 I was looking at before. The shipping boxes are being specially made for the pieces and will be ready by next week. Then the shipping will be done!

This way I can ship the boxes seperately and don't have to wait to fill a container. The company was suppose to have the boxes ready this week but I haven't heard from them yet. I'll contact them tomorrow to find out what the status is. I really hope to be shipping the pieces by the end of next week at the latest.

I'm confused.... you say the that the the cost of shipping went from $5000 to $1500 but the shipping cost is $150 more per box?? I must be missing something- please clarify

Originally the pieces cost almost $1300 per piece to ship per UPS or DHL. I then tried to contract a small 20' sea container to ship the pieces to the US. I can fit 24 pieces in the container that would have brought the price per piece down to about $500. Once I gave the OK for the people to start paying for the pieces that were ordered (21 pieces) some of the people decided to back out of the deal. To ship 10 pieces per container was no longer an option. That meant I was looking at shipping the pieces seperately per a shipping company and it would have cost me about $5000 more to ship the 10 pieces than was originally planned per the full container.
I have now found another company that is willing to ship the seperate pieces for about $150 more than has been paid. The extra costs I will pay myself. So yes I am VERY happy to only pay $1500 dollars more to ship these pieces than the $5000.

By the way, are you interested in anything?

Very interested in the nose... in fact, I'm not ashamed to say I dream about it. Problem is, I'm new to this Fiero scene and the 3800SC swap is what got me interested. So, I bought a very clean, but not running, 87 GT with the sole purpose of doing the swap. I've been waiting on parts from WCF for over a month to finish it up (I went for the steel flywheel for some stupid reason and the blanks are taking forever). While I had everything pulled out, I decided to upgrade to solid cradle mounts, poly motor/trans mounts, new ball joints all around, brake upgrade....... ect. Anyway, I've dumped about 4 grand into this $550 car already and it's no were near running yet. The nose is perfect but I can't justify the cost due to the shipping- hence I hoped you found a way to ship them for $150ea and I would have thought REAL seriously.

Sorry no. I am still looking for something even better but no dice yet. The problem is the size!! The things don't weight squat!! But they are big and the shipping companys want lots of $$$ for the shipping.

Sorry I couldn't help you.

Just a thought.... If you have any desire for that front end, go for it. This is the only time they are going to be available. Ever. Right previous to these being available, I had made a huge investment in my business and as such could ill afford to purchase this also. But I got both the nose and the rear for I felt this would be a one time oppertunity to do such. Sadly, I was right.

The shipping is by freight. It could take around 6 - 8 weeks I think. I won't lay my hand in fire for that but that is what thew shipping company told me is the normal time frame.

HI JC, we would be very interested in what ever option you can find that is cheaper. A lot of people don't order anything because of the huge shipping prices. So depending on what the prices could be then the amount of boxes could be maybe 10 boxes per quarter. Right now I am shipping out 8 boxes with 2 more as soon as the pieces are delivered to me.

I will take a measurement of the actual size of the box on Monday. Special boxes were made for the pieces to get them as small as possible. I had to order 50 to get the company to make the boxes. So I am sitting on a few extras at the moment!!
