Oh yeah, Flamberge......I can't believe you still have that white GT! I think I went through 13 Fieros, a Civic, a Fiat, a 4Runner, a Saturn, an Austin-Healey and an old Chevy van since you bought that car!! Crazy! I think the longest I ever held onto one Fiero was an '88 GT I bought in 1997 (sold in 2004).....about 7 years or so.
It's been a long time.....glad you are still around and your Fiero is still kickin'.
I remember you had a maroon GT and a very low mileage black GT that I thought you were crazy to drive around. Then you got the convertible.
I regret that I haven't been to a mile high Fiero meeting in about 5 years. (Do you guys still have them?)
If I can ever afford a Solstice, I'll sell my GT - probably give one of you guys first dibs. Otherwise I'll just keep it forever. It's still fun to drive, and people still make comments about it.

Yep.....I bought that black GT in 1997 with 10K miles and sold it 7 years later with 19K miles. I actually cried the day the guy drove off in it. The maroon T-Top GT is still around.....I sold it to some friends of mine who own a transmission shop, which was apropos since the Getrag grenaded on a road trip back in 2001. I sold the convertible last year after a failed attempt at being a restaurateur. I have been Fiero-less ever since.
Mile High Fieros is still around, although technically it is not the same club that I started back in 1997 (or was it 1996??). I don't attend many functions since I no longer own a Fiero and since I used to live up in Ft. Collins (too far to drive). Now I am off to Vegas to start a new chapter in my life....hopefully it has a good ending! Check out http://www.milehighfieros.com for info on the new club....there is even a forum as well as other links and whatnot. I believe the next meeting is on March 9th.
If you ever do sell your GT keep me in mind. I want another Fiero badly! In all honesty, I will likely get one before you are ready to sell, but you never know.....by then I may be in a position to own 2 Fieros again!

I am so glad I got spell check LOL. I forgot what all I had planned, Now that I have rode in a chop top I am not going that route even though I loved it. I am not going with the SBC either, I am currently planning on making mine a 3800, though my wife is still getting a 4.9.
I still dream of someday having a convertible and am still working toward one.
Our shop closed suddenly when the mechanic was offered much more money to work out on the road, then after years of me working in a factory he brought me out on the road as well.
I went from one Fiero in the garage to (soon to be) 7 in the yard I have 2 to pick up when I get home. Man this is like a sickness here.
I never looked back. Brad

That did the trick. I was searching the individual archives, and didn't have the option to sort by date. Whoopsie! Here is my first post:
I said this is my first post in this thread but that may have meant first post in technical, just don't really remember that far back. Patrick advises me to switch to ATF in the clutch hyd system. LOL Oh yes, the ATF debacle! https://www.fiero.nl/forum/A...000815-2-001627.html

Ouch!
I certainly wasn't the first one here to promote the use of ATF in the Fiero hydraulic clutch system way back when, but I was probably guilty of "pushing" it more than anyone else. The reason being that after years of frustration with my own Fiero's hydraulic clutch, ATF solved my problem completely. Honestly, it really did. I felt like a born again Christian, I desperately wanted to spread the word. However, I'm also aware that several members here totally screwed up their systems by trying the ATF, and I still feel bad after all these years that I may have contributed somewhat to their grief.
So, almost nine years afterwards, I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to the fellas who had trouble after trying the ATF. I'm sorry I was so adamant that it would work for everyone.
I joined in July 2003 so I'm guessing this is the first thread. I never introduced myself nor stated, "I'm a newbee." I jumped right in and acted liked like I've been here before. ------------------

It looks like I missed the first year the forum was open. Thanks Cliff for many hours of enjoyment and thanks to everyone for all of the help they have given me.
And just so you know I have not been able to update my old web site for about 8 years.

A younger stupidly optimistic guy, buying my 85 GT. I was raving about how it was this awesome car and ran like a dream.. What a moron. THe following 6 or 7 months were me riddling the forum for questions for stuff ranging to the loose ass steering column to the shitty heater core, to the busted up vacuum lines, new shocks and struts, that shiiiittty 'brand new' clutch, and TONS of other stuff that went wrong with it. That car was worth like 500 bucks if THAT for what all I had to do to it. Wish I had brought my step-dad with me at that time cause he'd have laughed at the guy. Man I was stupid AND blind =/
By the way, that car ended up getting cold because that brand new clutch he said he put in it burnt out in less than a year after I bought it. What a shame.
I'm happier with my new Fiero. =P A soon to be-build thread is gonna get posted tonight or tomorrow detailing the car and everything i'm gonna do to it.
