That is a good reminder for me. I'll make some flyers today and put them on the site for download.
We took the HHR to a cruise night last night too. Lots of nice cars showed up, including two more HHRs.
That looks like the Sonic by your house.........after I picked up my truck I stopped off there for lunch with my friend before heading back to San Jose. Walked around the whole building TWICE before I realized you dont go inside......

I'm not going to be able to make it. The transmission I got has a problem and I'm leaving for school in two days so I don't have time to get a new one.

Hey Eric, its a FWD Getrag from a 1990 Olds Calais with a HO Quad 4. I swapped bellhousings with a Cavalier Z24 Getrag and put new diff bearings on it (made sure to set the preload properly). It makes an incessant scraping/rubbing/grinding sound whenever the car is moving. It gets louder if I go faster. With the rear jacked up if I spin both wheels it manifests itself as a click many times people wheel revolution (so I don't think its the diff bearings). There is no vibration or anything but I don't think the noise is going away ;-) Everything looked perfect when I had it apart to swap cases and put new diff bearings on. I'm not sure where to look but I'm guessing something to do with the output shaft bearings since the sound is not affected by engine RPM or the clutch. I'm not quite sure how I'm getting down to LA on Monday, but I'll bring the transmission down if I can so I can do the whole rebuild on it if it needs more than just an output shaft bearing. I already have discussion thread here starting with when I broke the Isuzu and got this thing. http://realfierotech.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=4231&start=80 Let's try not to get Dale's Coast Run thread too off topic ;-)

Kit, this Sonic is actually over towards Oildale. It is about 5 times as big as the one by my house. There were about 75+ cars there Friday night. I think the one by my house might hold 25. But we used to have Fiero gatherings at the one by my house before we decided just to get together at my house.
Steven, I'm not going to count you out yet. You've still got just over a month. Hopefully it is nothing serious. If you end up needing a tranny, I might know where you can find one.
thank you, definatly sounds fun. i just bought my fiero (86 GT) 2 days ago. searched online for some info on it and wow you guys have a pretty tight (and large) community. ill look into my schedule when i get home and signup.

Yeah but I only have two days to finish my car. If I don't finish it by Monday I can't drive it to UCLA with me so I wouldn't be able to finish it for the Coast Run. I should have the tranny apart in a couple hours. If its something I can easily fix I'll know right away.

If you need it, I am sure someone up that way has a tranny you can trade them out of. Like I said, I can probably get you one but it would be down here and you are up there. Good luck!

Well I pulled the tranny apart and found whats wrong.
This is just stupid. The new bolts I used on the diff ring gear are apparently slightly taller than the factory ones.. so they were lightly interfering with the bracket that holds the output shaft bearing race in. I just might be able to get this thing back together before I go down to school... hopefully this is the only problem!

Get it together Steven cuz I would like to see that Porche wheels in person.
Remember... Just like last year we will have a special auction for anyone wearing any kind of official Coast Run 2006 attire on Saturday night.
Do you have to be present? Can I be in the special auction if I wear a Coast Run shirt to the cowgirl wedding? No, I guess not! Beautiful work, tho, as usual! I'll look forward to the link with the full line of Coast Run gear!

Oh yeah I have a discount number if anyone needs it.
BTW just my opinion Dale. The sweatshirts are a decent deal I think and they are well made and thick .The shirts on the other hand seem kinda pricey to me. I buy the xlarge cause I'm a fat ass and it costs another 3 bucks on top of shipping so it adds up for a shirt.

Sorry about that... It is the cost of convenience of being able to order any size you want any time you want. I make $4.00 off each shirt which usually brings me up to about $0.20 per hour for the time I spend creating it. The alternative is to make a design that I have printed locally. I have to decide how many of each size to print and then I either run out of the size everyone wants or get stuck with lots of extras that I just have to eat the cost of. Cafepress is the ones that make the money on these., not me. You know, if I was a rich man I'd just print em all out and give them to people just for showing up.

I aint harpin on ya. I like the sweatshirts. I bought two now. They are very nice I just think Cafepress could cut us some slack on the shirts but for all I know those sweatshirts cost them as much as the shirts.
You're not rich? Well I guess we'll keep you. Besides who else could we con into doing this for us.

I didn't think you were. I just wanted to clarify in case someone thought I was actually trying to make money from this thing.

Dale,
After 5 years of doing Westfest...if anyone was trying to make money in the industry, they would know by now it isn't going to be made by selling t-shirts and hosting Fiero events! You're lucky if you break even! All the work you do is a work of love and charity to your fellow Fiero friends and to the Fiero automobile. We all know you work real hard and give everything you've got to make the Coast Run a memorable event for us. Thank you!!

Realized I have a month or so to get ready and I finally got home from work at a decent time and the weather is nice. Working on the car for a few hours, if anyone wants to drop by and hang out, (concord area) call my cell (925) 876-0353.
Will probably try to work on the car more this weekend...sundayish

I've been working on my car and Brianna's all day. If anyone has any burgundy front end parts laying around Brianna would appreciate a good price on buying them! (Hood, driver's fender, late GT nose) Both cars have been sitting forever! I have driven the T-top once this year I think. I planned to have the 355 ready in time for the Coast Run again but when you deal with losers things never go on schedule. So the T-top is coming out of moth balls. I bought Brianna's car two and a half years ago with intentions of having it fixed right away but spddy was too busy so it has been sitting all this time. For once, I am trying to get a jump on it this year so I am not working on the cars right up till time to leave!
Jen, I am thinking that we will probably go to Baja Cantina again this year. It has been three years since we have been there. They were the chosen restaurant for the very first Coast Run. They have a good parking lot, the food was good and reasonably priced, and they don't require us to make any deposits or anything. It hasn't been finalized yet but that it the way it is leaning.
Mary, thanks for the kind words. The Coast Run is a lot of work but I love doing it. I just wouldn't want anyone to get the wrong idea.

Oh crap....apparently I wasnt checking my company work calender too closely....turns out we are having "quarter end" that very weekend. So, this means I'm out... Too bad because I just got my Darrel Morse strut tower brace on and wanted to really test it out. (Yes Roy, I finally got one after waiting for a year!)
Baja Cantina , cool! I really liked that restuarant. I thought they had good food.
Kit-- I think you'll be "sick" that weekend. Right? lol
Dale, I know we have a hood with no clear coat and pretty sure we got a fender too. Fender might have a small crack, but it's better than nothing. I can double check on it in the morning.

Tell Rick to throw some goodies in the back of the Jeep and ya'll come on down and check out my new toy. We need to have that BBQ! I put the headlights in today and tomorrow I need to remove the drivers side lower aero panel so I can put a front drivers fender on. After that it is just all bolt-on stuff on Brianna's car.
I went over tonight for the monthly show and shine of the Bakersfield Trailblazers 4x4 club. They had some badass Jeeps over there. Ya'll need to come down for that some time so Rick can talk hardware with these folks. Most of them are pretty hard core.

BBQ does sound good, just not sure when we will have the time. The front fender we have is rough, clear coat peeling and the front area has small piece missing and small crack, but if ya can't find anything better they are yours if you want them.
Yeah I fixed it and got to LA on Tuesday. It seems to be working fine so far. I went up Latigo Canyon today and had some fun with it. The grip with my new wheels/tires is just ridiculous!
