Well, I personally don't really care about the drama or working prototypes. Ideas are where the gold nuggets are, and that's what I'm after. I'm planning reverse scissor doors for my concept, except the're coming straight up - no out-n-up motion - and I need all the ideas I can get. I don't have, nor can I justify $2k on a set of hinges, so I will be making my own, and despite all the BS, there are asome really good ideas in this thread & the DIY Vertical Doors thread. So, if any of you have any more recent drawings or ideas, and don't feel like posting them with the drama, please feel free to PM me so we can privately discuss them. Thanks!

Wow! I was so busy trying to get my own life and business in order I completely forgot all about these threads! I sold the car (Camaro) I was contemplating doing this type of door on and after my initial infatuation with the concept faded it all went away.

Has anyone, anywhere, ever successfully done this on any car - even as a one-off custom thing?
