How do you get to this place anyway? I'm in my car right now, and I just passed a mountain with 4 United States presedents heads engraved in it? Am I almost there ?
Finally_Mine_86_GT called me and told me he isn't going to be able to make it. He ran into mechanical problems on the way. He said something about his Check Wallet light coming on, and for him it's a bit longer drive then the rest of us so it was best for him to turn around and head back home.
We will only charge him $50 as a late cancellation fee hehehehehe.

You guys are hilarious. Well Ed and Ryan are on their way, they had to come back once because there was some smoke coming out of the headlight they fixed. Anyway the came back for the fire extinguisher just in case. Too funny.

well i got home safe... rear wheel bearing is almost gone, shifter select cable and shifter all toast. and i found out why my "give your wallet to your car" light came on... egr vacume hose crap... thankfully that's only $0.20 at the parts store. I got home about 1. somebody post some pics please. Sorry i coudn't make it. i tried my darndest. i think the late fee is going to be worse then the repairs... errr scratch that... that shift cable and shifter is going to kill me let alone the bearing. that's what i get for owning a 20+ year old car. it's ok though. at least i got the bugs out before the "fiero's at the glen".

Glad you got home safe. $.020 for egr vacuum hose? damn I paid way to much, and got it going everywhere but under the plenum (cause if I remove it I will probably break something). I just had the wheel bearing replaced too. We have to much in common. Maybe I should be glad mine is an auto.
pics? .....oh darn I am always forgetting something.
It ended up being a bit cold after all, probably because it was so windy. This was the first time I wore gloves in a long time. Next time we will find a good place for pics. These pics are cropped and resized to fit. Anyone wanting the originals at 2592 x 1944 resolution please email me and let me know which pics, or if you want them all.

Sorry you had so many problems, it's always an adventure every time you take one of these cars for a long drive. Even though I've rebuilt mime from the ground up I get paranoid every time I hear an unfamiliar sound. Ed and John took pics, my camera batteries were dead, so I couldn't. Hopefully they will get around to posting them soon.
BTW, I can understand the issue with the wheel bearing, but what happened to your shifter mechanism - was its' failure related to the bearing?
If you don't already know, the parts you need can be purchased from the Fiero Store in Conn. (Rodney Dickman has some nice shifter parts too, check him out). From where you live, if you order on Monday morning, you should have them by Tuesday. Don't forget to order by phone and ask for the 10% discount from Pennock's (although the parts you need may not qualify).
Hope you can make it next time.
Mike
The internet is amazing, in the two-minutes it took me to type this, three more posts came up, with the pics too!! Nice job guys!

now if you notice the time stamp, these last few pics were taket at 2:22. Afterwards we said goodbye, I went back inside to wash my hands and then left. I only had to go 5 miles to reach the parkway, but before I got that far. The next two pics ended up being taken.
[This message has been edited by Gecko (edited 01-20-2007).]
Only a few mins later, and while still in the same town, another Gecko was spotted. I pulled off the road and tried not to get ran over.
and now, less then 30mins from the parking lot pics (and while still in town, not even 5miles away yet) I see this.
I drove behind him, on the side, and infront of him, but it seemed he didn't even notice me. So I didn't attempt to stop him, but how could he be slow close and miss our meeting.
that's all the pics I have. I had a good time, enjoyed meeting all of you and look forward to doing this again.

thanks for the pics and advise but i really don't have the $$$ to go nuts and get what i need so it's going to have to wait till i can think of something. the shifters select cable was tight before i left and i knew it but i was just going to drive down anyway without 5th gear or reverse. i'll try to get a pic of the shifter assembly tomorrow. the metal cracked, probably from being cold and me beating it to try for 5th this morning. the select cable i can take out and free up somehow. my only sevear problem is that bearing. i was going to get a pic of me on the side of the road but i didn't want to remember that too much. on the bright side of all of this i saw another fiero in my area i need to track down. it was a red fastback with grey trim and just as dirty as the above pics. nice right? first things are first... get a job and get mine back up to where it should be. I'm going to try and do a full tear down and rebuild this coming spring right after the fiero's at the glen event. but i think this crappy 2.8 is going out the window when that happens. i want another 383 stroker fiero
Edit: how many "WTF?" looks did you get? i love those.

HAY YOU GUYS>>>THAT WAS GREAT!!!! We must do this again, soon. Encellent pictures, considering the jammed parking lot. FinallyMine-We'll get together with ya. You sound like a neet guy. Patch up your little plastic hot rod by next meeting. Wish you could have made it. Oh yea, I wish I would have know you needed a job three weeks ago. The company I work for just hired a guy, I definately could have gotten you in if I would have know about this then. I work for a metal fab shop in New Brunswick. Download their site, www.McNichols.com You can still come down and fill out an appliction. Be sure to mention my name. Gecko- "Go to Jersey shore and head east?" Funny man, really funny...buy the way, since when does New Jersey have a shoreline? Come to think of it, what state is New Jersey in anyway? Ed- Once again, your the guy who came up with this crazycool idea. Two questions here. Who's gonna be "Chairman of the Board" so to speak, and whens the next meeting? RYAN- Remember, keep it under 50 ! Have fun with your new toy ! Mike- I figured out the PM page, so send me your number, OK? Cathy- at the meeting the question arose on what to call the club. Girls are smart, try to think of something. Us gearheads couldn't come up with anything catchy. And for the rest of you who couldn't make it this time, I know this is gonna turn into something good, we had too much fun and really enjoyed each others company. So we'll be seeing you all next time. The more, the merrier.....

Gecko John...can you figure out the plate number on that salt-red Fiero? I have a connection where I can get its home. I'll track it down and try to get him involved.

plate number sent in Private Message. I too have one of those connections, but I try to save it for when the driver is a hot girl.

When I saw that billboard I thought, this is to funny to pass up, so I turned around and parked, there was no shoulder but my car is capable of going off road since it's a daily driver. I wasn't sure if the door was going to open enough for me to get out without it scraping the ground considering the angle it was at.
When I saw the salt lick, I thought wow, I hope this wasn't one of the guys who was concerned about the salt, and he got lost somewhere.
Nobody mentioned the coincidence involving the waitress.
WTF looks, I think people were probably to cold, plus we didn't get to park together until the end of the meet.
I was tempted to go find the "Pride" location that Frenzy mentioned but I was just to tired to go wandering around town.

Gecko- You would have never foung the "Pride" wall. Its behind Spotswood High School. The walls blue, with giant yellow letters . Your yellow GT would look excellent in a picture by the wall. Come back up sometime, and I'll take you there.

Here are some ideas we came up with for a club name, add Fiero Club to each name:
Redline Fiero Club G- Force 5 Alarm Fast Lane The Rattilers Plastic Fantastic Open Road
Do you like any of these? Personally I like Redline, it's simple and not too long. Feel free to add on to the list and then we can all vote for a name.

WAGGINTAIL - I kind like PLASTIC FANTASTIC....reminds me of the Jefferson Airplane song. Open Road is defintely out. Theres a big "Open Road" Honda dealer by me, waving a huge Americn flag out front. Maybe if that dealership wasn't there, the Ford plant a few miles up the road would still be there employing people. Catch my drift? How's about "EASY PASS FIERO CLUB"? Keep thinking, when we hit on the right one, we'll know it. Finally MIne - There used to be an excellent Fiero parts supplier in Connecticut called Kickhill Farms. The owners name is Ed Parks if I remember correctly. He had excellent deals, I did business with him often. Check out his web-site. You may be able to get what you need thru him. Gecko - I'm calling you up right now- so get out of bed and answer the phone. I know if I was a cute chick you'd be up and waiting....sorry dude. : (
I kinda like Redline Fiero Club too, but I agree when we find that "right one" we will know it. I like the Acronym idea Finally Mine is going along with. Maybe not so much the choices, but the idea (no offense ofcourse). Fiero's Ultra Cool ......oh wait scratch that idea hahahaha.
You knew I was in bed huh. Funny how that works with the "if you were a girl" thing, I probably never would have went to sleep LOL.
Just woke up, showered, went to to church, about to eat dinner and then watch the episodes I missed of "Justice"

i really didn't like the actual standings for the acronyms but i liked the sound of them so no offence taken... as for kickhill forget it... the last time i tried that it didn't work. it's almost like he gave up on fiero's. i'll figure something out... i might just bring it to the local machine shop and see if bob will weld it for dirt cheap. thanks guys. as for the club name, if i think of something i'll post it here.

Sorry, I am never much for using the phone because there is usually someone around and I don't like other people listening to my conversations and where I am you hear them whether you want to or not. I also tend to keep strange hours and don't want to call at a "wrong time", so let me know what time frames are ok for you.
Tia huh, yah that might do it.

Hey Bob. thank you for the offer but the guy right down the street is going to weld it up for cheaper then the shipping costs to send the part to you and back.
