I got the text below in my email this morning...

quote
Email recevied from Focus:
Project Hurricane is still under way and almost complete! Paint is coming on the 1st of June and the new exhaust is soon there after. The interior is in it's final details with just a little tweeking needed here and there. I'm very excited to see this car finished and up for raffle! For those that have lost faith, all I can say is that I pity you. It is because of that lost faith of the Fiero owners on another Forum site that the project has taken soooooooooo long. To those on PFF, thank you for the 3 NCIS Criminal investagations that turned up nothing, thak you for the 2 Captain's Mast where I lost a rank and 4 months worth of pay, and thank you for the continous stress and words of discouragement while I went through 3 operations, and much medication. Oh, and thanks to the guy you sent from the forums that helped me install the front shocks, and cracked the donated front lip! I had no internet to use to post up due to your distrust, but now I do. I will no longer be postin!
g on PFF. If you would like any updates, stay tuned to www.focusrush.com/fiero .
Thanks to those of you that have stuck by me. This does not apply to you.

Gee sorry to hear of the bad luck but when vendors are breathing down our necks wondering what is going on when we gave our word that this project was being completed - I would hope you can understand. Glad to hear you are feeling better and honestly I think you owe it to those on PFF to keep us posted. Many on here donated parts and money and the least you could do is update them especially since Internet use is no longer a problem!

Evidently the Captian had serious issues with your actions to drop you a rank and dock your pay.

Possibly if you would have used the internet on the ship or at the library you could have avoided the charges being brought against you. Food for thought next time.

Exactly! His email tries to assess blame on others for his misfortune, but a good look in any mirror would show where the fault really resides. I've said it before, and will say it again, communication buys time. Even if the internet access is gone, how about sending snail mail to the vendors to update them on the status of their donations. There are places where you can get to a computer to send a quick note to let folks know you still exist.

I will step out on a limb and state the primary reason we are hearing anything at this point is because the Naval Criminal Investigative Services (NCIS) investigations are probably not done. NCIS investigations are pretty thourough... I'd bet a dollar to a donut that they are following the progress of the project to see if he makes good on his promises.

Focus, I am glad to hear you are better, and sincerly hope that your health is on the upswing.

That is total BS. I have been in for 23 years now and they dont send you to CO mast for an investigation. As for the going 2 times in for months, he would be kicked out (which it sounds like he needs to be).
Now IF the investigations came up with something then he would not be at CO's mast, he would be going to court martal. I can not stand little ****'s like that who think everyone is stupid. Please someone give me his name so I can locate his command and talk to his command master chief.

I have to agree, this sounds like total crap to me.
Oh boo hooo The Forum (whom I am supposed to be doing this for) is mad at me, so I am not going to post about the project there anymore.

Bull, total bull.

I had a look at his site. Kinda like a trip to the Pravda site. (Looks like some of the truth is severely shaded!)

I didn't donate and wouldn't now, I sent money to the Salvation Army relief effort instead.

I'm not sure that I think he's a crook, there isn't enough evidence to suggest that. But it looks like he bit off a lot more than he could swallow, so to speak. If it was me, I would have found someone to to take the project over and I would have bailed long ago. And helped them do the work, I guess.

I guess if anyone asked me, I would point out that it's been almost 9 months since the hurricane. And even that might have been okay except that after a flurry of postings when stuff was being pledged or donated, he went in to lay low mode. Even if he isn't a crook, he looked like one.

As I said in another thread, I think this is appalling!

If this were happening in this area, I'd donate time to get this thing done. This could be quite a bit of fun and a chance for more experienced Fiero fans to teach newbies.

Since it's a bit of a hike to the eastern seaboard; instead, I'd donate some money to a fund to get the thing away from him--I'm thinking a $20 bill would help on gas costs. (I'm unemployed, so I have lots of time and little money--this would be a bit painful for me, sacrifice.) Maybe someone who is universally trusted here could hold the money? Rodney, Archie, and some others would be acceptable to me (or someone who gets consistantly good comments on the good/bad sellers thread.) And as Paypal always grabs their share, I would suggest sending checks.

And in the future, let's not build cars to raffle off. Let's just send money to help the Forum members who are hurt by the storm, earthquake, etc. Or send it to NGO relief agencies with good reps. (Salvation Army, Red Cross, Save the Children, Catholic Relief, and others.)

Wow, it's been a long time since I last opened this thread. I just finished a quick review of everything so far, but I skimmed over it very fast.

Too much has been invested into this project to throw our hands up and forget about it. I say either Focus gives frequent reports on his progress, or someone else should take it all and finish it.

As for the future, I wouldn't say never build a project car again. But the right person (or group) should do it. Someone proven. Someone with the means to do the job, stay on it, and stay in communication about it.

I applaud the orginal intentions and the first steps that were taken in the right direction. But it seems to all be going wrong now, and this community is not happy about it. A change is in order, not just more waiting.

I just went to the hocus pocus focusrush website. So, ummm.... installing trunk carpet, aux gauges, and a picture of shocks laying on the ground is progress? Or did I miss something?

I have to admit, he's moving further on this project than I with some of mine LOL. However I didn't ask for donations and pledge completion to all of PFF either.

BTW, I'm one of the vendors that donated to this sham. It sucks to be taken advantage of, but I won't let it hinder me from donating to other good causes again. Thanks!

Do you know if anyone has talked to his command yet? I like you know the military. This guy is really getting on my bad side. It sucks when you get screwed over, but to have one of our own do it. That crap is not going to happen. If he lost rank under UCMJ then he was doing something shady. I have been a 1SGT for the last six years and have seen hundreds of soldiers given UCMJ. This guy is a liar. He can not get to the internet, BULL **** . Every military base has it for free. He is in the band, did I read that right, the band, the F%$^ing band. This guy does not have time to do what he said, lives with his mom. Bullshit, Bullshit, Bullshit. Please someone give me his name or what ever info he gave for you to send him Items. I will go the NCO route first but my Boss will call his Base Commander. Why start at the bottom, this guy is giving the services a bad rep. Most of us work hard and shed tears and blood for this country. I have spent 27 months in Iraq the last three years and this band F&^K is not going to give anyone a bad taste of the military anymore.

Gandyman, I talked to his Command already. I got an email from Focus last night stating that he changed Commands since the last time I made contact with them. I got that email in response to t-bird's request for his name and location. If he is still on active duty, it is hard to hide.

Okay, first of all let me make it clear that I have zero to do with Focus, however for reasons unknown to me he thinks I am a good person to send emails to. He alleges that his PFF account has been deleted so contrary to his other reason for not posting updates here, he can not sign on to PFF even if he wanted to...

Anyway, here is the latest email that I got from Focus:

He sent me an email yesterday stating he couldn't use a couple parts I had given him when I gave him the car and wanted to know my new address to send them back. Cool I guess. Said the car is going in for paint.

Hope it is really going to be completed this time....

Follow F-I-E-R-O' s example FocusRush.Address the problem, explain what has been happening, and earn some respect back.Don't get in a huff because people started to doubt you, for good reason. You will get far more respect for facing up to your problems and letting the Forum know what has gone wrong, instead of petulantly saying you won't post here again. Is it some sort of ploy to get more hits on your Forum than it currently warrants?

Just came acroos this thread and am amazed at the the way this all went down. I don't know any of you but I would like to see V8Archie take this project over and make this whole thing right again.
