Since he won something in the raffle, perhaps he'll surface. Tis the season to be busy, and I'd like the chance to see the car as (like all Fiero owners) I have a couple odds and ends I may be able to contribute.

So, am I the only one worried about what has happened to FocusRush, or the Hurricane Project?

Come on Folks!! It is not like PFF to ignore the plight of a Member who is having problems! I don't think this is right!! Either he has a serious problem, or the donors do..what can be done to update this situation? Or do I just let it go, and HOPE it will turn out OK in the end.Comments please!!!

I'm pretty disappointed in the time it's taken too. I'm careful about giving too much of a hard time though, especially this time of year, since I know that I wouldn't be able to do much better... But then again, that's why the car was given to him, he had the time to do it supposedly.

I accept that, of course. But it takes no time to post a short note to explain, no matter where you are, or how much hurry you are in.I will let it go now, and hope something good comes out of it all. I hope FocusRush doesn't have any problems, and that he will come through. At least, let us hope he is well.

Hooray!! RandomTask has spoken to FocusRush, and is going to meet up with him!! He is going to give a hand to help things along!!
Kudos to RandomTask!!
Still think it might be a good idea to take some of the raffle draw money, so that any hold-ups can be avoided, and it will be an investment which will recoup a lot more than it will cost. How about buying one of F-I-E-R-O's emblems to put on it..put the car on eBay..
"Unique Fiero!! Own a one-off!! This car was rescued, and rebuilt, with generous help from Forum Members, using parts and funds raised by Pennock's Fiero Forum, to help out Fiero Owners who lost everything in Hurricane Katrina!!.The car has been fitted out with accessories donated by Fiero Vendors, and features a special emblem designed and created by F-I-E-R-O, a Member of Pennock's Forum!! All proceeds will go to help the Fiero victims who lost everything in the storm.
BID NOW!! OWN A UNIQUE PIECE OF HISTORY!!!"
I guess it would raise a lot of money?!!
Just an idea from

SWEET! I got a call last night from a local Fiero owner (I'm not sure if he posts here) That will be coming over this week end to help out with the car. Hopefully we can wrap up all of the little things left to do. And I do want to get the new springs and shocks in as well. As for the little things, they are:

- replace carpeting on passengerside door (finally got a heat gun and already did the drivers side)
- finish wireing up the passengerside keyless-entry
- replace all broken plastic tabs that hold the inner door skins on
- put inter door skins on
- install all new interior fuse-box fuses (I replaced the broken fuse box)

- then sand sand sand sand. Then take a bathroom break, then sand sand sand sand. I'm hoping that I can have it read for paint by the new year. Speaking of paint, the gentelman that called to offer help works at a local paint shop and has offer to donate his time to spray the car. When he said that, I had a million questions, but he said we could discuss it when he comes over this weekend. Hopefully thigs can really start moving again at a decent pace with someone else around to help out.

About posting photos, I'm sorry I didn't. I'll take 100% blame. I just forgot. I took the photos, but I haven't uploaded the photos to my computer yet. I think I have Halloween photos still on there. LOL.

Well, off to work I go. If the batteries for my camera are all charged when I get back from work, I'll post them up.

Oh, to address Mr. Mike. The is to be vendor donated parts, but there are alot of little things that I need from other members or other cars. My orignal idea was to split that money between PFF members that were affected by the Hurricanes. There was some talk as to raffeling it of then donating the money to a larger organization like the American Red Cross. Nothing was decided upon yet. I figure when the car is all said and ready, we can all discuss the best method that would help out the people in need the most.

Focus Rush ~

Apparently the Fastback windows for the Raffle were sent to you by Fiero Warehouse by accident. Could you please contact me so I can give you shipping information so they can be sent to the correct person? I'm pretty sure they haven't been put on the car as the windows were for a Fastback and this car is a notchback. Please contact me ASAP so the winner can get his prize!

Thanks!

The car was taken back to his house to be finished....why, when all the facilities available at the shop it was at, would make it quicker and easier to do the work?
- The shop at which the work was being done at is no longer in business. I've gotten more work done to the car since it moved to my house since I don't have to drive across town to work on it.

There are quite a lot of sponsors on the website.. I wonder how much they paid for the priviledge?
- The sponsors on the site are those that have donated parts to the project.

Has anybody Paypalled cash as a contribution to the rebuild?
- Nope. All money for small parts has come from my own pocket. About $800 dollers so far.

How much is the total of donations in materials and parts so far?
- Total in donated parts from vendors is about $2K

If he was so concerned about rip-offs, why doesn't he respond , or post updates very frequently, to avoid anybody begiining to doubt him?
My time and internet acess is now limited. I'm in the middle of moving and my internet isn't set up at my new place yet.

Has he returned the plates yet, to the original owner?
Yes

Wish he would come and reply to one of the two threads. I stand to lose nothing, so why am I pursuing this line of questions?
Just because I don't want to see anybody at all, lose their contributions to the project. He is very new to the Forum..July 2005..

- Actually, I'm not new to the forum. I had another screen name and when I went to boot camp a few years ago, I had forgotten the name and password. I didn't re-register till recently because I don't have my Fiero in Virginia. It sits in a garage back in San Diego.

Random Task, do you know anything? I saw in one of the threads you were going across to help..did you meet up in the end?
- I have just recently recived a PM and telephone call from Random Task. He will be coming over to help me out when I get back to Virginia from Christmas leave in San Diego..... Also while I'm here in San Diego, I'll be making a few trips to the local junkyards where the Fiero's are plentyful to get parts that I can't seem to get in Virginia. The 2 junkyards in Virginia I go to get in Fiero's but on a very rare basis.

To everyone.

I don't want anyone to think that there donations and there trust has been for nothing. I do have every intention of doing what I originally inteded. Nothing has changed.

So here is a time-table that I will post on my website as soon as I get back internet access.

- December 21st -January 2nd (Christmas Leave in San Diego). Goto junk yards and get the following parts..
- Door arm rests in dark grey
- misc. screws
- if I can find it, A set of aux. gauges
- a grey steering wheel
- a shifter surround and bezel for a 5 speed
- sun roof glass and hardware
- Another GT rear bumper.
- A sponsor did donate a GT rear bumper, but the are many small cracks that cannot be sanded out and the trim on it is the notched trim where the rest of the car has rounded trim.
- 120mph speedometer/gauge cluster
- anything else that I see that will come in handy or be cool on the car.

January 16th - there is an e-bay seller that I am currently speaking with about getting a set of rims/tires donated for the car. They are Scion Tc rims in 17X7 with the 5X100 lug pattern. I have a friend in Virginia BEach with a Scion Tc, and I'm going try his on before I give the the go ahead.

January 21st- Install new springs/shocks and struts.

Beyond that, IRandom Task is looking into paint, and after that, the car is pretty much done.

While at home here in San Diego, I'll have much better acess to PFF and after I goto the j/y's, I'll post up my findings.

Again, there is no need for doubt, no need for concern, no need for negative thoughts. I WILL FINISH THE CAr.

If your contribution is in excess of $800, I don't think that is fair..you are doing the work too.Can you produce any receipts for your purchases? If you can, perhaps some money from the Raffle could be held back, and then you can be remunerated when the car is finished. That is one heck of a lot of money for one person to find, in my opinion.Any thoughts, anybody?

I do have all of the recipts for all of the parts I've bought. I have a file with all paperwork on the car. No need to get money back to me. I enjoy working on the car and I figure what ever I put into it is my donation to the project.

That would be great if you do. Let me know today if you can. Today I have plans to go junkyard hunting. (Around 1pm PST.) I'll check the board right before I go. I if you do have those, that'll save me a couple bucks in parts and some space in my luggage for the trip home.

JACKPOT AT THE JUNKYARD! The first yard I went to and the First Fiero I saw had everything and more than I needed. It was an 88 GT fully loaded. It had looked like some one had started to pick some parts, but then gave up. I got the following

- 2 armrest in Dark Grey
- GT AUX gaugeswith bezel (silver from another Fiero in the yard)
- Stereo/AC Surround to accomodate the new GT Gauges
- 5 speed Shifter Surround
- The Grey leather/plastic shifter surround surround.
- An entire sener console skeleton with no cracks, or breaks!
- A perfect condition HVAC

And the biggest deal of the day!

- An Entire Premium Stereo System with Factory Subwoofer., all in Perfect condition!
- I tested it in my '87 GT here in San Diego and it works and sounds GRREAT! I'm gonna have a hard time letting this one go, but I will. I don't really drive my Fiero that much to need that Stereo.

I also got a second set of GT AUX. Gauges and the lower surround in the dark grey if anyone would like to add that to there Fiero. Make me an offer. I'd like to off-set a little bit of the $141 I spent at the junk yard today.

I'm gonna go back after the first (Payday) and pick up the following: (if there still there)

- The Black 88 15" rims
- The GT rear bumper with the round moulding
- The dashboard (it was in PERFECT condition)
- All of the side markers
- The other Fiero's premium sound system with sub (For my 87 GT)

Well, if anyone wants the extra set of AUX gauges, LMK!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Hey Rush ~

You should write down the VIN for the Database. What color was it? Sad to think of a GT like that in a yard but good that it helped you out!

It was the Dark Red.

There is something I noticed about the cars at the junkyards here in San Diego...... They're all red. Even the black SE I saw there was painted black, but was originally red. hmmmm........ I figure the people with red cars drive them harder and don't take care of them as well so the end up in the boneyard.

On Another note.........

Kris,
Do you still have an extra sun roof glass?? I remember something about you having an extra sunroof glass. I probably should have taken it when I had the chance.

Here is the new center console which includes the follwing new (used) parts.

- Aux. Gauges
- Aux. Gauge bezel
- stereo/ac leather lurround to accomade aux. gauges
- stereo/AC bezel
- shift bezel (donated from my 87 GT)
- ashtray doors
- Red powdercoated ash trays (from a powdercoat run I did a few years back)
- shifter bezel surround.
- shifter boot

Well, that will pretty much cover the center console minus the stereo headunit. I'm going to install the factory sub into project hurricane aloing with the factory amp, but have it run by a new aftermarket headunit.

Here is a photo of the new arm rest (after being cleaned in Oxi-Clean)

And here are some photos of the Sub Parts I got.

I cant wait to get back and put these in the car. It will really compete the interior.

Okay, so tomarrow morning (6am PST) I'll be flying back to Virginia Beach From San Diego. I'm having my parent ship me the car parts so they will be there in about 10 days. I'm also considering (If I have the budget for it) just paying the extra on the flight and bringing the box with me on the plane. It's an additional $80 and I'm not sure if I can spare that change just to get it there a little quicker. Well, when I get back, I'll be finishing up moving houses and my internet guy won't be there for a few days to re-connect me. My internet access will be very limited until the house is fully up and running. As soon as the parts get there though, they will be going in immideatly! I can't wait to see the completed interior!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!

The stuff was shipped out yesterday from San Diego via Fed Ex/ and help from my sister.
I'm expecting the stuff this week, and I should be able to pop it all in!

Sorry for the delay on the response. I only have one extra sunroof glass and I'm keeping that as a spare for my '88 if ever needed. The others I had have been sold or donated. They show up in the yards a lot here though so I will keep my eyes peeled. They ALWAYS need new tabs and washers though so get the Fiero store or someone to get you those.

Update:

I'm on limited time on the computer right now. So this will be brief.
I finally finished moving from my old house to my new one. The new place isn't that far from my old place, but I had the car towed here. There are no tags on it yet since it won't currently pass Virginia State Inspection. One of te Fiero guys here in Virginia from FOCOSEVA has the headlight motors and is re-building them so the car right now does not have working headlights, (a must to pass inspection). Hopefully he'll finish them soon. I still haven't recived the pacakage from CA yet, but I will be installing the stuff I was able to fit into my luggage.

Here is the best part!

My new neighbors own TWO FIEROS! Botht the husband and wife own one. I haven't had a chance to introduce myself yet to them, but I'm sure they've noticed Project Hurricane sitting in the back yard on the porch. :-) Both of there cars are "in progress" cars and so many of the body panels are mixed-match that I can't tell the years or model. Hopefully I'll get to meet them soon.

My full internet access (high speed) should be up and running this week. I'm currently running off ofd one of those free AOL CD's from best buy. LOL

Well, I'll post again when I get some photos of the arm rests and the aux gauges when I install them which should be soon. The weather here has been abnormally warm, so I want to do it while the weather hold out.

Until next time!
