You're right, Scott! You are on the list. I was just doing too many things and somehow missed your name...
Can't believe you caught me on two mistakes in the same post! You were correct in that I mis-quoted the gas prices... The $3.79 is for Premium. Regular is only $3.59...

I made the point to set your odometer to zero at the stop sign as you turn onto Hwy 1 leaving the hotel...
The first stop is at the 'big rock' turnout..... 24.2 miles
The second stop, which is the 'tricky' picnic area..... 38.9 miles I call it tricky because the road turns back almost 180 degrees and people will miss it easily if not watching for it.
Right turn onto Carmel Valley Road.... 93.4 miles
Right turn into Baja Cantina parking lot.... 96.9 miles
1st stop on return trip - Gorda. Take individual pics here.... 165 miles
Last stop. Seal watching!... 187.1 miles
Turn right into access road for hotel.... 195 miles
These measurements are all from the digital odometer on our Chrysler. I haven't checked them against last years numbers but they are pretty close from what I remember.

Some named David Dean has also made his reservation. This is not a name I am familiar with. Is this someone I should know under their forum name?
David Dean just became a member of Fieros West last month. He attended the BBQ that we had middle of last month, and brought his new Fiero. He's new to the community, and is a great guy! For those of us that attended the BBQ got to see his Fiero he recently picked up from a kid in Boise, Idaho. It has 84,900 original miles on it, and everything is original on this car, except for the tires & rims. In the pic below, he's the gentleman with the dark shirt on, and this is his ride! Unfortunately to be somewhat reasonable for everyone to view on PFF, I had to resize them way smaller, and take a bunch of clarity out of the pics (30k vs. 2.10mb).
So when he attends the Coast Run, I don't think he'll have a problem congregating with anyone, nor should anyone have a problem with him!

PS: Sorry guys, I have never used PiP before. I usually put them on the website, so if they don't come out right, I'll change them!

Hey Songman how about stopping at the River Inn to cool off our tired feet and stretch a bit. It's pretty nice Inn and they have a nice brook in the back of the restaurant. Just a thought.

I'm good with that if people are interested in it. It's really pretty there and a bit of different scenery from what we see on the coast. We could make that a first stop after lunch. It's about 30 miles after lunch. That would be about halfway to Gorda which I was going to pake our first stop.
This year I am going to hand out surveys after the Run so people can let me know their opinions. The first year I just threw something together because I loved the road. For this year I tried to listen to what people said about last year but it was all just from what I heard people say.

Okay.. Shows you all how much of a goof I am... The run is Friday, Saturday and leaving Sunday, right!? Just like West Fest!? I may not be able to be there until Saturday nite, unless I can pull some massive strings at work, but with our new store openning November 5th, it's going to be extremely hard! Which means... The marg machine won't be there until Saturday nite either folks, sorry!

No offense but I don't really want the margerita machine to be there anyway. This is a driving event and I think mixing late night drinking with fast driving on the cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean is a dangerous combination anyway. Obviously I can't and wouldn't stop people from drinking, but the excess that comes with the margerita machine is too dangerous. If you are coming Saturday night and want to bring it, I think that is fine.

DISCLAIMER If a margarita machine appears at the hotel during the Coast Run, it is not affiliated in any way with the Coast Run. There are enough dangers involved with any sort of driving event. The Coast Run is a completely voluntary event and any person going on the Run does so with the understanding that any mishaps that may occur are their own responsibility and not the responsibility of the organizer of the event (Me!) or any of the vendors or suppliers who donate to the success of the event.

Man i cant beleive we have to do stuff like this. Disclaimers amongst freinds scary.
Dale is just being smart. You have a guy who is creating registration pages, etc. for an event (which could make someone infer that he has some connection to the organizer) and is making a big deal about how he is going to be offering free hard alcohol. There's really no need for all that. I'm 37 years old, I'm way past booze being the draw for me. Sure, I may have an adult beverage on the beach, but I got a margarita machine in my kitchen. It's called a "blender".

Hmmm. last I knew, we were having the machine for the Coast Run! I guess i missed that meeting, like always! Not a big deal, then in that case, I'll just ride the bike up there with me and the woman! That will actually be a nice ride up 101 all the way there! My daze off are S & M, so that's why I was letting everyone know... Didn't mean to "rile things up", but like I said, I knew there were a whole bunch of people at West Fest that were talking about the Marg machine being there for the Coast Run! That's kewl.. That just means more marg's for next years West Fest!

So now it is my fault if no one has fun, huh? haha... Oh well...
All I'm saying is that I don't care what ya'll do in the parking lot, on the beach, or anywhere else... But it is not part of the Coast Run. As far as I know there were no meetings on the Coast Run. As I've said before, what I try to do with the Coast Run is to make it what I would want a run to be if I went to a run. So basically I fashion it after the Run For The Hills that I always went to when I was on the other end of the country.
I've been behind one Fiero as it slid sideways and pointed the nose towards that cliff above the ocean. And there was no alcohol involved then! I'd hate to think what could happen... It would be the end of the Coast Run for sure... My disclaimer is just saying that no one is going to be able to sue me, the hotel, or the vendors if they screw up...
Also bear in mind that at WestFest, we had the majority of the hotel. That is not going to be the case this time. At WestFest, people apparently came from other hotels to complain about the noise. This time the hotel will be full of non-Fiero people. This hotel has been very good to us. I'd hate to lose that. We can't touch the price they give us anywhere else up and down the coast.
Yes, I sound like an old stick in the mud I'm sure... Sorry about that. It is not my intention. I just don't want to see this thing go the wrong way..I put a lot into it every year and I hope to keep on doing it.

It's really too bad we don't have enough people to take over the whole hotel again.Thet worked out well.
"I've been behind one Fiero as it slid sideways and pointed the nose towards that cliff above the ocean. And there was no alcohol involved then!" Yeah that wasn't booze that was something else.
"people apparently came from other hotels to complain about the noise." True but it was only one person and she wasn't very big. That probably won't happen this time.It was those rowdy people from Arizona anyway.Us guys from California were very well behaved.

If we would have found the BBQ sauce, I think she would have been a very good appetizer for us at what was it.... 1:00am when she came over. I just like how she bounced from hotel to hotel to down the street in one sentence!

Come on and bring the whole family! It's not a problem. The only added cost will be for what you eat. The hotel is $59 regardless. You don't even have to bring your Fiero this time. We had a guy in his S-10 pickup on the run last year because his Fiero was in the middle of an engine swap... It's still a pretty drive and a good time to hang out with other Fiero owners and check out the cars.. Not to mention the raffle prizes you could end up taking home!
And if you need pic or sig help, e-mail me a pic or two of your car and I'll see if I can help out.

I think I'm registered.. am I on the list? I'm planning on meeting up with everyone at the north end of the drive for lunch. I won't be spending the night in San Simeon but I plan on driving down and staying for the dinner/raffle.

Exactly what kind of driving are we planning on doing??? Is this going to be a leisurely drive up north to Carmel??? Or drive like bat out of hell and get there as fast as we can???
Regarding the maggie machine.....I think we are all adults and can figure out our responsibilities. But, that's good Dale posted that disclaimer. I would. Always do in my plans anyway. "Is everyone ready for the run"?

A caravan sounds like a good idea. That way we all have someone else to blame if we show up late! Any ideas on where we can meet up? I'd like to offer my house but I'd have to check with my folks first. Hwy 101 and Hwy 1 are easy to get to from here.

Want to meet at my house? I'm right off of 101 at Boranda Rd in Salinas. Super easy to find. Let me know!

We'll probably have two groups - fast and slow. The fast group will run ahead, and stop periodically to get everyone together again.

Yeah, what fierobear said... We said last year that people who wanted to drive fast should line up in the front and slower people line up in the back. It didn't really happen that way, but it wasn't a big deal because we didn't go all that fast anyway. Evill88 and I were in the front in our matching T-tops and we hit 100 a couple of times on some straights but not often. I'm going to suggest this time that if someone sees that the person behind them wants to go faster than they are going that they slide over and let them pass. That way everyone can go at their own pace. For the most part we still keep the group together though.

Maddog and I signed up for the evening tour at Hurst Castle on the 13 th sat at 6:10. If I don’t do this I will be in big trouble with Maddog . We did not go to Hurst Castle when we were at the car show. So if any one would like to go at this time it would be fun to have a group. The tour is two hrs long so it should not interfere with Saturday’s night activities.
