It'll be here before you know it! Just two months away and if you are like me you are still trying to get your car put together!
I've been making plans and trying to work out details to make this year's Coast Run even better than the very successful one we had last year! If WestFest can be an indicator, there is no doubt it will be better this year.
Here are the main details...
WHAT: 2nd Annual California Coast Run WHEN: November 12-14 WHERE: San Simeon, CA
I've worked out the same rate at the hotel as we had at WestFest and at last year's Coast Run. I have 20 rooms reserved at the San Simeon Courtesy Inn at the rate of $59 per night. We had more than 20 people from WestFest saying they were coming back so don't wait till the last minute and miss out! I've already got my usual room reserved! Call 1-800-555-5773 right now and ask for Manesh! Ask for the Dale Houston group rate to make sure you get $59 per night!
I'll post more details later, but for now, check out the site! Donating vendor links will be added next week... Any vendors that would like to donate items to the raffleand get your link on the page, please contact me. Raffle proceeds will be split between St Judes Children's Research Hospital and Pennock's Fiero Forum.
Thanks Curly, for letting me use your car in the logo for the Coast Run. I am hoping that showing your car with all of the mods on it will let the non-Fiero vendors that I am trying to get involved that the Fiero is more than just a cancelled little fireball car that Pontiac used to make...

Very cool. Can't wait for it to get here now. Lets all pray to the Fiero Gods for no slow people who refuse to pull over for 3 seconds so we can go by.
Also cool, I was looking for a good thread to make my 3000th post in and here it is!

Roy, I'm sure you can.. I'd hate to think of you missing that football game! haha
Just call Manesh and tell him. I'm sure he'll go for it.
Curly... I'll see what I can do about T-shirts...
Would anyone else be interested in a shirt with that design on it? Since this is no club or anything doing this, all of the money to put it on comes out of my pocket. I don't want to have a bunch of shirts printed that I can't get my money back on.

I'm leaving town this evening heading to Georgia for a week. If anyone has any question or comments, don't think I am ignoring you. I will most likely not be online very much while I am gone...
But ya'll go ahead and talk this thing up and get your reservations!

I love the idea of a t-shirt, but bear in mind that we printed 100 for the Westfest, and there were 20 left after the show. If you print less, the unit price goes up.

You have a broken link, your website ain't working, it isn't responding, I click and get a 404, it isn't done correctly, it took forever to give me a response on the bad page, that's the page I really needed and it wasn't working, yada yada yada...
I talked to Manesh at Courtesy Inn and he was cool with me having the room friday night, and you having it saturday. I'll have the maid clean it up for you.

I've been doing some inquiries on lunch locations, any strong preferences regarding type of food, price range, etc.? Also, it will help a lot if we have some idea of # of participants. Anyone have a count yet?

I just talked to the Black Bear Diner in Carmel, and they don't have a banquet room or anything. They did say they are opening a new location in Monterey, but that is projected to be finished in March or April.

Thanks for the help, Stimpy and fierobear... You guys know I would love to get into Bubba Gump's but they are pretty outrageous for groups and parking might be a problem...
The Baja works for me as well if that is the best deal. Parking was ample. The food was good. Prices were fair. I'm figuring about $10-15 would be a good average price for a complete meal. Lots of people will be coming in with tight budgets and we want them to be able to save some money for all the great raffle prizes too!
I have no idea for count, Stimpy. You know folks aren't much for signing up early for anything. I'm planning for 50 goodie bags for participants. It would be great if we had that many cars but it is not likely. I don't know anyone of the 40+ people at WestFest who said they were not coming back for the Coast Run so we can always hope.

Goober created an e-mail list earlier and put it on the WCF site but I don't know how many are on it. Maybe I should do a little quickie form on my site so we can get an idea... His e-mail list can still be useful as well.

For anyone who wants to help promote the Run in their area, or for people who just want a way to make contact with other Fiero owners in their area.... I've created a flyer than can be put up on bulletin boards or left on windshields that has the info for the Coast Run. I have put it on the Coast Run site in two formats. There is a 1.6meg PDF file and a 180k jpeg file. My suggestion for anyone who wants to use these is to download the format you want and print them out. If you don't want to waste ink on the color version just change your printer settings to print colors as grey. The PDF prints a little sharper but the jpeg is fine for handouts.
I've got the form on the site for anyone who wants to let us know that they are for sure coming. This will help us make arrangements for meal reservations, goodie bags, etc. I'll post a good number after a few days to see how many people sign up...
Thanks Rick! The more people that spread the word, the more Fieros we will end up getting at this event! It was fun last year but I know this year is going to be even better!

If you didn't sign up in the last hour, you haven't signed up. This has nothing to do with the mailing list that Goober started. This is the official sign up sheet for the Run. While it is true that this is a 'show up and go' event and you don't really have to sign up, it will help in the planning if everyone does sign up.
