Kudus to you!! It's a little early in the game, but considering restoration takes time, when their more pressing needs are taken care of, this gift from the heart will be ready. Keep us posted on what you need.

I have two Fiero coupes, mostly complete, to donate to the cause. I will go through the Alamo Area Fiero Owners club to see if we can get them to be running replacements. They may be better suited to be parted out to repair the lost ones which mean so much personally. I do not know how to best give them away. Listen ! There are just two many threads for me to keep up with all the different help efforts. PM me if I can honor my pledge.

We have several ideas to help PFF hurricane victims:
FGM- collecting money and sending directly to those in need. ( in progress)
Aus- Raffle scoops and Mr. Mikes 5$ a ticket. Money goes to FGM and is retro active for all members that donated already. ( FGM should start sending out tickets to previous donators.)??
Fiero focus- project Hurricane started as fiero for victim ,now might be part of AUS raffle?? IMHO keep original idea pick name out of hat( so to speak) with only names of the pff'ers that lost cars. ( please decide soon)
Many PFFers have offered car parts - awsome idea. someone needs to inventory donations of this type for use when needed by victims. May be awhile down the road but still great to think ahead.
As always RED CROSS is a great idea, although not fiero forum specific.
I will be donating soon but wanted to see if I uderstood the multiple threads correctly.

I like that idea better..... But I would like to coordinate all of the efforts into one event/thread.....

The multiple threads are confusing. It is hard to keep up. I think many have agreed to use this thread to help keep things simple and easier to organize. Money is being collected, work crews are being put together, ideas are being spawned. Can we run your excellent idea there also FocusRush ? I am gonna ask Aus to do the same thing with his excelent idea. Think about it. All the Fiero rallies run off of a central thread.

Yes Focus please keep this thread in place for people to actually donate. When you decide what/who is going to get the car please let me know so I can update the other thread.

Here is the graphic I had my marketing guy come up with, it's super low-res for posting here. I have High-res for stickers (vector or jpg) or artwork. What do you guys think?

How do we decide who gets this car? I'm sure there's more than one gulf coast fiero owner on PFF that lost everything.
Is this fiero to be given only to a PFF member, or ANY fiero owner?
There are 5 PFF members who lost their cars (and most likely everything else.) That we know of and we have heard from at least 2 of them recently. As for deciding who gets the car, I would say the best way would be to give out 5 (or however many there are) "raffle" tickets. and then someone picks one and that's who gets the car. Voting who gets the car seems like it would end up as a popularity contest. Each of the 5 have more than likely had more than just their Fiero lost as well as struggled to get somewhere safe. However it is decided, I think it should be as fair as possible between them.
I can donate a set of painted door tabs (painted to match the car.) and I also have a near mint SE 4-spoke leather wrapped steering wheel with the horn buttons. Sorry I don't have a lot of spare parts.
Edit: I just did a search of the members list and it shows 12 members in New Orleans and 3 in Gulfport, ms and 1 in Biloxi. Of course this is going by those that listed specific cities in their profile. If they listed just the state or didn't list their location at all, I'm not sure how we would be able to track them unless local club members knew them.

Why not make the car the major raffle prize. Can up the price of the ticekts then and make twice as much cash. Cash is what people need more than a car. and it can be distributed. Just a suggestion.
i see that your doing a fastback conversion. if you're considering to use the replacement panels that use 80-82 corvette taillights hit me up. i have an set of the all red ones.

I have an Alpine CVA-1000 head unit sitting around. This is one of the flip up display models. I'm pretty sure it is still in working order (been sitting in the garage for years). I'd be happy to ship it out for the project if wanted/needed.

I am trying to get the closest local Fiero clubs to sponser a car each. We would haul it out and if it can be repaired/refreshed, if we can do so. Each club can do tech sessions at their local meetings, clubs can interact with each other on the things which best solve the common problems from flooding. Of course, we have no idea what kind of damage may have been done to them. I have lost everything before. You would not believe the efforts I put into stuff that was ruined to keep what I could of my life. I am sure the members would like to have their original cars back. This may not be possible, as pointed out to me by maryjane, these cars may not be allowed out of the area as the threat of disease spreading from the area may be real. If that is the case, I have two almost complete coupes (4cyl auto) which can also be restored. I would ask that clubs sponser these also as I will not be able to do it alone. I hope to be able to head over to the area in some of my off time for work details. Anyone who might be able to help, please PM me.

I should have everything.. I just have to locate it all. I'll scour around and let you know.
Edit cause I just remembered something - The unit is just the disply and radio portion. It requires a certain series of Alpine CD changer, which I don't have. So, may want to look into it first and see if it is worth messing with. It was a real sweet unit in its day...

I like it alot. Maybe add the name Katrina to it ? Even a special edition..."I survived Katrina " for those that did. Give a set to all who donate ? Sell them as fund raisers ?

I'll donate decals. I've been trying to figure out what to do with that...you tell me what you want. Decals for supporters? Oh..the above is a little time consuming with all the colors unless you want a bumper sticker.

with that logo above, just wait another day or 2 before it's used for any decals or anything. I have another design being worked on that I have a feeling will be even better.
I'm going to inventory the car parts that I have sitting in my garage today as well as making the master list of parts that I am going to need for the Project Hurricane Fiero.
Can I make a suggestion? The difficulty of deciding who gets the car is impossible to overcome. My suggestion is to put it on eBay, with the description of WHY it was prepared, and being sold. With just this car having one-off decals, and unique status for the rebuild, and a plaque fixed somewhere permanently, dedicating the car to the memory of those lost, and the future of survivors, I feel this car would raise MANY thousands of dollars for the PFF victims to share equally.Ebay is famous for people wanting to buy "out-of-the ordinary" items, and I am sure that, for example, if every hit on the auction item would lead to a donation from eBay to the sale, we could really make something of this.Just my 0.02 cents. Please think about it, before it is summararily discarded. I am off the coast of Mississippi, on the USS Harry S Truman. We deployed in support of "Joint Task Force Katrina". I know of at least 5 PFF members who live in Va Beach who may love to help. I would if I was home, and will if I get back any time soon (not likely). I will contact them about this thread and see if they can lend a hand. Good luck and cant wait for pics.
