Quickest I could eek out so far was a 10.991

Need to fiddle with the settings some more. Tough to launch with the controller..

I do like the idea of some lap time challenges, don't know about the 'ring though. Haven't made a clean lap around there yet.

I got a quick question for you guys. I bought a car from the used car shop the other day, it was an FTO. I forget what model. Anyhow it has over 300,000 miles on it and when I accelerate with it, it shakes to pieces. Any of you had this problem?

Go to the Tune Shop(for the FTO it would be under Mitsubishi) and go to the "Other" menu. At the end you will see something called "Body Repair" or strengthens or w/e, it repairs the body to its stock condition. It's $50,000.

Hmmm....if I had that amount of cash I'd just get a better car.

I also have another question. How do you guys take in motion pictures, or pictures from or during races? I know how you can go different places to take photos but where can I find the other type?

Well to not let the "twisting of the chassis" to occur so fast, you can buy a roll cage.

And to take pictures other then the staged ones, you save a replay of a race. Then go to Replay theater and I think if you press START it lets you go into camera mode, either way it says how to in game.

Standard will like this one. Here I am getting ready to pass the Callaway Corvette, and the SVT Mustang.

And here I am in first place. I had the hardest time beating this series with any other vehicle I currently had. It was the N/A - Professional Series.

I'm still like on the beginner events, cause I cannot get enough cash to upgrade my car. How are you all getting your cash? Just redoing races and winning cars and selling them or what?

The best way to make some fast money, is to transfer credits from GT3.

If you can't do that, if you have an American car, go to the american series, and do stars and stripes, you should win a camaro LM1 race car worth 212K.

Or if you're starting out from zero.. Just keep resetting the first race series, the car you win is worth 8k, you make 5k from the races.. Little bit of work and you can buy a 14k Skyline.. after that it doesn't take long to start making real cash.. just time an patience.

got to the point where I bought and maxed the 62 Buick Special so I'd have a car to use in NA series and pre 71 series.

Standard - thanks for the tip on the Capri Rally - it's like taking candy from a baby - outstanding!

Now I can feed my muscle car habits. Wonder how many horsepower I can get my spiffy new '70 Superbird up to? Mwhahaha!

I'll also toss in a plug for the '62 Buick Special and the HPA tuner R32 (think fancy VW Golf). They both seem to be good value for the money...

I love my '62 Buick Special. I have 970 miles on it currently, and I bought it new. It's a lot of fun, especially when there are Raced out Nsx's, 350 z's, and calloways, and I will just destroy them in my old arse '62 buick.

I ran a 10.674 in my GNX the other night. Yeah...my big boat buick is doin the same as you MR2 traitors. I thought about going to the darkside, but then I remembered how much junk I get from MR2s and their owners on a daily basis to convert over. Grar.....oh well. We should start posting what all cars we get from different races. Anyone know what to use in the All American Championship and what the prize is? -Ben

Can't remember what I used to win the all american.. think it was the GT40 race car. The prize car is a '54 Corvette convertible. Here's a full prize car list: http://www.granturismobynumbers.com/ubb/Forum46/HTML/000126.html

Some interesting race cars I won..

*drooling* I love the pictures once again lol. Since i'm currently saving up for a new Fiero, and not able to go & get a USB drive thingy(well technically I could but i'm saving the money for a Fiero) will you take some pictures of a Yellow GTO with Enekie 021 rims please Standard?? Lol, I would appreciate it till I can get a usb thingy. Also when I get the time i'll go back to the first page and edit my post to add all the cars won, they're value for anyone looking to make money, and tips(like the Capri thing). Well peace & thanks in advance Standard if you do that lol

Just ran a 9.2 in my 1120 HP Chaparral 2J - woot!

Another get rich quick scheme that has worked like a charm - use Standard's Capri Rally trick to win roughly $650K. Then buy a new Opel Astra Touring Car from the Opel dealer. Put a stage III turbo on it and change the oil. Enter the German Touring Car Championship. Use B-Spec mode set on level 5, kick back, and relax. 5 races at $15K each, and a $75K bonus for winning the championship. And as they say on TV - but wait - that's not all. You'll also get the Mercedes CLK Le Mans car, which, when sold, is worth a cool $750K. For the math impaired, that's roughly $900K for less than 15 minutes work. Repeat as necessary.

Yup, that's how I racked up about 10 million, except I used my CLK touring car I won in the mercedes one make race. Now I'm just waiting for day 694 and the black LMP cars to show up in the used car lots.

I am super interested in having GT4 competitions but not crazy about the 1/4s Im just not a dragster kinda guy. I actually won a free copy of GT4 in a time attack contest at our local GameStop. None of my friends are into this game as much as I am and so I havent found anyone better than me, but Im searching.

I would like to know what kinda regulations we would have in this competition. I was thinking has to be the same car with the same mods but tune as you wish and I think there should be a limit to how many official times you can post on one track just for competition sake. This would defineatly work out better if we started it in a new post or multiple posts so it will be easier to follow. But I do want to do this!

I would enjoy the exclusiveness of competitions here more than the competitions the GTPforum. Although this would bring up another possibility as we could bemoce a clan as is having a special signiture before our names on the GTPforum and just compete there instead of taking my Cliffs space. Would like to know what you all think?

Well, I wasn't thinking of anything too strict, mainly horsepower or power-to-weight limitations, along with tires.

Of course, that does leave a lot of things open.. how about bone stock cars?

Hehe - Just bought a 32MB USB Thumbdrive from Target (on sale for $9) - so I'll have to see about snagging some pics.

Anyway - Eric wanted to know if anyone has tried any of the mega-endurance races yet? He started the 24 hours of NurburgRing (which you have to complete 25% of the game to even access... yeah, he's addicted) about 1 hr & 45 min ago and is on lap 15, with his fastest lap being 6:48 in a Mercedes CLK DTM Touring Car. Even running super-hard race tires, he's only managing about 3 laps between stops. It's going to be a long one!

I've finished all but 3 of the enduros, with the help of my trusty co-driver . Start it before bed or work and let 'em go. They're the only races I b-spec, don't have the patience to sit through all that. I'm at a little over 38% complete.

I just hit 25% last night. Now I'm running through a few of the endurance races. I am using a Nissan Motul Pitworx 350z. At Laguna Seca right now, using B-spec, so I can go work on the Fiero now.

Does it automatically. The B-spec driver will pit when the tires are too worn. Don't know about gas, have always pitted before I ran out. Although I've heard that even if you run out of gas on the course you can still drive back to the pits at 45 mph, or something like that. I just make sure to give him a powerful enough car.

Here's some pics of the M3 CSL:

I dunno about you guys, but the Callaway C12 was a big let down...

I'm up to 41 cars now, 34 of which are modded to the max. How many cars do you other guys have? -Ben

I have been playin off an on but have rack up about 45 cars so far in only a year (wish I could say that in real life) I would have to say that I like to use the Crossfire, its white with carefully selected black rims with all the mods and it just handels lke a dream. The thing I like most about the Crossfire is they animated the electronic spoiler to lift up at about 70mph I get a kck out of it everytime I see it. I do have pictures but my makeshift USB device dosent work properly probably cause its formated for my camera but it has 2gigs of free sapce so I was hopin it would work.

I dont like to cheat but I like to have an advantage so Ive been doing what many have said to do for quick dollas'. Running the easy Capri rally and selling off the toyata give you enough money to buy just about any car soup it up (I try for the one that are used in the one make races) race the one make races and than do the capri rally with that car and the winning spoils so my garage is filling up as well as my bank account. Its all like Pokemon to me Gotta Get them All.

My most fun race was in the mercedes one make race I bought the classic black box one (cant remember the name) threw a few things on it but not alot in the horsepower range except for the wicked NAAAAWWS system and had a real close race with the McLauren SLR on Nurburgring. I had to get on the juice in the straights but could out handel the SLR in the corners. I thought Id do better cause I have used the McLauren in the very last Mission race and found it to be a very poor handeling car. Glad I didnt buy on in real life.

I got a '05 Mustang, a '70 454 Chevelle and a '03 Ford Lightning. With the same set up on all three (all mods on sport tires no tuning.) the truck runs the quickest. >_< The Chevelle and the Mustang spin the tires thru all 6 gears all the way down the strip.... depressing...me thinks me need race slicks and it'll fix traction problems. Anyways. Whats the proper way to drive a FF car? I got a Eagle Talon I'm playing with and I just jump on the brake before a turn and floor it thru let it pull its way thru. There has got to be a proper way to drive one.

05 Mustang -622.17 ft lb/4500rpm
-625hp/5740rpm
-13.294 1/4 mile best

03 Lightening -707.31ft lb/3250rpm
-646hp/4750rpm
-12.309 1/4 mile best

70 Chevelle SS 454 -746.22ft lb/3600rpm
-722hp/5600rpm
-12.856 1/4 mile best

I've only got 15 cars(6 of which are complete). I'm still poor. lol But I got me a Prowler, a RUF 3400S and a Lotus Espirit Turbo so I'm gonna have some fun.
