Ok this thread is to give tips and any heads up about the game. My girlfriend works at Target, and it comes out Thursday in my area so I have to wait 2 days before I can get it(well I can get a discount lol). I just learned that you can transfer UP to $100,000 and all the licenses you have in GT3 so i'm off to make 100k on my GT3 game. So when Thursday comes, how do I transfer the licenses & $$$ over?? Also can you keep transfering UP to 100k per different time??
So anyone can ask questions in this thread.
For me, besides the ones I asked above, is they're an official car list?? I heard the Fiero isn't in it, that sucks, but is there a Firebird at least?? Well that's all for now, thx.
No Firebirds at all in the initial list when the game starts (250 cars). There's 650 total so a Firebird or 2 is likely hidden. Maybe even a Fiero...
When I loaded it up first time it asked me after I created a profile if I wanted to load from GT3. It will probably work the same for you.
Thank you, btw you seem pretty new(your join date is obvious lol) so welcome to PFF. Also i'm not doubting your knowledge, but do you have any kind of facts saying there is a total of 650 cars in the game and 250 to begin with from the list?? Like I said, not doubting, just would like to see a resource for 2 reasons. #1, so I know its true, once again not calling you a liar lol. And #2, the most important, so I can see what is available, at least in the 250 starting, i'm REALLY anxious and can't wait till Thursday so yeah.
650 cars go look at the GT4 website forums and you will find it repeated hundreds of times.
The game is sweet btw. It will only let you transfer a and b licenses though. But hey the 100K was enough to buy me a 69 Camaro SS and mod it up to 450 horses. The suspension sucks and it needs a full custom tranny though. But i gotta save for that.

I KNOW IN MY GAME PRO FROM LAST YEAR THERE WAS A PHOTO OF A FIERO IN THE 8 PAGE SPREAD ABOUT GT4 . SO UNLESS THAT WAS A BIG TEASE AND I HOPE NOT .
Sorry to seem like a downer on this topic, but all of the revised car lists for nearly the past year have omitted the Fiero (as it did show up on some very early lists)... don't hold your breath

*faces turns red, breathes again* OH THANKS MinnGreenGT, now I can breath lol. So 650, so no Fiero more enlikely, but in my little world I will still think there might be one lol. I still hope that there is a Firebird, i'm sick of driving a Camaro as a substitute in GT3 lol.
Also the latest commercial is cool, the one about "Anybody can shoot a bullet, but can you handle one" or something like that....ok i'm tired, bye.
On the back of the GT4 CD case it says, quote: "Over 650 cars spanning a century of automotive history - Up to 100 tracks from across the world - etc". The 250 is gotten from when you login the first time and go to Arcade mode and choose your car. I'm pretty sure there are 400 hidden cars because in the Chevy portion of the list it doesn't show the IROC-Z Camaro, the '98 Z28, and a few others.
BTW anyone wanna give me 100k for GT4? I never played GT3...

Thanks!! I'm crossing my fingers for a 4th generation or at least a 3rd gen Firebird, fiero seems outta the question. Now I can't wait till TOMMOROW woot! Yeah it sucks, it doesn't come out in my area till tommorow but it's fine. That gives me time today to get 100k on my GT3 game, I played it last week and used all my $$ I wish I didn't now lol.
So.....I got the game today, ok well technically yesterday now. I went to Target and bought the game, my girlfriend dropped me off at my house cause she had to go home. I eagerly couldn't wait to play the game. GT3 is a great game, but out with the old in with the new.. So I put in the game...eagerly ready to play the game! I was watching in awe as the incredible opening scene unfolded infront of me. It was AWESOME. But then I got a phone call..., as it was showing the GT40. My girlfriends mom invited me to dinner at Red Lobster and that she was paying(even though I tried to convince her other wise) so I looked at the game....then at the phone........and I said ok fine and my girlfriend & her family came & picked me up to for us all to go to Red Lobster... I snapped off a picture before I walked out I continued to watch the opening scene, and it was AWESOME. Don't want to spoiler it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, but the song choice was great, two thumbs up totally lol. So I went to dinner with my girlfriends family. Came back, eager, and ready to play the game at last!
I was in awe in the layout and look of the game. I spent a good half hour looking through all the 250 cars that you start out with, there is 650 total, you have to unlock the other 400 as you progress through the game.
So I eventually made my choice, a 2004 GTO Coupe, in nice yellow. It was sharp looking. Oh one more thing. The game allows you to upload UP TO $100,000 and your A & B licenses on your GT3 game if you want. To do so, you go to home, and to game status. So ontop of the $10,000 you start with, if you did well in GT3 then you get to start with $110,000 and beable to choose a brand new car and a lot of mods to buy instead of a new one. So that was nice. So I bought a supercharger, brake upgrade, lightweight upgrades and etc. I also bought the black rims Enkie(spelling?) #021 I believe, just cause I thought it looked neat.
And off to my first race.....
WOW, the game is so realistic, I mean the opening scene portrayed that well but this was insane. Laguna Seca Raceway is so realistic looking, one of my favorite tracks. Plus the cars, and everything is just awesome. I definetely recommend to buy this game if you haven't yet.
Anywho, so my car has 530HP, and is smoking everyone one in the Beginners cup lol. I have the stock(medium) tires and I find that it's a bit hard to handle the car around corners. I just have so much HP(which sadly, I can upgrade even MORE as I discovered everything in the tune shop) that I even "burnout" in 2nd & 3rd gear. So i'm obviously just going to fast, I want to beable to handling turns better. I have the full customizable suspension so I lowered the car some. I have the stock(medium) tires on. So what should I do so I can turn corners sharper?? Adjust something(toe or w/e??) or buy better tires or what?? Also after winning a few races, I bought the Nitrous Oxide System. How do I activate it in a race?? It didn't say so in the game....well thanks.
*crossing fingers to unlock a Fiero & a Firebird at some point* lol

I gurantee there will be no Fiero.... C'mon now, who is rooting for the fiero to actually be in this game besides people who own fieros? So chances are (we) the little guy won't be thought of on this title. I am actually quite bored with this game. It is dissapointing to me. It's GT3 with some graphic polishes and some added cars. I think its been surpassed and its now a game of the yesteryear.
P.S. Get a bigger tv for gaming

Haha yeah I need a bigger TV for gaming. I do infact have another TV in the room. Its on the other wall, to your left if your staring at the little TV. It's like 27 inches or w/e?? I watch...TV on it lol, but the reason I don't play games on it is cause...
For some dang reason the white, red, yellow, plugs don't work??? I tried to hook my X-Box up and nothing...
So I tried the PS2...
Nothing..
POS lol, so I just play my PS2 on my little TV you see in the pictures. So yeah....its ok for now. Also I agree, I HIGHLY doubt a Fiero is in the game, but it's a nice dream . I just hope there is at least a Firebird, which I doubt since they just have the "the other F-Body" ...
To make the car handle better, you need the fully customizable suspension. Each suspension parameter you can change has a scrolling explaination along the bottom that should help you to understand. Good luck with the tuning though, I have been adjusting suspensions for years and have played every Gran Turismo so far and it still takes a lot of trial and error.
I transferred liscenses and credits from GT3 too, and I bought the HPA VW R32. IT was only 35k and has 530 HP. I spent the rest of the 110k on the suspension and other stuff to help it handle better. I only got to play for a few hours though.
Thanks Bigfieroman. Yeah tuning is a pita. I did a lot of trial & error on GT3 lol. My cars up to 586HP can't remember the exact # now. I am winning races really good with my GTO, just I wish to win fast with better handling lol. Also, better driving skills overall helps too, but I think i'm pretty good. I think the next car I buy is either going to be a GTO, the 64' one, or maybe a Camaro to unlock some things. Who knows.

I'm dying to play this game, I bought it for myself, and my playstation doesn't work well, so i have to wait til i can go to one of my friends house's which should be tonight.
Yeah the games awesome!! Wow i've heard the opening song before several times but I just looked up the lyrics and it totally matches the game lol.
quote
Jump back, what's that sound ? Here she comes, full blast and top down. Hot shoe, burnin' down the avenue. Model citizen zero discipline Don't you know she's coming home with me? You'l lose her in the turn. I'll get her! Panama, Panama Panama, Panama Ain't nothin' like it, her shiny machine. Got the feel for the wheel, keep the moving parts clean. Hot shoe, burnin' down the avenue, Got an on-ramp comin' through my bedroom. Don't you know she's coming home with me? You'll lose her in the turn. I'll get her! Panama, Panama Panama, Panama Yeah, we're runnin' a little bit hot tonight. I can barely see the road from the heat comin' off of it. Ah, you reach down, between my legs, ease the seat back. She's blinding, I'm flying, Right behind the rear-view mirror now. Got the feeling, power steering, Pistons popping, ain't no stopping now! Panama, Panama Panama, Panama
*rocks out* lol. Anyone know any other cool "car" songs??? Yeah i'm young so I didn't realize the lyrics before? lol. Anywho off to work out then play some GT4!

ive got a supra on one save that has 610hp and i have a R32 Skyline in another save that has 511hp..... r32 is hard to drive but the supra is FUN!!!
where is this "tune" shop you speak of... i have a Tuner Village but i haven tfound a tune shop
the photo thing is cool....
also the wings are USEFUL in this game.... they are ugly but useful.

I won the camaro lm race car and added a stage 4 turbo and NOS and its up to 912 hp . I really like the fact that you can now get a supercharger for a car that is not normally equiped with it. Hmm i need to go get my fix....C-ya !

Yeah there is the "Tuner Village" But i'm talking about the individual Tune Shops for each car. For instance for my GTO, I go to "Pontiac" then to "Tune Shop".
When in the F*CK did cars start handling like jetskis? Let off the gas and steering goes out the window? Lets see... let of gas, weight transfers to the front wheels, car slows down... the damn thing should not continue to severly understeer when you lift off of the gas... what a pain in the ass.
I need that damn wheel and pedals... how the hell do you get all the licenses with a control pad??? Yes I know the buttons are touch sensitive but the amount of control required is bull when most people aren't gonna spend an extra 150 on a damn steering wheel and pedals...
I have to go to an autocross track with my Prizm this summer and see if I just have no idea how crappy little cars handle in real life.
------------------ 88 Fiero GT Auto 01 Prizm 5 Spd.
When I went to autocross this past fall the little cars (Minis, subarus, etc) got their asses handed to them by my Camaro and the instructor's Camaro. The best times I got with the Fiero were around 33-34 sec while I got the Camaro down to 30. Minis got around 31-32 while subarus and other AWD got below 30. The instructor's Camaro Z28 got in the 27 sec range. Even though the Camaro feels like a boat because its so big, the rear wheels are easy to break lose and help in the corners. I have a feeling that a V8 or nice V6 Fiero could do even better though .
I've found that in GT4 letting off the gas does help a lot (the slower you go the faster you can turn) but you have to do it early or you'll end up in a wall. Just try to do only 1 thing at a time, like when going into a turn, lay off the gas and hit the brakes hard, then lay off the brake when you're in the turn. After that just lay off the steering and give it gentle gas as you come out.

I found it hard at first, but you gotta realize it's more realistic. I mean it makes sense, you expect to go around a sharp turn doing 80 to 100 mph with a car with mediocre handling??? Also practice makes perfect . My first few races were a PITA!! But now after some practice i'm doing ok now. It's a awesome game IMO.
Also what is the A-Spec points for??? And what is the B-Spec Skill points for?? Thx.
I think its the official site. It has a car list up with 720 cars, but no Fiero. I'm so ****ing pissed off I counted OVER 40 skylines in this game. I wouldn't want to own 1 why would I want to see 40+? Not to mention tons of econobox cars that can't even hit 80 mph like the Honda Today. Why do the japanese gotta hate on American cars so much?
The B-spec is for directing the race as a manager... you give the driver commands during the race such as overtake, draft, etc... you don't actually drive the car... it looks interesting... I haven't tried it yet myself. Hope that explains it.
Edit: I bought a new STI... that helped in the handling department

I'm just not head over heels for this game. I just believe it to be GT3 updated. I don't want to go through all that long junk again to get cars. Just gimme the key so I can get in them. Without the online feature, I just feel this one is a stinker. Also does anyone else find the turns oddly harder than the last game? Anyhow...I'm considering trading this title in for this one:

What race did you do to win the delorean? I think we should make some kind of list of what races win what cars and such.
Good idea, and at the same time listing what the sell value is. I love how you can clear races, cause I usually do that Hot Rod one over to win $9,000 total from all 3 races, then you win a Chevelle SS 454 and that sells for $14,XXX. So it would be cool to make a list like that.

If you want to make quick money, race the 2nd rally (Capri) in the special conditions hall. 2 races, and you win a Toyota RSC rally car worth 265,000 credits.
I like the game, love the graphics, and the car list (except for the lack of Fiero's and classic non-shelby mustangs) But WHY OH WHY does my 700 hp Cuda sound like Honda civic with a cofee-can exhaust?! thats one thing thats always bugged me about the Gran Turismo games.they never get the exhaust tones right!
