Jeff (black88gt),

CONGRATULATIONS! Your team saved their best game for last. I've never seen a defense so complete. Maybe If I'd had more opportunity to watch them during the regular season, I'd have realized how good they really were. Even Dilfer had a decent game. He hit a couple of nice passes, missed a couple of wide open receivers for sure touchdowns, and threw the ball into the dirt on the both swing passes but, he didn't throw any picks (at least none that counted).

There were two plays that may have changed the score (but not necessarly the outcome). One, Dilfer's interception that was called back for a penilty (terrible choice on Dilfer's part) that would have tied the game at seven all and; two, the touchdown return by the Ravens after the Giants had a return for a touchdown. That one seemed to take all the fight out of the Giants.

Two good things about the Ravens winning... I don't have to listen to sports casters saying, "The word champions New York Football Giants" in their best Howard Cosell voice all year and; the obnoxious New Yorkies who settle here in Florida wearing their New York Champion T-shirts and telling everybody how great it is to a New York sports fan (I just want them to go back north).

Now, are we taking odds on Dilfer being the starting QB by the end of next season?

Anyway... enjoy,
Roy

Congratulations Jeff. What a defense. Totaly controlled the whole game. 2 things that made the game for me were.

1. With the score 34-7, that made my numbers the 3rd qtr and final score winner. Thats $300.00.

2. Shannon Sharpe was not a factor and when they showed him during the National anthem, he actually kept his mouth shut.

HAHAHA!! I just got back from the Super Bowl party!! MAN THAT WAS AWESOME! Thanks guys for the kind words BTW!

I don't know which is better, beating a NY team, proving all of the national media dead wrong, or being able to gloat for a change!Geesh where to start....

Dilfer.
He had a decent game. He hit my fav. player Stokely for a TD, but he missed many many many TD oppurtunity's which could have potentially cost us the game. For that reason I don't think he is going to be back next year, or if he is, as a 2nd stringer. I mean, imagine what the score would have been if we would have had Marino. I think Billick likes Rob Johnson and he will pursue him in the off season.

Ray Lewis.
Played great as usual. They tried to expose his "weakness" (haha) of running back pass coverage, but he showed that he can do it. The Giants watched a lot of Titans film I think, because they saw how at the end of the Titans game they were actually moving the ball by doing those little passes through the middle to George. But then Ray comes through with the interception/TD return.

Modell.
I think its great he finally got a Super Bowl win. He has been in the league forever and has had some close misses before.

I don't want to go off on a rant here, but I am sick and tired of hearing about this Cleveland bullcrap. This team is NOT Clevelands team. How many players does it have from the "old" Browns, 2?! Is it called the Browns? Does it have the Browns colors? NO. Do the Browns still exist? YES. It's so funny because the national media, mostly based out of California and New York, wanted the Giants to win so bad. They won't let this Cleveland thing drop especially after the Giants were humiliated.
I don't see why everyone in Cleveland is whining anyway. Apparently, they hated Modell. SO WHAT THE HELL IS THE BIG DEAL ABOUT HIM LEAVING! They got their name back, they got their colors, they got the royal treatment from the media and the NFL. The NFL helped finance their new stadium. Did the NFL help finance our stadium? HELL NO. The NFL gave us the shaft. It's a well known "secret" that Paul Taglibue HATES the city of Baltimore. He and Jack Kent Cooke conspired for many years to keep a team out of Baltimore. When the expansion time came along, we got the shaft for Jacksonville!?! We were told to build a museum not a stadium by Taglibue! Like Ken Rosenthal said in his article on www.thesportingnews.com, The NFL should have expanded by 4 teams in 95 not just 2. Because look where we are now, expanded by 4 teams. It's not Baltimore's fault that no one wanted us to have a team, then Modell makes his decision to leave. For the people in Cleveland to call Modell a cry baby is like the pot calling the kettle black. Baltimore has been a football town since the Colts era, to try and harness that love is like sitting over Old Faitful with a trashcan lid. Modell knew this and acted on it.

Anyhoo, it's been a great year. It just sucks that it's all over. This has been great for the Ravens and the city of Baltimore. I mean, walking down the inner harbor people (strangers) are hugging eachother and giving high 5's left and right. No violence, no riots, just celebration. That in itself says a lot for the city and the team. The past month has seen purple lights everywhere, flags on cars, everything. It's awesome...

Congrats, Jeff.

It's nice to know that someone is real happy at the end of the season. I just can't remember the last time a quaterback as bad as Dilfer actually got to hoist that trophy.

At least Les Steckel is out of Tampa, eh Roy?

Next week is the Pro Bowl and I can brag because there are NINE bucs gonna be there.

GO NFC!

Poor RiceCooker! He has to watch Trent Dilfer win a super bowl in Tampa, and it's not the Buccaneers!

9 Bucs going to the pro bowl BUT ONLY 8 DESERVING!!! I'm back on Alstott's case again. He doesn't belong there.

Gramatica over my Packer's Ryan Longwell? Playoffs would have gone ENTIRELY differently in the NFC if he had made his field goal in Green Bay.

I don't know if Longwell will be a Packer next year.

Next year...this thread is done, isn't it? I had fun, boys.

Congratulations to the Ravens. They earned it. No one handed it to them (well, except Kerry Collins).

Yeah, this thread sterted with Alstott and it will end with him too. He's great, and I think the only reason he's there is cause he is listed as a fullback and there isn't a better talent at that position.
The fact that the bucs don't know how to use him is not the point.

See you next year everyone!

No more gloating for Jeff (Black88GT)
And no more Go**amn pictures of Trent Dilfer.

That "HottieGT" thread will not come close to the all time PFF record, "Oh, Those Tricky Buccaneers"

Well how about them Tricky Buccaneers! With the signing of Brad Johnson are they gearing up for another playoff run?

And as far as my Vikes go, it wouldn't be Viking football if we didn't have a disapointing finish to our past year! 41-0 ish! With the unfortunate and untimely death of Korey Stringer RIP, Moss's new contract, return play of Carter and Reed, and our favorite new QB Daunte things should shape up for an interesting year. I can't wait for the real season to start!

Lets get the football talk started, its been to long of a summer without it!

BTW, I am glad some orginazation finaly had the balls to bitchslap a pro-athelete(Terry Glenn) when they needed it.

The Bucs look really good. Warren Sapp lost a lot of weight - he is even faster now and just as strong.

I'm excited too. If the Browns can keep Tim Couch healthy, they might actually win 7 or 8 games this year.

(must...fight...temptation...to...bash...Bengals...)

Why don't we start a new thread for the 2001 season?

I agree, lets start a new thread for the 2001-2002 season. I'll go start one if one hasn't started up yet.
