Marian was listening to a local radio station on Saturday and they had a Rotary auction going on. She won a pair of Pat's tickets to the game at Foxboro stadium for ten bucks! We blasted down to the game yesterday morning in Fiero2 and had a great time. The Bengals lost by a field goal in the last seconds of the game, but it was still lot's of fun. Being a New Englander, I like the home team of course. Though it really would have been cool to have seen the Bengals kick some Patriot butt :o)
I thought that the vendors at the stadium would have had t least some cool Bengal merchaindise. They only had one type of small Bengal banner and one type of baseball type Bengal cap though. I guess to get any great Bengal stuff, I am going to have to go to the Bengals on line store or something :o(

Oh yeah- We had great seats in the 2nd section near the 30 yard line. They also "didn't" play "who's in the dog house" once. A little chilly- but a great day!
Thanks Marian :o)

Does anyone know whats going on with Ryan Leaf? First I heard he was making a comeback, then I heard he was down and out (for good this time) as a 3rd stringer, but then I managed to catch a piece of SportsCenter and they said he had like 200+ pasing yards a couple TD's? Whats the deal?

Who ever thought Philadelphia would be 10-6 this year! I thought they might have a shot at a wild card this year at 9-7 or 8-8 but consider this: They play Washington this weekend followed by Tennessee. After that they play Cleveland, then they get their bye week and finish the season off hosting the Bungles! New Orleans is on the way out. They have to play St. Louis twice and Denver. Detroit has a good record but they have yet to play Minnesota as well as travel to Green Bay and New York to play the Jets. A key wild card matchup is week 14 (next week) when Washington plays the Giants. Other than that, the Giants should cruise into the playoffs (unless they blow it) facing Arizona, Pittsburgh, Dallas & Jacksonville. Green Bay still has an outside shot at making the postseason as well but they are definitely going to play a spoiler role. They play Detroit in week 15, Minnesota in week 16, and Tampa in week 17.
Yeah, Jeff, the Ravens are playing like the best team in the NFL right now, while the Browns are playing like the worst (doubt they could have beaten San Diego yesterday).
But I'm afraid you long-suffering Baltimore fans are in for more disappointment. You see, Art Modell owns your team. And as a long-time Browns fan, I can tell you a Modell-owned team will never win the Super Bowl. When the Ravens stumble in the playoffs this January, he'll pick a scapegoat player and get rid of him (like he did Earnest Byner in Cleveland). This will hurt the team's performance and alienate fans. Then he'll alienate your great coach, who will leave for Kansas City. Then he'll cut or trade more favorites (like he did Bernie Kosar). Eventually he'll run the team into a mountain of debt and skip town.
Byner and Kosar went on to earn Super Bowl rings. Modell doesn't have one, and never will. That's justice for Modell, but I pity all you Baltimore fans who will have to wait for Modell to sell the team or drop dead before the Ravens win the Big One.
GO BROWNS!

Though the Bengals lost, they gave it a good try. They made a better showing than some of the other "better" teams that were favored to win and lost in other games. BTW: I won an awesome Bengals jacket off e-bay the other day for five bucks! The shipping was more than what I paid for the jacket. I can't waite for that baby to show up in the mail!

I got to see Aaron Brooks for a couple of pre-seasons here in Green Bay. He always looked good but there was no way he was going to play because Favre never sits out and Hasselbeck is pretty good, too.
So I knew the Rams were in trouble with Brooks at QB. Wish I could have seen the game. I got treated to the Bears vs. Jets. Yuk.
Uuana, we can concede nothing to the Vikings in the playoffs because that's where they always stumble.

Who watched the Bucs game? I don't know who is more unbelievable John Lynch or Derrick Brooks. Lynch separates his shoulder last week but still comes out popping people. Brooks, well, the guy is a dot com. (he's at the end of everything. He had 19 tackles but you had to see them. One he hit Rob Johnson trying to scramble in the open field and pretty much folded him in half. He was taken down backs in the backfield too. The one that really impressed me is when he got to Johnson just before he shovelled it to Bryson. Johnson lay motionless on the field but Brooks gets up and runs 25 yards back upfield to tackle Shawn Bryson who was dodging tackles. It was like there were two #55's on the field all day!!!
Everyone should go to NFL.com and vote for Derrick Brooks in the Pro Bowl right now And while you're there, Warren Sapp, Marcus Jones, John Lynch, Ronde Barber, and Keyshawn Johnson.
I was happy to see Jacksonville won too. That means the Ravens are winning the division, and THAT means HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE BABY! Guess who's going to a playoff game this year?

Umm did I miss something? Did the Chargers actually win a game? Next thing you know GM will start giving away Lt1's with free archie kits for loyal Fiero owners.. See what happens in an alternate reality.. Scary stuff... Chargers winning... hmm I need to lie down.
And who let this topic drift from the top?

Seahawks lose!?!?! What the hell? Well I suppose it was bound to happen again. It was a close and fairly exciting game. I think our "silent motto" is "Well there's always next year."
My Browns are not only the worst team in the NFL, they just might be the worst team in NFL history. They finished yesterday's 48-0 loss with 62 yards rushing and -9 yards passing. Spergon Wynn looks terrible at QB and Doug Petersen is even worse.
Meanwhile the Bungles won. Somewhere, BENGAL4 is laughing.

Its great to see the fins finally turning it up, but I wish that Dan the Man had hung around. Oh Well, all good things come to an end.
The Browns. Wow, what can you say? Aint Free agency a B***H sometimes? They need to look at spending some draft pics on their offense in the off season. Thats the only way out of that hole.

damn vikings.. damn fiedler! bucs score 13 of 16 points off of his turnovers, and he turns the ball over on their 30 with under 30 seconds left (in a position to tie)!
well, at least the j.e.t.s lost!
now who do the raiders and titans have left to play?
I thought the Ravens would shut out the Chargers easily! Would have been the record tying 5th shutout of the year. Oh well atleast it looks like we are going to get least points allowed.....

The Titans come to Cleveland next week, then host Dallas on Christmas Day. Last week I would have said the Titans would kick my Browns into Lake Erie with ease, but after watching the Browns score 24 points on the Eagles yesterday, I'm not so sure.
The Raiders will probably win out - they go to Seattle this Saturday, then host Carolina on Christmas Eve.
The Rams woke up yesterday too! Most years, by week 15, there are 4 or 5 teams that have a real shot at getting to the Super Bowl. This year, I count 7 - maybe 8 or 9!

Thanks goodness for the defense. I think the only reason Dungy puts out offence on the field if to give our defense a breather! 13 of the 16 points came off on turnovers. Then, I read in todays paper that Shaun King says. "When we have to score points we're confident we can do it". Yea, right. Well, this Monday... we're gonna need to! I hope he can "walk the walk".

Remember last years NFC championship game? The bucs were down by five late in the game and driving. They were at the St. Louis 25 or so and completed a pass to Reidel Anthony on a third a long for a first down. After replay, they overruled the catch because the ball hit the ground even though Anthony clearly had possesion. During the offseason they even changed the rule on that type of play because of it. Would the bucs have scored and gone on to the Super Bowl instead of the Rams? We will never know. What we do know is the winner of Monday nights game will be in the playoffs while the other will be sweating.
I get shivers just thinkin about it. I'd much rather be playing in a game like this than be watching it!

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!! The Packers win in Minneapolis! Sherm Lewis and Emmitt Thomas still can't get a win in the Metrodome! (they are current Viking assistants who WERE Packer assistants).
RiceCooker, the Buccaneers better beat St. Louis tonight because they visit the frozen tundra of Green Bay next week. The Packers are always good in the cold of December in Green Bay anyway, and now are on a roll. For them being 8-7 it sure has been a long season since it took them 15 weeks to get above .500.
Done gloating because I'll be watching the Vikings and Buccaneers in the playoffs and not GB. BTW, in the playoffs I still root for NFC Central teams even though they are rivals AND EVEN THOUGH I STILL CONSIDER CRIS CARTER THE BIGGEST JERK.
I had to pay $40 to a Bengals fan today...second year in a row I've lost to him. We bet who would have the better record at season's end: Browns or Bengals.
I still love my Browns, but I won't be betting on them anymore.
