Damn I knew the Bungles were bad, but I didn't realize they were THAT bad!! It was a blow out. The Ravens though did seem to rack it up, especially with that FG in the end.
How bout Mike Alstott, he never fumbles. I couldn't believe that one. Then the good ole half back option, man that really faked the pants off of those Bucs....
(chadman it was Martin to Chrebet, Testaverde had an awful game - I couldnt imagine if the Jets had a great QB...)

Well, being a Jaguars fan, the roust on Monday night football last night was pathetic. But I guess when the Colts are on, the Colts are on. They looked good.

Sorry for the inaccuracy - man, I am blowing it lately. First I was wrong about 87 Dukes having counterbalance shafts and in-pan oil filters. Now I've got the Jets QB wrong!
I have to confess - I paid attention to football Sunday, but was mainly focused on the USGP in Indy.

The worst part of my sunday was when after all morning CBS talked about the Jets-Bucs game to follow, they switched to regional coverage!!! Seahawks & Chargers?!?!?!?!?!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
Then Chrebet the flashlight must have shone his light in Mike "You're in bad hands with" Alstott's eyes or something because you never leave your feet when going into a crowd!
MIKE, MIKE, MIKE you let me down big time
gotta go for now, but i'll have more later
Oh yeah, did ya see Jeff Garcia kickin A$$?

Saw Garcia did well. So did Favre, so a draw there. Alstott totally blows it. Never liked him--highly over-rated. Had my reservations about Shaun King--remember this performance around play-off time.
That's all the gloating I'm going to do, though, because my Packers (who I still love even during this down time) are going to get pounded twice by the Bucs this year, and will get pounded in the Silverdome-as usual, and still likely not get in the playoffs.
I'm going to be hating it next week if the Bad News Bears beat the Packers in Lambeau field for their first win of the year. Can't type anymore, palms starting to sweat.

It might not be as bad as you think, frontal lobe. Sure, the bucs will clean the packers out when they visit Raymond James later this year, but as much as i believe in my team, they have never won a game in freezing weather. Well guess who's visiting Lambeau on Christmas eve this year?
There's a first time for everything though

Yeah, Packers are always pretty tough at home in December.
I re-read a few posts and saw how much you like Alstott, so I hope I haven't damped your enthusiasm for him any. Just because I have my biased one opinion, I want you to love your players and team with that same enthusiasm no matter what.
Now Curtis Enis...don't get me started again. What a wasted pick.

Don't worry, i dont get offended by other peoples' opinions cause that's just what they are - opinions
Gotta agree with you though on Curtis P. Enis First he blew it at half back, now they're trying to make him into a fullback. Sheesh, when will they learn. He was 5th pick overall right? (Penn State, i think) They should trade him for a 6th round pick while they still can

Curtis Enis-5th pick in the draft. Cade McNown-14th pick in the draft. I probably shouldn't say anything right before they play the Packers because now he will probably light them up, but there is another wasted pick. Haven't seen the schedule. Who's up for the Bucs this week?

Bucs are in washington this week as underdogs by a point and a half. Washingtons offense has struggled thus far and they're about to get stymied by the bucs who are a little pi$$ed about last week. I hope Keyshawn just shuts his mouth and plays like the pro bowler he is
I do believe the game is on Fox. Ironic that i won't be able to watch it - I'm going on a fiero run. Our Calgary Fieros are going to meet up with the Edmonton bunch and hopefully we can get 25 cars out.
Tough game. I don't expect Washington to score much, but I don't expect the Bucs to score much, either. Washington has a chance IF no turnovers.
Keyshawn. Excellent player. He DOES just need to shut his yap, though. I don't know why he, like a lot of players, think they have to be all "bad", and posture, and self-promote, and act all tough. If he was so smart, like he thinks he is, he should have known not to go to a running team with an inexperienced quarterback if he cared about his receiving numbers, which he obviously does. There are some BIG guys on that team that are going to let him know it's NOT his team, it's Dungy's.

MIssed the action myself - was on a fiero run but it was another seemingly strange week in the NFL. Why can't the teams who are supposed to win, just win?!?! "That's why they play the games"
Pittsburgh beats Jacksonville at home!!! Denver loses at mile high to New England!!! Carolina lost to Dallas!!! Tampa Bay lost it's second in a row and Deion Sanders had a punt return of more than 5 yards.
I'm so confused

Well... it's Wednesday and I've just now cooled off enough to look at this thread. My worst fears are coming true... Shaun King is a rookie... and he's playing like it. He seems to have the talent but lacks consistancy. He throws a couple of very nice passes under pressure but misses the easy one on a critical down even when he has time.
I'm convinced that the offence will never be a real threat until the verticle passing game becomes a regular part of our offence. We need to try to hit Green more that once or twice a game, just to keep the safety's guessing.
Warrick Dunn is DONE. He was great in college because he played for a great team (FSU)in a weak conference (ACC - no offence ment, just a fact). We need a running back who won't go down when sneezed on.
Defence still looks good but seems to lack the quickness and pop that I saw last year. Still... way above average.
Monday night football is next. Culpepper, Moss, Carter, Smith, they are a real threat. Minnesota hasn't been killing everybody like last year. I'm hoping that Culpepper sees a lot of #99. The best way to defend against those big time recievers is to put and keep putting the QB on his back.
We're two games behind Minnasota already... we need to win this game... BAD!

Uaana, you are KILLING me. The hated Vi-Queens. 4-0. I had my hopes that Sherm Lewis and Emmitt Thomas would screw things up for you guys, and that having a basically rookie qb would be your downfall, but no...
Intense rivalry which the Packers are going to lose twice this year.
Inspite of the rivalry, I actually don't mind a lot of the Viking players, including Randy Moss. However, I HATE Cris Carter. Talk about a huge showboat, big mouth jerk.
OK. I'm done now. Have to admit I'm jealous this year.

And Moss isn't???
He got kicked out of Florida State for crying out loud! Now that's BAD! Don't forget the little "squirt the water at the Ref" incident. Next to Keshaun (sp?) Johnson, I think Moss is one of the BIGGEST jerk in the league (well, maybe that clown from San Fran too). He is a great receiver... but still a JERK! Ummm... maybe the Vikes will cut him and he'll come play for the Bucs!

Personally, Id rather watch fly's f*ck than to watch any sporting event on tv, but hey, to each his own! Second to the "hotrodding my computer again" post awhile back, this has got to be the longest running post on T-off topic.

I totally agree with you mrfixit58! Warrick Dunn had one good rookie season. Since then he has averaged about 3 yards per carry. Has anyone heard of Aaron Stecker? I didn't think so. How about Bears receiver Marcus Robinson? Yup. Last year he was NFL Europe's league MVP then came into the NFL and had an outstanding year and went to the Pro Bowl (i think). Aaron Stecker won NFL Europe's MVP honors this year and is currently backing up Warrick Dunn. He had another good preseason too. If Tony Dungy would start Stecker for one game, everyone would realize what the Bucs are lacking in the run game, a guy who can break the big run. The only reason i think Warrick is still in is cause he is great catching passes out of the backfield. Anyways, that's my long post for today Oh yeah, the bucs have only lost when i have missed the game but you better believe i'll be watchin it Monday night on mute. Does anyone here like Dennis Miller?

Dennis Miller is a DORK! I have a 4 year college degree and and don't understand what the heck he's talking about half the time. If MNF wanted to bring some comedy into booth, I think they should have a couple of fat guys in T-shirts swilling beer, burping and scratching. The conversation would go something like this...
" Hey Bubba (burp), can you believe that boy? If he don't ketch that there ball dim Bucs is gonna get a whuppin'. Hey, pass me them chips.
Yea, Virgil, and if'n that big white guy running wif da ball coughs it up one (burp) more time, I'm gonna send him a get well card... get well outa town, that is!"
Back to the game, Roy

OK, you talked me into it. I'll hate Randy Moss, too.
My7Fieros, don't they show that on cable somewhere????
Dennis Miller, way too cerebral of humor (if you like it) for football. You need more of a joker/yukster, like a Bill Murray or someone. Dennis Miller to MNF is as Einstein to a tractor pull, babe.
This could be the longest-running thread of all time if we keep it up the whole season. Although I could be done now, because my team's season is already effectively over.

Playoffs one year, not jack the next. The Jaguars loose again. R.J. Soured (spelling error intentional) cant seem to catch the ball. Whats left of the offensive line cant seem to pull its job off, and then in a brilliant move, one of the guys finishes out a play with a hook-uppercut combo so he can hit the showers early. But at least Jacksonville is ahead of Cincinatti in the AFC Central! Unfortunately, we will get smacked around again next week on MNF by the Titans.
Life cant be all bad...Miami is 5-1!!!!

That was a great Tussle, eh? Zach Weigert threw the left hook, right uppercut combo to perfection!
And the bucs lose again... sigh.
I'll tell you why they lost 1: Three fumbles lost (giving up 17 points) 2: Mike Alstott needs to work on his intermediate passing routes 3: poor playcalling by Les Steckel. Yeah i know he's a smart guy and everything but there was no playaction last night!!! In short yardage & goalline situations, minnesota put eleven guys in the box. A little fake here or there would've easily got them a couple big plays. Anyways, i'm done crying for now. Me and my boys got two weeks to think about being 3-3.

You hit the nail on the head! I thought the play calling was great, EXCEPT, for short yardage. I can't see why, during short yardage situations, occationally why don't go with four wide-outs and a single back. This would force four defenders away from the box AND back the linebackers up to help double the middle and watch for the run. It may not work at the goal line but when your on the 50, why not? Everybody, including my 10 year old daughter knew Alstott was going to get the ball. That way the tight end was SOOOOO open. All Alstott had to do was put a little air under the ball and let hm run underneight it, then... touchdown. Good plan, poor execution.
Once again, Johnson had a chance to be a hero but he fumbled the ball then he dropped the pass at the five at the end. I'm beginning to think he's starting to think too much. It would help if King would quit throwing the ball behind him all the time.
It looked like the Vikes plan was to stuff the run, prevent the deep pass and make King throw underneigth the coverage to try and beat them. King almost pulled it off. Except for a couple of passes, he looked pretty good. I liked that 10 minute drive. Just needed seven at the end instead of three.
Oh well, we'll see them again in three weeks in Tampa. Did I mention I hate Moss?

I kid you not, I thought of you when Alstott sailed that pass over the tight end's head. What a GREAT call.
Poor Tony Dungy. He seems like such a decent guy. What must he have been thinking after that pass went SAILING over his head? Those are like a punch in the gut. Then you get to replay it in your head about a thousand times.

Hey, frontal lobe I just thought I would remind you that Garcia is the second rated passer in the NFL and has 15 touchdown passes (1 more than Warner) He's gonna add a few more tomorrow against the Pack too! No, garcia is not one of my favorite players - i just like to give credit where credit is due. Good news - The bucs won't lose this weekend

Well, Garcia got his touchdown passes. No fair, you had advance scouting on him with him being in the CFL for years.
Packers still won, so that's three of my wins to watch this year used up already. How many more? Three?
Passer rating is a confusing and to me misleading statistic. Wouldn't want to see what Garcia's passer rating would be with the Packers this year. Oof.

I think that honor goes to the "clutch info uncovered" thread which has something like 175 posts. Pretty clear what the biggest chronic problem with Fieros is...
How about the Lions winning last night?
How about Jeff Garcia being the #2 rated passer in the NFL?
How about the Bengals? Will they win a game this year? And if they beat the Browns on 10/29, will BENGAL4 show up at my home to laugh in my face?

I think I'm going to go throw myself off of a building My bucs have the same record as the lowly, lowly Packers.......sigh......... I could talk about this game for hours but it's just too depressing I still have hope though. Next Sunday the vikes are in town and we will clean them out! Remember 1998? (Vikes went 15-1) The bucs walked all over them then too. And just a little side note, the vikes will lose this Sunday to "Flutie Magic". Face it, all the guy does is win.
Will we ever win a game? Who knows. You guys, who follow winning teams, should count your blessings. LOSING SUCKS. I just wish we could score in the 3rd quarter. Well, it can only get better. Chadman, if we beat the Browns, I will show up at your door with a big smile on my face. Along with my restored Fiero. They are almost finished with it. I can't wait.
I sh*t you not, BENGAL - you show up at my door with that 3800 S/C and I'll grill you up a nice fat ribeye steak - as soon as you take me for ride, that is...
But don't wait for a Bengal victory over the Browns to come up, or I won't see you until Mike Brown sells the team.
Tim Couch broke his thumb yesterday!!! ARRRRGH!!! I am worried the Browns will only win two more games this year (10/29 hosting the Bengals and 12/3 visiting Jacksonville).

Well being a Tennessee Alum and seeing James Stewart finally get some credit after the way the JAG WADS treated him was nice. He is doing a real nice job for the Lions. I live in Jax and love seeing the "paper" Champion Jugs uh Jags choking like they are. Fred Taylor who? Who ? I was suprised to see James break some good ones on the Bucs "D". And Bengal dont worry they will win another against Jax.
PS : I hate to get caught up in all the hype but Damn! The RAMS are good as last yr. maybe better
