What a game!!! Rams not in the playoffs is looking pretty likely. Who would have thought. Wow, what a game to watch to help decide playoffs. Whatever team plays like TB/Rams game will win Superbowl. Bring on the last games of the season, feels like the playoffs have started already. My Vikes need to get out of the funk they have stepped in or there is no hope for Minnesota. Gotta love this game!

Man that MNF game was the best all year. I think Dennis Miller is doing better to, especially this game.
The end was the best, 4th and 2 on the 35, Dunn with the lateral to King who runs for the first down. I thought they were done (no pun intended) after there was about 5 Rams players all over Dunn in the backfield. King really came through tonight. I was very surprised.

There's no way the Super Bowl will be anywhere near as good as that Rams/Bucs game last night! The Bucs won that on sheer heart. Warrick Dunn is fantastic.
I can't believe the Rams are in jeopardy of missing the playoffs. But unless Chicago beats Detroit (in Detroit) and St. Louis beats New Orleans (in N.O.) they're out, right?

I had to wait until I caught up on my sleep before I could post to this thread. The game didn't end until two and a half hous past my usual bed time (I'm gettin old ). What a game. This was truly one of the best PRO games I've ever seen. With that backwards lateral, the label of "Oh, Those Tricky Buccaneers!" is back... at least for a week.
I hope the Bucs can shake this one quickly and start to really concentrate on the Packers. I really would like to see them shake that "40º or below - can't win" label.
The Vikes' may be in a little trouble. I read where Culpepper has a really bad ankle and Robert Smith has a bad knee. Both will most likey play but it may give the advantage to the Colts. Sorry Jimmy but, if the Vikes' lose and the Bucs win, the Bucs get the NFC Central title and a bye week in the playoffs. So... Go Colts!

If the Lions make the playoffs, they would be one of the worst teams to make the post season in recent years. Come on guys, think how bad the Lions actually are. They have a decent offensive line and James Stewart is good. Their quarterback stinks and their defence is overrated. IF things had gone a bit different this team could easily be 6-9.
But that's OK, I hope the Bucs play them in the playoffs - and you can quote me on that.
Don't forget bucs fans, not only are they 0-18 when the temp is below 40 but Favre is 26-0 when it's under 34 at Lambeau or something like that. If they can overcome that, they can do anything.
I was goin nuts the entire Bucs Rams game but the best was when Sapp pasted Warner.
Warner looks left, looks rights, steps to his left, then .......BANG!!! 300lbs. right into his chest!
Has anyone ever won the defensive MVP two years in a row? I think Sapp has a good chance. Tell me folks, is he not the fastest 300lb man on planet or what?
I think the Bucs will only get a first round playoff bye if Bucs beat GB, Vikes Lose to Colts, and NO loses/ties Rams. Talk about confusing! Vikes win central division with a Win or tie against Colts, or with a Bucs loss or tie against GB. Vikes get a first round bye with same as above in addition a NO win or tie over St. Louis. Lastly Vikes can clinch home field playoffs/first round bye with a win over Colts and loss by Giants. Whewww!! Anybody else confused!? I got this info from espn.
Anyway, Vikes are really hurting right now with Daunte Culpepper and Robert Smith in bad condition. Vikes are in a must win situation needing a rest for their injured players. Should be very exciting come this weekend! Go Vikes Go Jax and um Go Pack? (thought I would never say that)

Not nuff said. 20 catches...against the Bears. Still, a great feat.
Boy, I thought the Buccaneers game was great, too, but the Lambs defense was PATHETIC. Green Bay is playing well now, is at home, forecast for gameday is a high of only about 20 degrees. I wouldn't count on a Buccaneers win.
Remember a long time ago (like about 200 posts!) how I said how over-rated Alstott was? He makes the pro bowl AGAIN. WHY???? He didn't deserve it last year, he wouldn't have deserved it this year even if he played all the games, and the Bucs have showed he's been holding back the offense. They are doing MUCH better WITHOUT him.

And I still think Mike Alstott is great but i agree with you that he should not have made the Pro Bowl this year. I don't know of any GREAT fullbacks in the NFC (maybe Holcombe from St.Louis) but the bucs list Mike as a fulback but he's more of a halfback. Maybe last year's 3 touchdown performance in the pro bowl has something to do with it.
That throws everything off. Now we have the Rams back in the playoffs!
Ravens game was exciting. Vinny was on his best behavior (haha) with his 5 turnovers. They scored 14 in the 1st qtr. and I got a little worried. But then our defense woke up and held them to 20. Everyone at the game was hoping the Cowboys would win last night, but that was wishful thinking. Oh well looks like the Broncos are next, I need some tickets!!!

Lions lose by a field goal by Da'Bears, and the Bucs lose by missing a field goal, both of them in the final seconds. Doh!
Hey, Lions had a rough year, Batch had been hurt before the start of the season. Batch always hot or cold when he did play, and to top it off coach Bobby Ross called it quits around mid season.
I'd say that they did pretty good this year considering. But, they needed that win tho.
Can anybody remember a year in which so many teams in the playoffs were good enough to go all the way? No 8-8 Cowboys or 9-7 Cardinals in the mix this year!
It's probably safe to count Tampa Bay out (they lose in the cold, and they have to play in Philly on that crappy artificial turf) and Indy too (they might beat Miami, but won't win at Tennessee, Baltimore, Oakland, or Denver).
As for the other ten teams, I can't even begin to guess what will happen. Denver at Baltimore? St. Louis at N'awlins? All bets are off.
Well, another season down the tubes. Oh well. Playoff time and I'm pulling for the TITANS. Went to Nashville for the Bengals/Titans game a few weeks ago. Had a blast. They couldn't believe that someone would travel 5 hours to watch the Bengals. They kept buying me beers all day. I am one of about 30,000 die hard Bengal fans. Sat in their club section all dressed up in orange and black. Great fans. So I have to root for them, they are not ugly like Browns backers.
GO TITANS.

Titans fans aren't "ugly like Browns backers"? Man, even when the Browns are down and out, Bengal and Steeler fans are still kicking us. Geez, Bill!
I'd like to see the Titans win it all, too, so Eddie George can get a Super Bowl ring. Or maybe the Saints, so Jeff Blake can get one after suffering all those years in Cincinnati.
You never did the following, 1. Cussed me and my family. 2. Threw beer soaked plastic wrap at me. 3. Sucker punch me in the restroom.
These things happen to me over the years at Cleveland Stadium. In 1989, we went to the game there and I sat in the Dawg Pound with all my Bengal gear on and my face painted orange with black stripes. To be fair, most of the people were OK. The other ones are a different story. They wouldn't confront you 1 on 1. They wait until your back is turned, taking a leak. Then they punch you. Chickenshits. Never seen who did it, but they are lucky I didn't get my hands on them.
Maybe I am stating the obvious here, but what the hell did you expect?
You sat in the middle of the Dawg pound with Bungles gear on. Gee I wonder what will happen? Why don't you just dress up like a Klansman and head down to the inner city.

Wow, Bill. No wonder you hate the Browns so much. I'm sorry that happened to you.
Though I must say, it does take a strange mix of courage and foolishness to wear Bengals stuff into a mass of drunken louts like the Dawg Pound.
We had a few of those idiots at Ohio State, who would do things like egg the Michigan band bus and throw snowballs at Wolverine fans. Like any Buckeye, I hate the Wolverines, but unless their fans are standing up taunting you in your own stadium, why not just leave 'em alone?
I have attended Bengal road games in alot of cities. Cleveland is the only place where I had any trouble. Here they are in the order of hospitality.
1. NASHVILLE - The fans there are really glad you came.
2. MIAMI - I attended Super Bowl XXIII there. Had a great time. 49er fans were fun before and after the game.
3. KANSAS CITY - Rabid fans, but classy.
4. TAMPA BAY - Not too loud. I went there in 1990 when we were winning and they stunk. It's probably different know.
5. PITTSBURGH - Good time. Iv'e always respected the Steelers.
6. INDIANAPOLIS - They were obnoxious when they were losing.
7. BUFFALO - Almost as bad as Cleveland. When I was there, a few cars with Ohio plates, got their tires slashed.
8. CLEVELAND - As much as I dislike them, they are the best fans in football. They got hosed when Model took the Browns to Baltimore.
Jeff - As for what did I expect, Do you ever attend any games? If you do, then you know that all visiting teams have their rabid fans with them. Most of the Browns fans, respect someone that would go into enemy territory dressed like that. I am 6'1" and approx 270 lbs. Not many people are going to challenge me. This guy punched me in the back, with my back turned, standing at the urinal. Some one pointed him out, but he got away. I spend on an average, $3,000.00 a year, attending Bengal games. I have been there for the good times and the bad. When these playoff teams, start losing. We will see how many true fans there really are.
GO BEARS!!!!!!!!!!! Oh wait.. Im stuck in the 80's...
Sorry
OK Chicago needs a good football team. I trade the Bears, Cubs and 1/2 of the Sox for a good playing team. Ill even throw in the Bulls & 25 bucks cash.
Any takers?

Well, Buccaneers season to be over soon. On the road, cold and snowy, mobile quarterback they are up against...Green Bay showed that Tampa has NO offense if there is a half-way decent defense (unlike the Lambs, who made them look WAY better than they really are).
Boy, I can remember how worried I was when Keyshawn was obtained by the Bucs. Not anymore. Too bad he can't play like he talks.
I don't know what to think of the Vikings. Can they pull one out before going in the tank?

Hummmm................ Already bustin' on the Bucs, huh? Well, their offence is the same now as it has been all year. So, I will still give them half a chance. As far as the Green Bay game... if our (pro-bowl bound)kicker hadn't missed that field goal then the Bucs would have won and all the talk about not being able to win when it's below 40 degrees would be history.
The Eagles haven't been known for lighting up the score board this yeaar either. And, the Buc are VERY experienced with mobil QBs (Cunningham is a good example).
So, with all that, I can still believe the Bucs can pull off a "W" in Philly. Besides, next to the sub-zero temperature they endured at Green Bay, Philly should seem like a spring day.
Go Bucs, Roy

Best offense in the league my butt. The Bronco's offense was more reminiscent of the Bungles offense WITHOUT Dillon.
I was watching the NFL show on HBO with Dan Marino and a couple other guys. 3 of them bet on the Bronco's and said that Anderson would rush all over the Ravens. HAHA!
OK I am done gloating now. It was a good game, not as cold as last week (was breezy though) and not as exciting, but it was still a playoff game. Next week we will see the Titans, should be a great one...

Well, it's over.... The Bucs really stunk up the joint. I had hopes that with the new offensive coordiantor that this year would be our year. As it turns out, the QB we let go (Dilfer - Ravens) and the offensive coach we canned (Shula - Dolphins) are still in it a the Bucs are DONE.
a topic with so many replies, i had to join in, i was just thinkin, i dont enjoy sports that much, well, not watching and debating them... i just dont see how this is any fun..
you guys/gals actually find it interesting to brag about teams and try to look into the future?
seems like a lost cause to me...oh well.
heh no offense intended. just curious, none of this huge topic interests me, but thats me.

I'm not happy the Bucs lost, I just expected they would. I feel sorry for their defense because they have to play about 2/3 (40 minutes) of every game. If the offense did ANYTHING, the defense would have been tougher because they would have been fresher.
Vietnow, if you find your way back on this post, yeah, it's a waste of time trying to pick. It's just entertainment.
Regarding the "jawing" back and forth, you can't necessarily tell it in print, but it has ALL been good natured in my opinion. I consider all you guys my friends so if you want to rip on the Packers it's no big deal to me.

you could tell he wasnt happy leaving. he looked so out of place on the HBO show... kinda had that what the hell am i doning here look the whole time.
i think they need to go after Rob (definatly not Doug, I shouldnt be in this league either) Johnson, or Trent Green, in free agency. or make some sort of trade to get a high draft pick and take Wenkie.
it's too bad the jets have the boy from marshall... he's going to be a great QB in this league, one day!
with my luck, thye will probably go after jeff lewis as a back up, and cut Huard!
just when the receivers started getting healthy, Fiedler had to start acting lick a guy that had been cut and outa football for a year!
i really did enjoy watching them play this year... much more so than the jimmy johnson years! it's a shame that it had to end in the same manner it always did, when he was there!

Any bets on the vikes blowing it in the final NFC game? Well soon I will get to watch nascar again although I don't know if I should cheer for B Labonte again (he drives pontiac) or if I should go for one of the new dodge teams (I like underdogs)...
