Question for fierobear, Has anybody thought of organizing a caravan from northern California? I think it would be extra cool to have many Fiero's on the road at the same time. How about a e-mail to the many Fiero members to ask if this would be popular?

Another question came up for those only attending Saturday. Since the attendees were not going to be there on friday night to attend the reception, I gave a $2.00 discount on the Dinner - Reception purchase. They would still get the all day Saturday benefits of beverages on the show field and the Awards Dinner.
Anyone who is in the same situation can do the same. Please, send in your pre-registration and just mark it as a SATURDAY -ONLY attendance.
See you soon!

I hope we talk when we are in Solvang. My wife also makes Aebleskivers. Is you mom Danish? I said earlier, in the post above, my wife's Danish. She'll be there too. What kind of Fiero do you have? I'll look for you...
Cordially, Kevin
I'm not going to be there-- I live in Wisconsin now. My mom still lives in Los Osos though, and her family is Dutch, Irish, Scottish and German. Probably a little Dane tossed in there somewhere along the line, ha ha. I have a yellow 88 coupe and my dad has a bone stock red 88 gt. Maybe someday the little yellow car will see the west coast; I hope so!
1. Any one looking for an EGR cover i am working with a supplier to get some and sell at the show. They will be 25.00 each and i might be able to get some crome ones too dont know the price on these.
2. I am in need of a fiero to do a test of 3 sets of steering wheel controls that i have. If i can find some one to help me out i would be willing to give them an EGR cover for free. "If i do get these in time for the show from my source"

You folks will have to do the organizing. Mrs Bear and I will be leaving Thursday morning, so we can do all the shopping for snacks and the set up.

For anyone bringing their little Fiero angels to the banquet on Saturday night the cost will be only $6.50 plus tax and tip. We have a choice of either hamburgers or chicken strips of which we need to find out the one we want the restaurante to prepare.
Please let me know ASAP if you will be bringing any young Fiero family members so I and make arrangements with the restaurante.
Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!

We have to give Pea Soup Anderson's a head count for the banquet Award night on Saturday. If you haven't sent in your registration and plan to attend the banquet then please let me know ASAP how many people will be attending. I've got to give them a headcount on Wednesday. I know that there are probably a lot of you out there that are coming to the show but haven't sent in your registrations forms. I don't know if you plan to attend the banquet or not unless you tell me. If I reserve a spot for you just because you were there last year and I think you will be here this year ansd then you don't show then I have to pay for it. I don't want to guess and be wrong. Please let me know if your are coming and how many will be in your party coming to the banquet. Send to msbear@pacbell.net

The show will be in parking lot #2, right in the center of town. We have 2/3 of the parking lot, the rest is open to the public. There is also street parking all around. Here is a map of downtown Solvang:

We are going to have one half of the city's parking lot for ourselves and the city will still have the other half for regular public parking available right next to us. If we do not have enough space for our Fieros and our own guests to park in our half of the lot then unfortunately the Un-Fiero's or those that are not showing thier cars will have to park in the next half of the lot or on the street. The city does charge a small fee I think for their parking spaces. I can't remember if the street had meters or not. Would have to look at the pictures John took to see.

Bear...we have two thirds (2/3) of parking lot #2. And all the parking in Solvang is free.
What? No 4.9? I was hoping Rick could just drop it off at my house on the way home!
You know Dale, I really, really wish we could drop it off at your house. Sometimes other things get in the way, but we really want to get it done asap, it will be at the top of the list of jobs to get done this summer.
Since I have the gto, me and Rie will have to go burn some rubber! lol

I know the feeling. My list of summer projects is a mile long. Finish redoing my boat. Put new interior in Jeep. Start on Marie's Rolls Royce. Build her Fiero. Clean up garage. Move hot tub to gazebo. Get bus ready for next year.
And that is just the big stuff. Guess how many I have gotten done so far?
ZERO!
And about that burning rubber... No V here. Just a little ole stock CTS.

Got your calls but I have been swamped. Glad you managed to fix it yourself.
See you there
Todd, A picture was truly worth a thousand words. Woodard's was able to duplicate your tranny mount mod and it works great! They also fixed my cherry red exhaust problem. Or actually I did but I masked my success by inadvertently shifting the timing off by ~15 degrees while putting the distributor back together. When I fired it up the manifolds started to glow red faster than I could get the timing light on it. So, I panicked and decided to let the pros take over.
I just drove it home and it ran great until I parked it in the garage and let it sit and idle. After ~1.5 minutes it stalled out. It then would not start. After letting it sit for ~30 seconds it would start again but die after idling for another minute or so. I then got gutsy and drove it over to Monument to pick up another ignition module just in case that was the problem. When I got home I thought I should install my new trunk carpet first while I still had some daylight left. While in the process of doing that I broke the trunk lamp assy while attempting to re-install it. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. I decided that Westfest just is not in the cards for this car and that I was throwing in the towel.
We are still going but the GT is staying home.
See ya on Friday, Marty

WARNING, from Santa Maria to Solvang on HWY 101 South it's COP CENTRAL!
Watch that speed.
Yeah, whenever I make weekend day trips to LA, I leave around 5-6 in the morning and not a cop the whole way. On the way back though, between Buellton and SM there are always at least 4-5.

Your Westfest staff is on duty in Buellton. We'll be ready for registration in the pool-area gazebo at the Best Western tomorrow starting around 3pm. Snacks at 5pm, games at 7pm. See you all tomorrow.

Won't be a problem for me. I always try for max gas mileage on trips like this so I'll have the CC set for 65. Oh, and you guessed it. I'm risking it and taking the GT. I put a new ignition module in it tonight and it seems ok. So far no more stalling. I hope to see you all late Friday afternoon. Wish me luck! Marty

There is a NAPA Auto Parts store just up the road from here so we can grab some parts and run up to meet you if you get stuck. You have my cell number. Good Luck!
BTW, get an early start. My bottle of Blue Label is down to about $110 of Scotch left.
