Original thread title, but it was too long. Could a few members meet up to support 87antuzzi as he travels across the country via bus?
He isn't asking for this, he is asleep right now and doesn't know this thread is going up, and I have not discussed this with him. This is all me here.
Here is the short part, Kris is going to be leaving Thursday to come here. Due to circumstances beyond his control at the moment he will be leaving with next to no money.
2 days, and a few hours on the bus with no food, and no real way to buy food coupled with Greyhounds famous 6 dollar bottles of soda, and 8 dollar bologna sandwiches (condiments extra) makes for a rough trip, doable, but rough. Basically he could use some guys to stop by the terminals and help him out a bit.
Food would help, something that would keep on the bus, snacks? I'm not sure what, he doesn't drink soda, and bottled water is gonna be high at the terminals. I know he could really use the moral support, REALLY use it IMHO.
He won't have a lot of time during stops, the longest is around 1.5 hours. But he is going through areas that have members here.

Also note that the bus stops in several places besides those noted. There are unscheduled (smoke breaks) that the driver typically takes at certain gas stations. There are also waits that are not noted, I see 40 minutes in Los Angeles, and 4 hours in Sacramento. (Apparently transfers don't count on Greyhound.)
I'm no where near those places that he'll be stopping but I do have some extra cash if theres a way to get it to him? Does he have a bank account? And if so, would it happen to be a national bank or credit union? (Bank of America, Suntrust, etc)
I don't think he does Sara, and sending to family is out of the question. The wife and I are trying to figure out if he can access some funds through Money Gram, or Western Union. I think one of those we are supposed to be boycotting for some reason though.
Paypal would be nice, but I believe his goes right to his Mom, and that would be money he would never see again.
I may start taking donations if it's not taken as me trying to take advantage of the forum.
My brother took a long bus ride a few years ago and the only thing he said that would have made it better is if he had some company or anyone there for him.
If I can get to one of the locations near me I will. Antuzzi is in my prayers. Brad let us know when he gets there safely!

IF you cannot make it to a bus station and want to donate, and
IF you are not going to suffer because of the donation. then
brad@wheatoncomputer.com for paypal. We are setting up members to give along the way, where possible.
If you want to remain anonymous then tell me in the paypal. I will forward the money to the other places if possible, and use it to get the stuff here ready (he probably doesn't want to sleep on a couch for instance) with a trip to goodwill.
I am also low on corn cobs.

Brad, I have to cut in once again to say thanks for what your doing. I see this as the "civilian equivilent" to answering the call to fight for freedom. You have stepped up to be a good samaratian and that is one of the highest callings one can do, is to help a friend in need.
Even the bible has a passage "Greater love hath no man then when he lays down his life for a friend." While you are not "laying down your life" in actuality, you are teking the time to help, witch is metaphorily (spelling) "laying down your life" for a friend, and that is to be commended.
Personally I consider this to ba just as important as Tyler Shipman's thread as it goes far beyond PFFs original intent as being "just a Fiero forum."
Thank You.

He is going to come within range of my place. So I would like to be clear on a day and time? He is getting on the bus tomorrow afternoon the 19th? And will be in Coalinga at 02:15am on the morning of the 20th?
I know where that bus stop is, I just don't want to be there on the wrong day

The world could use a lot more people like you. Thank you for reminding me that all is not lost.
Brad is a great guy who would give someone the shirt off his back if they needed it (not sure they would want it I've seen his fashion sense) I wonder about him sometimes when he talks about corn cobs and such but know if I needed help with anything he'd be there in a heartbeat.

I have zip for money to, but do know you can put money at any western union and have it on the wire so to speak. Meaning he can pick it up at any western union anywhere with just an ID. At least they used to do that.
You may want to check on if they still allow that.
I used to send it that way to my older kids.

I'd be glad to help out but I'm too far east and not on the route.
Good luck on the trip! Good vibes to all helping out!
This community of PFF helps it's own very well. Everyone should be proud.
EDIT TO ADD: I just submitted ratings for all those helping out. If I had not rated you then I gave a +. If you had a neg from me I went back to neutral. Cheers all!

Good luck Tuzzy. There really needs to be more people in the world like you, Brad.
Is there a picture of him anywhere on the forum, just so that people that are wanting to meet up with him will know what he looks like
Anyway, I'm planning on heading over to Brads later on this evening to help with cleaning out a room and finding some furniture (bed, dresser, etc) so he should be set for a nice long nap when he gets to Wheaton

Who is going to meet him in Cali and do they have a paypal account?
I will meet him tomorrow night but I would rather people send money to Brad. A single point of contact is usually a good policy. I don't want anyone to inadvertently send me money after tomorrow night.
If anyone wants to send me money to give to Kris anyway, then send me a PM before 12 noon PST 19 Aug and I'll relay it to Kris when I meet him tomorrow night.

This would be cool, but I don't mind just dropping the "supplies" off with the bus driver if he needs the sleep.
< likes reading threads like this, if nothing else the $ people are sending will allow him to eat on what looks like a very long bus ride.... hope he has a PSP or something to play to save his sanity!!!!

Is this a good paypal for donations tword room & board?
Yea, all extra (unless the sender states that they want it to go to otherwise) from the trip etc. is going toward all the stuff he may need here, like a bed, hooker, Peach, etc.

Donation sent. You had me at "peaches"..........
I could only do $20.00 bucks. Between being unemployed & driving 200 miles for fruit, i'm getting pretty low. I hope it helps to offset a small piece of the costs a little.
