Thanks for posting that. I was looking for that video for a while, couldn't remember what to search for to bring it up.

Definitely not stock, that engine's from a q45, the vh45de. In simplest terms, it's what Cadillac was competing with with the N* engines. More vids:

Then of course there's this goddam sonofabicthmachine:

You just posted parts 1 and 4, that's all. Here are parts 2 and 3 (if you want, you can edit these into your posts in order and I'll delete them from mine to avoid confusion. )
Thanks for sharing.

Part 2:

Part 3:

------------------
'88 Fiero GT - coming soon! - Project MIDTRBO

'10 Camaro LT/RS, 312hp V6 6-speed -

The rest of my cars are for sale
There's no replacement for turbo placement

That being said, was the documentary on the McLaren F1 posted here? I don't remember or have time to check, but if not... It should be. That car still doesn't fall too far behind the Veyron and didn't require 2 or 4 or 10 of EVERYTHING to do it, and even with 10-15 year older technology. That right there is THE epitome of the KISS principle. Oh, and it actually looks good too. All this envisioned and designed by a guy who sported a mullet! Sweet!
The Veyron is completely the opposite. Both are very cool in their own ways, but I'll take the pure sportscar thanks. That's saying a lot considering my love for all things turbo and aerospace.

Though, it's not like I wouldn't drive them both if I had the chance, and they do both belong in this thread.

Oh and P.S., that Veyron documentary narrator is annoying as all hell, he hypes up EVERYTHING, even the completely common industry processes and materials, and he rivals Jeremy Clarkson for the grotesque overuse of the phrase [clarkson]...in the world...[/clarkson] (though Jeremy at least makes it funny, heh).
That's TV for you, I guess.

Here's one that I've always liked...

It's a 1991 (I think) Porsche 928 GTS. This guy was on the message board "RennList" that I used to be on when I was rebuilding my Porsche 944. He used to race his 928. The motor is totally stock, he just has an open exhaust and the suspension is tuned for racing (also the interior is gutted except the dash and door panels)

I thought this was a Bad Ass cars thread?
Anyway, thought I'd post the -----FIRST---- REAL---- Bad Ass car.
Anybody who's seen the CanAm cars in action back in the late '60s and early '70s knows what I mean.
Also, troll around the related threads in the youtube sidebar.

I can hear you saying---
"But Brian, that McLaren isn't dangerous enough!--It looks like a conventional sissy-girlie car, I want to see something Freddy Kruger scary that was actually raced!!"
So here you go.

You guys are living the dream in Kentucky, I guess.
"Camero" is actually spelled "Camaro".

Actually that irritates me too. Oh, and there is no such thing as an '09 Camaro.

But yes, it's a matter of opinion. To a racecar driver in the year 1900, I'm sure that a stock 1989 Ford Escort would be pretty BAD A*^. To say that one's opinion is wrong is based on a false premise... a true opinion can't be wrong.

P.S. The war ended a LONG time ago guys.

Now... more BAD A*^ cars please, racecars and street cars alike.

And if the "Little Z24 That Could" bothers people or more importantly if it bothers unboundmo I'll gladly remove it as this is his thread .

More please.

Must... Go... Faster...

I want my Fiero finished so badly that I can taste the burning rubber upon launch and afterward feel the void that it leaves in the space-time continuum while inhaling the planet and spewing it out into a molten glob of turbine-induced incineration.

Can Am for the win !

There never has, and sadly, never will be anything like it again. In it's day, nothing-I repeat- NOTHING was faster on the track. Take that, F1!
Lola T70 (Can Am or GT) might just be the most beautiful machine ever conceived by man or god.

Not as bad as some in this thread, but this is MY little Bad ASS Hot Rod....

1.8 Liter 4Cylinder Engine Balanced and Blueprinted, Ported and Polished, Pauter Rods, WeisCo Pistons, Custom Ground Cams, Magnuson MP 62 SuperCharger at 16PSI, Pushing 350 rwhp before the Methanol and 100 Shot of Nitrous. Ohhh Sooo Fun... All in a 2000 Miata.

When I drive it thru a Tunnel, it sounds just like a F1 car.

Those Ferrari's sound nice! I spanked a 308 in front of a LARGE crowd last summer. HE was NOT happy I sure was!
I plan to get some better video this summer. Last summer we just did not have a good camera.
