Hi, I don't want to hi-jack this thread, but since my question is related I am going to ask. I am looking into getting a bike, I don't have any experience, but have had the desire for a long time. I am 30 years old, and aprox. 220 pounds, I have just bought some gear, and enrolled in a new riders class. I like cruiser's, but can't afford one, and don't want such a big engine for my first bike. I have been researching sport bikes, and want something that is beginer friendly with an upright riding position. Also a bike that doesn't have crazy power would be a good idea. I am thinking about an fz6r, or a ninja 250. Both are good beginer bikes from what I have read. Anybody have any thoughts or suggestions.
Start another thread asking about it and you'll get plenty of responses and suggestions
You can find smaller sized cruiser bikes that'd be in about the same price range as the fz6r and ninja 250 pretty easily, so don't discount the whole style if that's what you like, just start looking at some of the bikes with smaller engines, same as you are with the sport bikes.
To keep the post going, My 1994 Tomos Targa LX, 5300 miles , 47mph on flat road. (verified w/ GPS)
It's 15 years old, still looks new. Rode it to work yesterday & today, many of my customers asked if it was for sale. I parked it in front of the store, next to a railing. They were shocked it was that old. Many guessed a few months old.
My daughter sent me this one a few minutes ago from her cell phone.
That's a great pic. Been thinking about how I could take my buddy Jake with me on my Valkyrie but at 140 lbs., I'm not sure in a crate that high up would be a good thing for the CG or for my back loading Jake into the crate. Thanks for posting that pic.
Here's my 'official' first bike on the day I rode it 4 hours home. It's a '95 Kawi GPZ1100. It's for sale now ($1500), though I love it. Too many projects:
Here was a stupid Ebay adrenaline bid, I paid too much for something not in great shape, not all original. It's an '85 Kawi 750 Turbo:
And here's something of what it should look like when I'm done, though with a different paint job (and this PS isn't quite done). I have all these parts... '95-'96 GPZ1100 front fairing/gauge setup, 1985 GPz900R tank and tail section with a Corbin single seat, and a '96 ZX-9R front end. Not PS'd is the '03 GSX-R 750 swingarm and wheel (or the bigger turbo, heh):
I'd be willing to sell the 750 Turbo for what I paid ($2k) if anyone's interested? I'd keep the 1100 and turbo that.

Nice bike. I love the 2004 R6. I posted mine a few posts above but will throw in the pic again because I drool over it, especially in this weather. Although it could be an R6S, they all look the same and I think are based of the 2004 with no real changes, just kept producing it becuase it sold well I think
Also have you heard the 2009 R1? Sounds amazing, but I don't care much for the looks. Theres lots of videos on youtube of the sound. I

Credit where credit is due: If you read the fine print you know that while that is "my" 1967 R69S, I haven't owned it for 40 years. The spectacular restoration was done by its third owner, a guy named Tucker Glavin who lives near Boston. The optional (and rare) 6 1/2 gallon "Sport" tank is original, but the solo seat is new, as are the very rare French Police headlight and taillight rings, the headlight-mounted mirrors, the turn signals, and a few other minor details.
The last I heard from Tucker, "our" R69S had been sold and was on its way to Australia.

2006 Special Edition Kawasaki Ninja ZX14 -Stretched, Slammed, N2O, and Scary Fast.
Nice to see so many here are bike riders! My next one will be a turbo busa.
Lol extended swingarms just look silly on anything that's not on a dragstrip. I'd never dream of taking my Kz on the street. What an awful handling drag beast! Looks like that zx's sport touring days are over.

For me, I can appreciate anything with 2 wheels. Tastes vary and there is nothing that says my bike is superior to anyone elses ride.
I don't understand why I will be talking to someone about my bike and then ask which one is theirs. They always say, "Oh, you wouldn't like mine" or "It's nowhere near as nice." Just show me your bike and what you like about it. Happens every bike night.
I have been riding this Harley since 1999, it's a Heritage soft tail springer, I still love it after all these years. The other bike is my newest addition, a 2000 Triumph Sprint RS. One day soon I want to do a trip across the country, still have not made up my mind as to which bike to take.
So many pretty 2-wheelers. Makes me want one even more.
Anybody got a standard/cruiser style they'd trade me for an 86 Fiero? It needs to go somewhere where it will be driven anyway, I've kinda drifted away from it.
Forgot this was posted, edited because I found one.
