I was wondering that too! Think its part of the concrete structure holding the road to the side of the mountain

That's quite a difference. Looks good, but is it bad that I still kinda liked it the other way?

Thanks! Well the one good thing about how it looked before is that if you lay it down your not destroying a bunch expensive plastic.

My 82 kz1000 the day after picking it up
This images is larger than 153600 bytes. Click to view.
My 82 kz1000 as it sits right now, my 92 nighthawk in the background (nighthawk has a mac pipe. super fun and zeo maintenance!)

92 nighthawk by itself

my 91 Dr650 sitting by itself. easily my favorite. kick start, light weigh, have a set of street performance tires/wheels for it for mountain runs; so much fun

new bike, 2005 fz1 w/ 9k miles

the keen eyed might notice that i took the bars that came on the kz1000 (low) and swapped them onto the nighthawk - i swear, the nighthawk is really really fun. it has a mac pipe with a baffle from a vw performance exhaust. sounds raaaad.

OK....Since I couldn't bring my Fiero to the 25th, I acquired a motorcycle to tour the area on:

2007 Harley Davidson FatBoy
I learned a lot from the 900 miles I put on that bike in 6 days. First, I learned that my Suzuki Intruder 800 may be a V-Twin, but it is still only a toy compared to a real bike. I learned that the 6 speed on the new Harleys will put you at just over idle at 70 mph...providing 48 mpg (about the same as my "toy" that has half the engine). I learned that you can really piss off the driver of a Mustang when you are right next to them at 100+ mph with your feet out in front of you and a cigar in your mouth (making it look like you aren't even trying).

I want it, I want it, I want it....but...I need to buy a house first. I can use the equity in a house to buy a Harley, but I can't use the equity in a Harley to buy a house. After riding it for a week, it is hard to justify NOT buying one.

Not a motorcycle....but a "motersickle" as my grandfather would call it...

I just picked up this 2001 Yamaha Zuma a few weeks ago. It has 2600 miles now, I destickerified it, added the trunk and Corbin seat.
It only goes ~35-40 mph and is "supposed" to get over 120 mpg, but I don't think I am getting that good...I usually ride it WOT.
Its also pretty good off road too. It doesn't have to be titled, insured (although covered under my home owners), you don't have to have a drivers OR motorcycle license to operate since its under 50cc, and licensing it cost $5.50 for three years!

Also matches the Wing pretty well too!

CRAP... I ran carb cleaner through my CBR and got it to the point where it was running on carb cleaner.... WELLL i guess it knocked out a LOT of junk and fouled my plugs. So today im going to take all the plastic off and replace the plugs but the plastic isnt goin back on until i paint them. Also on my list of things to do is i want to swap on a f4i cluster! I just have to find one first. Then ill make it light up Bright green. That scooter looks fun lol.

Ok... im to lazy to paint everything right now and i didn't have to take the plastic off to change the plugs so thank goodness.

Something kind of made me angry today... I rode past this house coming home from work and here comes this lady screaming at me telling me to slow down.....
The thing is, I never speed there and i was going the speed limit? Maybe i just sound fast? Im going to start riding with my GPS mounted so I can turn around and show her my top speed for the morning... 25mph.

If i could sell my bike for 4 k and save 900 i totally would! I think what I am going to do is keep my bike, beings mechanically its pretty much virgin "minus the thousand miles ive put on it so far" and get the f4i cluster and the newer style headlights and plastics to retrofit on. Then maybe putting it on craigslist after im bored with it and see how much some kid will pay $$$

Man i want your bike though Ill give you my bike after i paint it + 900 ? Then you still have a pretty sweet bike plus 900 bucks!

LoL, Its cool I didn't really think you buy it. I can't do any trades do to the fact I am selling it use the money towards buying my home. I work for a car dealer and they will let me put it in a dealer only auto auction, I think that will be the best place to unload my bike. Its quick and simple and I dont have to deal with people coming to ride it.

If I were you I would do as you planed, just keep your bike and have fun!!

Don't think I posted it in here, but I bought a new (to me) bike about two months back: 1992 Suzuki Katana 1100 with ~19K on it.

This images is larger than 153600 bytes. Click to view.

Needs mirrors, front turn signals (just 'cuz I don't like the looks of the ones on there now) and exhaust (I don't like the look or sound of the one on there now).

Bought that for $1500, sold my 750 Kat to a buddy for $500. Not too shabby, aside from the cold weather and snow on the ground

here are some pic's of mine.
this is my 06 nightrain custom I built. it has a 103 stroker motor with NOS Dinoed at 114 hp without the NOS and 163 hp with.
the pic was taken at a Hooters bike night and made the cover of US Rider news

this one is my 07 street glide that I had 2 days before I took it apart and repainted it
This images is larger than 153600 bytes. Click to view.
and last but not least, this one I built from the ground up and have since sold.

I love to build Bikes as well as cars. I have had several bikes of all kinds over the years.
my wife wanted me away from the sport bikes because she did not like the idea of me doing 100+ in the mountans so she bought me the 06
and compared to what I was used to it was a turd! so I re built it now it will smoke a 750 from light to light.

GAWD i miss this thing should have never sold it. It was soooooo fast it would rip the moisture from your tear duct in a twist of the throttle.

2000 R-1 Lowered, Piped, Jetted, Ported & Polished Head, Factory timing set, Adjustable Cam Gears, 4 teeth up on the rear.

Man it was hard to keep the front tire on the ground.

I am a full time student now and needed to get rid of a payment so I traded in my 07 R6s for a 95 Honda VFR 750 with 20k on it in mint condition. After riding it I don't think I can ever go back to an inline 4 again because its soo smooth and comfortable.
Naskie I used to have an 04 Kat 750 when I was in the Army but traded it for the R6 I had. They are great bikes just too front heavy for my liking. My VFR is the perfect bike for me and after a lot of research, eyeing it up for 2 months, and waiting till the end of the season to pick it up Igot an awesome deal.

Whodeanie....I love that Nighttrain....Seriously sharp bike. One of these days.....

Anyhow, here's my new scoot. 2007 Shadow Spirit 750. Had it about 2 weeks now.

I wasn't even really in the market for a bike right now....but the boss wanted to learn to ride, so he bought a Shadow 600 and I taught him to ride. Pretty soon, he wanted a riding partner....and riding his kinda resparked the interest....

A guy at work had a grandson who just got out of the Air Force and had bought the Shadow 750 new. He'd had Honda saddlebags, windshield, and back rest installed at the dealer....about $900 worth of accessories. He'd had the bike about 18 months, but was going back to school and couldn't keep it. I got it for what he owed....deal was too good to pass up.

It's cold out, but I've still managed to log 300 miles in two weeks. I can't wait for summer...or anything resembling summer LOL.

Here is the '06 Hayabusa I sold last November. It was my first bike (I know, a busa for a first bike WTF?)

I had it about a year and a half with no problems, including 2 trips to the beach (500 miles round trip) and 3 long mountain rides (400 miles each)

Sold it after the summer last year with 9000 miles when I figured out that I was working a second job just to pay for the bike. $186 payment and $80 ins. per month

This images is larger than 153600 bytes. Click to view.

This was the day I brought it home.

Well this is mine, and certainly not right off the showroom floor.

Hi, I don't want to hi-jack this thread, but since my question is related I am going to ask. I am looking into getting a bike, I don't have any experience, but have had the desire for a long time. I am 30 years old, and aprox. 220 pounds, I have just bought some gear, and enrolled in a new riders class. I like cruiser's, but can't afford one, and don't want such a big engine for my first bike. I have been researching sport bikes, and want something that is beginer friendly with an upright riding position. Also a bike that doesn't have crazy power would be a good idea. I am thinking about an fz6r, or a ninja 250. Both are good beginer bikes from what I have read. Anybody have any thoughts or suggestions.
