Hi Shem, I am not too far from you, In Vallejo. Anything new? Really digging the lines of that car, soooo much better than the beginning of your post.

Yeah kinda sorta takin a break.Moms going downhill and between watching her and the kid 5 days a week now isnt leaving a lotta time for the car. I need a welder to make the vents for the hood sides and finish up the spoiler, my works just not good enuf. Begged one of the guys from the shop(all 3 actually) and one came and will help make the vents and help w the spoiler. he said finish it up and we will make em after. So I wrapped up the doors, hood, and a cupla spots on the trunk

Had a tiny wound on my finger that turned green, a little squeeze and

Thats been there awhile lol

Heres how the spoilers turning out, a little ways into the figuring out what the hell im doing stage

Figured it out, getting help!

So the LM version doesnt have the side vents and the f40 logo on it, but I like em. The hood vents I need to fill the gap, looks chitty in side. Chitty chitty bang bang. For the logo I experimented printing out a keychain I got offa thingiverse till I got the size that I liked. Dug in deep w the flap disc, smoothed it out w the front of the belt sander, Hvac taped that sob in there, poured and hoped for the best.

Tape moved and the sob got covered up, broke it out w the belt sander

Came out pretty good, till I took off too much w the belt sander, and forgot to take pics like a big ol dummy lol. Its coming out pretty good, trying to find the balance between logo depth and not making the wing stand have a weird belly.
Gonna wrap these things up, shoot and clear it for clear coat. Very soon hopefully

Picked up a 91 650sx cheap to flip. Getting back into polishing small turds at home. You can see my efforts at the hood vents in the background on the floor.

damn now I wanna keep it but my lower backs saying hell no

Rosso corsa it is sir! Luv the rotisserie wowsers! Been picking at it lil by lil, got some primer shot. Guess who hates sanding?! Cupla bugs to fix and the subatomic pinholes that need fillin. Found a few cracks, fixed em. Doing the 320grit run now, outta paper. May shoot it this weekend, hafta work saturday. Filled up the upper section of the wingstands w some fb and 1x4, and used a forstener bit to make the holes to attach the spoiler. Wrapped a pencil in some sandpaper to sand the inner holes. Coming out good

Thats pretty sweet andrew, but im too far into this to make those changes now lol! Been poking at it here and there. As usual, found a few cracks and spots to work on. Wet sanded a few times now. Car is crazy smooth. Laid down some paint yesterday, again. As usual, came out good but a few lil subatomic pinholes and a few tiny spots I missed sanding. Paint is laying down crazy smooth, has a matte sheen to it. Almost there. Gonna do more today, hopefully get all the boogers taken care of, finish the red, shoot the black stripe, and clear next weekend.

As usual, picked up lotsa new toys(used cheap junk) 3 mountain bikes and 1 super nice aluminum hybrid, got em all working! Got a razor mx500 I gutted and put in my ryobi 40v battery and a 36v esc. Things crazy fun and has some nuts for a tiny bike. And the thing that takes all my time(aside from watching mom and the kid) My xk x450 I did up in a macross theme, prolly fly this thing 3-4 times a day. Almost exact to a jjrc m02
no joke you gotta get one of these! Im not even into rc stuff but this is bad friggen arse laddies! Easy to fly! Just stay outta airplane mode

That and it looks oddly angled. I read that you changed it to that because it didn’t look right to you. Maybe a far away pic straight on from the side would show its orientation better.

Doesn't look crooked to me. It is higher than the original which sits just above the rear fender line, and probably a little bigger too, but he is replicating a wing that didnt originally have the logo, so its up to him where it goes. I think it looks great!

Andrew good call on the keychain hook lmao. The way the logo sits flows w the wedge top shape of the car. I tried it a buncha ways, and every other way looked like poop. Anything pointing higher went over the roof and looked lame. Had a few people over who dont know the car, and loved it. Said it looks perfect. Theres so many other angles around it. Anywho did a final round o fillin lil smidgens, shota buncha red, and did the black stripe and the window frames. Some primer bleed thru to get a a lil more red and its getting cleared. I think this weekend if the weather holds out.

Looks so damn good w the black stripe!
Made an emergency run to the froo froo store(closest thing to the hood lol) to get some cupcake cups for the youngster, and saw a weird colored package and glanced at it and WTF?!

Is that a good price? What the hell is it?

Shem it’s looking good , is the colour you used the actual Rosso Corsa ? And what year did you use as the colour actually changes over the years.
Just checking as I’m doing mine in the same colour and gives me a preview. The second shot in the drive way the car looks great the body line definitely sets it off.
Keep at it you’ll get it finished.

Bjc-- Im right there with ya, thats some weird chit. Pk thanks for the update, but im no fan of custard either. Gonna hafta pass on that one . A friend of a friend got that in vegas, went to a lot of bachelor parties there. Used to love that "what happens in vegas, stays in vegas" commercial. Poor guy, no one told him herpes comes back with you. Anywho, Dobie thats the ford gt red, the paint shop didnt have the ferarri book, and the black is a toyota! yay!

Said fudge it today and painted the car in the driveway. The usual sand and fill a few booglies, shot some white primer on several spots. Then followed up with a boatload of red, 36oz laid on fat. Painting outside was nice cuz I could see how much paint was going down. Red has a very nice gloss now, much better than before. Shot smore black on the stripe and was going to clear it. The suns already going down its barely 4pm and starting to cool off. Cupla red and black spots to git to, and its getting lotsa clear tomorrow. Looking forward to it being done. Pics tomorrow.

Sourmash Im going sparingly w the polish, learning as I go. Too much rotational speed makes everything go down the drain. Pk- daves the same dummy that couldnt figure out how to change the front brake pads on his escort(ford lol), and then thought it was a good idea to beat the hell outta every panel on his car w the jack handle. Coulda just called for help. Now hes set for life.

Patched n painted a cupla things and shot the clear. Shot it fat and in the garage where I cant see chit. Got 4-5 drips dag-nabit! Weird, the paint and primer laid down flat and smooth as butter. The clear just pulled dust outta the air and shot it onto the flat surfaces. Or it settled there after. Gotta get super close and in the sheen to see it. Car looks stupid silly good holy friggin chit meng! So crazy glossy, I cant put into words. Love the color now. Hella people came by to check it out today and hung around jaws on the ground. Pics dont look so good but the color looks like you could dive into it. Just wow. I do need a real booth to shoot it in but wow this came out good.

not many waves, things pretty damn flat everywhere

Whats next? I dunno but ill figure something out soon

Looking good, if ya ever redo the paint again, just paint the back of the divide line black, not all 3 sides of the divide line area.

Holy stromboli its been 7 months since I posted last lol. After I did the clear, I sanded it smooth then didnt do a thing for ages it seems. Touched up some spots yesterday, car has accumulated many a scratch from stuff falling on it, me climbing around. Was hoping it would be stronger but, anywho, gonna wrap it up. Hopefully this weekend im going to spend a full day shooting clear on this. I want a good 1/4" of armor cough cough I mean gloss. Fully moved out of sj now, and I got stuff piled on stuff thats hiding under stuff. So I need to finish the car because the parts are taking up needed real estate in the garage. Still starts and drives, leaky front tire. pics soon

Im workin on it steve jeeez! lol Got 20 acres outside of reno w a view of the lake.

Gotta wrap up the car a bit before I start building. Chevy got heisted, and always missed my 89 toyo w the poverty package, so I got the one in the pic. Got it modded and running better than its ever been. Make it back from my property on one tank of gas! 300+ miles to a 12 gallon tank. Fixing it up ignited the car bug and got me going on the fubabbi again.

Got the right air bags finally. Aerosport bags from universal air. $450 for 2 bags + brackets, these drop over the factory strut so u dont have to buy some janky overpriced universal strut at $1200 a pair

The sleeves didnt work out, but got me by

Bolted the bag to the strut after a wee bit o drillin n notchin

Quick hd run for some fittings and they work great at less psi

Hadta cut the wheelwells and notch the trunk area a bit to clear the new drop. Crazy 1" off the ground
buncha random pics

Onto paint- bugged my neighbor a few times for the compressor, couldnt wait lol. Today was the day, wife and kid are away, just me and mom. Dug out all the fittings and hoses and 2 lil 6 gal pancake compressors. Hosed em together and the 60 gal tank on the dead compressor, w a water separator on the outlet line. Hokeyasfuk but it works.

Put on a rockin 80's mix and off I went from 7:30am. Got the garage set up, car moved. Touched up a buncha red, several times. did the line the right way and what did I get? Phuc doo...

Woulda been a nightmare so...

Then onto as much clear as I could shoot, got about 3 coats on

Looks so wet! Should have it thick enuf where I can buff it out smooth. Should be able to get my welding buddy to start soon on the wing and vents.

Thanks for the kudos fellas, its been a friggin journey for sure! Yeah quad rounds up front. When I get there, may be soon- lights are coming up. Was reorganizing some stuff in the way back and found some of the grille material, got to it

Installed the door handles- Vacuumed the inside and cleaned it up good, looks like a car. Painted the trim

Trimmed the wheelwells a bit more, see the tire rub

Been amassing the ryobi 40v tools, used the blower to clear out the 3 feet of dust in the front compartment. Got rid of leftover garbage and junk. Started attacking the airbag system leaks w soapy water, found a ton at the combo manifold. Found some bad grounds on it too, thing works like a champ now. Was looking at different models to swap it out with. Welding buddys coming this weekend for a party and plan the work on his car. He needs electrical work at his place so he can do jobs at home for my buddy with the shop. All trades work for work.

Went at it again today. Started off hunting air suspension leaks, found a few more that crept up since last time. Did some trimming on the upper control arms and re routing the front lines better. Broke a hole in an airbrake fitting, its brass so I soldered it up real quick. Suspension held air the whole day, still holding right now. Theres a wee bit o loss, 20 lbs over 10 hours. Enough to get me thru the day.

Then I went at the lights, rear first. Took my time and depinned the connecters. These old ferrari are well worn, sanded all the contacts down, and fixed a few wire ends. Got everything working but brake lights in the rear(and reverse but who cares). Cant find the harness for the headlight switch anywheres but did install the headlights. Found the wire for the side marker lights, both fronts power on but dont flash. Ill dig into that later. Im outta wire currently. Bummer. Made a hd run for the rear vent screws too. Yay. Looks better. Got em spaced evenly. Mostly.

Put the roof on some blocks and screwed down the quarter panels and quarter windows. Had to hog out the inside corner to get the roof sitting better around the ps window

I saw a lumber rack the other day

Went for a bike ride this mornin, saw this sitting at the curb w the charger inside and wires hanging out. Score!

Just needed a battery! Things hella fast! For a kids car, almost gets the wind moving your hair. I can ride in it lol! Now my kids girlfriends have something girly to drive. Subs work too lol

Peeled the cover off the headlight lenses, just the top. Looks much better, I didnt mind the white, it made the shape stand out

Then I painted the edges black, about .75. I really like the 1994 f40lm w the blacked out lenses. Need to paint the back window too(need to get a new back window lol), but pretty much good to go minus the rear wing.

Wanting my kid to take advantage of the yuuge backyard we have, I ordered a brand name playset from walmart. Walmart sells them cheaper than the mfg! lol Showed up box after box week after week. Found instructions online and assembled the beam, legs and swingset, and had it hanging on the rear shed so my kid could use it. # weeks later still no more boxes. Went to home depot and made my own. Good thing because I had my important tools there, my truck was stolen that night. Had it done in one day, already ordered the swings and seesaw from ebay. 2 days later im in the lil toyota going to do a dump run and I see a huge double slide. Went and loaded the truck at the job, went back and threw the slide on top. Didnt have any straps or anything but it was heavy and had a lot of water in it. Bigger than the bed on the toyota lol, I drove home slow

Installed the headlight covers today and wow what a change for the front end. Pix dont do it justice looks so good in person its crazy. Its coming together nicely. Dug that cheapo ebay lip spoiler out, tried it on the car again, still didnt like it. When I put the two together I kinda like it. Looks wonky like the car.

Welding buddy came over and we got a game plan for the wing. Im going to do it myself at the shop lol

Lol its a freaking warzone outside! Nah just an overabundance of fireworks as usual. They get trucked in from outta state. They have a "special task force" this year to hand out $500 dollar tickets to anyone with any kind of firework. Everyone has fireworks going off. Big giant ones, tons of em. Happy independence day folks!

I appreciate the support buddy, every comment helps! Played around w the front spoiler a bit trying different things in different places. Wound up just using the center vent from the old one and the new plastic one but I cut the lower lip in half and will add another piece underneath so it kinda looks like it has vents. Then to fab up a quick install/release system, hood will never open with it on.

Made a center console test outta a laminate flooring lol, and wrapped it w some leftover pleather

For you andreww and dobie1

Some of the fireworks from the udder day

Camera wants to sit there and adjust so it was hard to get pics

Got a boatload of tinsel coming for the car this and next week! Not really just a few things- front tow hook, rear tow hook, shift knob, linear actuators for the boot, pads for me new buffer, and the support rods for the front air splitter. Gonna pass on the muttonchops, they look funny on the front of any car.

Over a year ago I picked up a polishing kit from hd that user randye recommended to someone else in some random ot thread. Could never get the compound to get onto the buff. Tried again one evening in the garage using tons of pressure and it kinda worked. I think the bars are super dry even though theyre shrink wrapped. They leave a ton of residue thats hard to remove, but it soak the buff w a lil goof off solvent and it buffs way better and cleans the dried compound off. The white made a yuuge diff right away, so the other day I went to town, what a difference

Crazy shine! I luv it!

Painted the black surround on the back winduh, and got mosta the bolts in

Tinseltown deliveries showed up, some of em. Whats behind door #1 Johnny?

A drill hanging out the back of your car!
Just kidding a faux hook!

Door #2?
Linear actuators! yay!

With 95% synchronization! Outstanding! My days of liftin that heavy sumbiotch are numbered!

Pads for the new buffer showed up today!

Heres the playhouse I made

What Ive been working on-
That razor bike I got for $30

Now has an 1800 watt brushless motor, esc, throttle, and a 48v 20ah lithium battery. Roasts the back tire at any speed, awesome for drifts, 1 hr ride time

The razor scooter I got for free

Put in the 500 watt motor from the bike and a 36v 10ah lithium battery. Geared it up for higher top speed, gets sideways on wet pavement

Bayou got a new slug and jug, rings gaskets

Always busy

Thanks Bob! Its definitely getting close. Glad to see you are working on your ride as well, that things gonna be schweet!

Scooper duper! Didnt know what I liked so I just started building it, little hyah, little nyah

Had a wee bit o cloth and mat, got laid

Finally got on that engine bay support

Its a piece of moms bed lol Ikea label still on it

Hit hd for some mat and cloth, burned thru all the cloth and mostaduh mat. Part of the spoiler started to pull, so I pulled it, and its all fb except for the outer edge of the intake vent thats the chunk o aluminium

Found a huge wop in the front lip, woulda never seent it without the spoiler

Muttonchops?! Nay I say

They just look funny to me

So I didnt really like the rudder on the ends of the spoiler, but I made molds of them to place them at the rear of the front edge side area space.

Then filled in the center section w several layers

Used foil tape to hold edges and corners

Been ages since I used the booger and snot cans, took a bit to find em. Trusty old belt sander showed up outta nowhere

Not sold on the lower wood section yet, will need more fiddlin to decide

Started bending a frame for the ds door vent to show the welding guy when we pow wow at tomorrows parlay
