I found took the 3d file of the win stands and modified it. Shrunk it down about 18 mm, and printed new stands with some carbon fiber reinforced filament. Much better

. After the acquisition of my Formula in 2013, my '84 was "retired" and has been sitting under a tarp in my backyard for a dozen years. I wanted to drive it to my new place 50 miles east of here, and I was a little concerned with what I might need to do to make the car roadworthy again.
I borrowed the battery and a set of tires/wheels from my Formula, and with just the replacement of one sticking front brake caliper, I was able to make the trip with no issues whatsoever. Not only that, but I had forgotten how great the tweaked suspension feels on my '84. Even the lil' duke (with a 5-spd) felt good. Damn, I was impressed!
A photo of my '84 from years ago at autocross...

It’s starting to look like a car again. Carpet in. Seat in. Engine put together - still needs tuning. Way too much fuel. Timing needs dialed in. I’m still learning how to use the Aces software.
Once the interior is zipped up I’ll install some glass.
Today I was tired of the stick holding the trunk 🤨 !! Problem solved .on my 84 .
Who's still selling these ? At some point while mine was off the road, the torsion spring broke, so I need to go to the 2-strut setup. I've got 1 gas strut on there already that I got from Rodney way back, but it doesn't look like he's still restocking those.

Made a beefier (and better looking) dogbone mount for the 3400
If you are good with a welder. Part 3400/ part 4 cylinder bracket, part 6 cylinder braket. You can use the stock V6 dogbone. If it's only mounted to the 1 cylinder head and your motor moves during excelration, you will stip out those botls in the side of the head, trust me I know from experience. I only use 2 of the three bolts on the far cylinder head. I haven't had any issue with this set up in 15 years.
I Got Rodney's 'Electric Window Helpers' {Heavy Relays} Installed which are now "Out of Stock / All sold"
quote
Rodney Dickman: Field tests have shown that even those that have installed new electric window switches still show a significant increase in electric window speed after these units have been installed.
It is true, without changing the system except adding the relays; the windows are faster now than before...

Finally got to the point that I'm doing little things and driving instead of big huge things and not driving. Using this as a starting point I popped some 6.5s in the dash, under the deck itself, using a couple 3d printed brackets I whipped up, a couple short bolts and nuts, and some cardboard shims. I didn't think to get pictures, but it turned out "okay." I also took the clips off the 4x10s and soldered them to the new speaker terminals so I didn't have to do any wiring inside the car. I'm using the AM/FM/cass out of a 1986, but I think I'm just gonna get something more modern in the near future.
Went and ran some errands and then of course I get home to find the passenger side coolant tube has started a small leak. Less than ideal.
Four coats of gloss black / Three coats of clear coat Will end up with ceramic wax tomorrow after it stops raining.
Do NOT wax a new paint job!
The paint needs to cure before sealing it; the curing time can vary based on several factors, including the type of paint, environmental conditions, and the thickness of the paint.
Generally, it is recommended to wait 30 {hot/summer} to 90 {colder/winter} days before waxing the paint; this waiting period allows the paint to fully cure and harden.
I went the powder coating route...

i installed a 1986 gt 7/8 inch front antisway bar on the back of my 87 base coupe.i used this webpage as a how to.https://fierozone.tripod.com/weekend/swaybar/index.html . the swaybar links he recomended at ten dollars are now 27 dollars so i reused all the old hardware.i did cut it down to length and buy new 5/16 grade 8 long bolts.the 'rubber'used parts appeared to have already been changed to poly.i like that it all looks 'factory'.

Started out for a car show in Pullman this morning only to turn around 20 minutes later, when the heater core I suspected was going finally started dripping into the cabin. Least I caught it early -- had one ready to swap out, all good tonight.

Hey, do you have a full-on picture of your car? It appears to have the old-school Gulf Porsche "livery" (I guess is what they call it).
