I gotta ask.... how the hell do you tuck all the wiring to make it look like that? I've always been a function over form kinda guy but I can't deny I'm jealous of how good that looks. My 3800 engine bay is a nightmare.
I depin the ecm connectors and break down the harness to the individual connectors, even when it is a brand new harness.
Then install 1 connector at a time and route it where I want it. I try to use other items to block view of the harness as much as possible. Heat shrink minimizes the bulkiness of the harness. Running the black harness over black engine parts helps as well.
Moving wiring intensive parts off the top of the engine helps as well. Where the coils are mounted, 32 wires to them are now hidden by the body of the coils and off the valve covers. The throttlebody is installed upside down to move the 6 wire connector to the front side where it will be hidden by the throttlebody.
Lots and lots of preplanning and work, but the end result is night/day.

Getting ready for car season and I can't wait. Finished off the tire change today with 225/45 x 17 rear and 205/45 x17 front. Old tires looked new, probably have 7500 miles on them, but after 12 years it was time to change them. American made Goodyear tires all around. Also bled the brakes, did an oil and filter change and re-torqued all the wheel bolts to 100psi.

Got asked by some folks asked if they could check out my Fiero as i was dropping it off to the glass guy. Kinda cool considering the only skin on the car was the hood. Photos to come soon...
New rear wheel bearings going on my 85 GT. I learned a new “trick” (new to me anyways) on removing the hub / cv axle nut. You simply remove the center cap from your wheels, (I have aftermarket 17X7’s) put the wheels back on, lower the car on the ground and loosen / break free the axle nut, jack the car back up, loosen lug nuts, remove the wheels and loosen axle nut the rest of the way. 😊

Not today, been busy recently, but in the past week I:
- Replaced the fuel pump after sitting for a year. Nice to drive again. - I bought a double din radio skeleton, wired up my radio, just waiting on some parts to arrive to start buttoning everything down. - Sunroof was leaking after I washed the car so I checked the drain holes on the sunroof, cleaned them out and tested them. They work. I will have to wash the car again to see if it's better now. The holes appeared to be blocked out completely.

I suspect that plugged up (with crap) sunroof drain holes are what have caused the vast majority of sunroof leaks reported here over the years.
i replaced those tiny bulbs at the shifter and ashtray and washed the console.i had it out after i replaced the ecm.i was waiting to see if more codes popped up.
Just finished up my automatic headlights, double din radio install, and back up camera. Up next I need to reglue the deforming trim pieces and put the shift surround and armrest back in.
When the sensor is dark, the lights go up.
Sensor.

i spent the last few days converting my passinger door to power windows.its summer so i need control of the window from the drivers seat.i also replaced the window strips which was a pain in the butt.STUPID DESIGN.it was stupid to make a door glass that you can't remove from the door with a wrench.i had to unbolt all the tracks and riser mechanism to get the glass free to wiggle it to the max to get to the weatherstrip screws.gm could have put notches in the glass BUT NO.i used the wiring harness and power regulator from a junk car.it bolted right in.i used 12 guage irrigation wire to run to the switch.i know that sounds strange but its rated at 20 amps and is designed to be buried so its tough.i replaced the bad rollers and coated the tracks with lithium grease.i temporarily ran the wire to a the fiero store switch temporarily hooked to the cigarette lighter.im finished with the door.i used the door panel that came with the power mechanisms.the door panel doesn't look bad for being 40 years old.it works pretty well.pretty quick.i did swap out the motor for a motor from my junk reatta which i had replaced from rockauto a few years ago.

today i pulled my driver door inner panel off.i wd40d the piss out of the door latch trying to get the lock mechanism working.the inner slider now works but it seems the key doesn't fit the door lock.it fits the other door and engine cover.so i thought i'll just swap them door for door.then i found out id have to remove both outer door panels.i may try to remove the drivers side and get it rekeyed.
This tale started many, many moons ago when my left taillight lens was damaged with a pointed object which ‘punctured’ the top-right corner of the reverse lamp area....
A couple of years ago, I was super lucky to stumble on of a brand-new genuine General Motors lenses, so I put the taillight on my Fiero refurbish list.
Finally last summer, I removed the taillight assemblies from the GT to replace the lenses; however, I found the OEM ‘chrome’ plating on the reflectors are in terrible condition with black areas…
So, I restored the reflectors with polished aluminum tape and an UV stable clear coating...
i replaced the window wipes on the drivers door today.they had been replaced before by a previous owner.they left out the two hard screws.i swapped out the manual assembly with a fiero power assembly.i used motors from a dead reatta i have.everything works with my temporary wiring.i will correctly wire it tomorrow.
i added a push button engine cover release today.i had to install the correct cable into the cover.i tied a string to the old cable at the latch.i pulled out the old cable.i used the string to pull in the new[to me] cable.i plugged in the new cable.i had previously installed a very old looking dash switch.i installed the horn relay from my parts car.i installed the solinold to the latch.it works perfectly.i may wire in a second switch later to make it more secure.thanks to gm for including the wiring.they didn't do that for the door components.
i swapped out the NGK 55 Iridium plugs for Autolite 104 (copper) plugs on my 3800SC. She runs a LOT better.

i cleaned the MAF sensor, the PCV valve and the EGR valve to see if that fixes the code P0405. In any case she runs better and hasn't thrown a code yet.
