Went and had a good time at autocross! Somehow got a stuck injector and hydrolocked my 3800 on gas though.... that kinda put a damper on the fun.

I gotta ask.... how the hell do you tuck all the wiring to make it look like that? I've always been a function over form kinda guy but I can't deny I'm jealous of how good that looks. My 3800 engine bay is a nightmare.

Time, planning and heat shrink for the harness.

I depin the ecm connectors and break down the harness to the individual connectors, even when it is a brand new harness.

Then install 1 connector at a time and route it where I want it. I try to use other items to block view of the harness as much as possible. Heat shrink minimizes the bulkiness of the harness. Running the black harness over black engine parts helps as well.

Moving wiring intensive parts off the top of the engine helps as well. Where the coils are mounted, 32 wires to them are now hidden by the body of the coils and off the valve covers. The throttlebody is installed upside down to move the 6 wire connector to the front side where it will be hidden by the throttlebody.

Lots and lots of preplanning and work, but the end result is night/day.

Getting ready for car season and I can't wait. Finished off the tire change today with 225/45 x 17 rear and 205/45 x17 front. Old tires looked new, probably have 7500 miles on them, but after 12 years it was time to change them. American made Goodyear tires all around. Also bled the brakes, did an oil and filter change and re-torqued all the wheel bolts to 100psi.

Got asked by some folks asked if they could check out my Fiero as i was dropping it off to the glass guy. Kinda cool considering the only skin on the car was the hood. Photos to come soon...

New rear wheel bearings going on my 85 GT.
I learned a new “trick” (new to me anyways) on removing the hub / cv axle nut. You simply remove the center cap from your wheels, (I have aftermarket 17X7’s) put the wheels back on, lower the car on the ground and loosen / break free the axle nut, jack the car back up, loosen lug nuts, remove the wheels and loosen axle nut the rest of the way. 😊

Not today, been busy recently, but in the past week I:

- Replaced the fuel pump after sitting for a year. Nice to drive again.
- I bought a double din radio skeleton, wired up my radio, just waiting on some parts to arrive to start buttoning everything down.
- Sunroof was leaking after I washed the car so I checked the drain holes on the sunroof, cleaned them out and tested them. They work. I will have to wash the car again to see if it's better now. The holes appeared to be blocked out completely.

I suspect that plugged up (with crap) sunroof drain holes are what have caused the vast majority of sunroof leaks reported here over the years.

Hardware swapped a passenger seat bottom to replace my torn driver side, then ran the upholstery extractor over the entire thing and reinstalled.

Just finished up my automatic headlights, double din radio install, and back up camera. Up next I need to reglue the deforming trim pieces and put the shift surround and armrest back in.

When the sensor is dark, the lights go up.
