Well, that we do agree on. We don't need to be accepting just anyone now. That may have been the case long ago while trying to grow this country, but that time has come and gone. ( of course the type of people we were getting was far different back then too. They wanted to make something of their new homey and themselves while they assimilated into the rest of the population now they just want a handout while they stand out )

did your abulow kill people in Argentina ?

Hahah... no Ray, I always called my grandmother "Grandma", not "abuela" (or more specifcially in Argentine dialect, "Abuelita" which means... little grandma).

Most definitely, my grandmother was not a Peronista, and her family was very much against Eva and Juan Perone' during the Communist era. Maybe one day we'll have some beers and cigars at the Colony in SoBe (I'll buy), and I'll give you a little history about them.

Yeah, he's /partially/ right about Miami... it's like #7 or something in the list of top 10 major cities, meaning that it has something like 1/4th of it's population below the poverty line. But Miami doesn't get poor Mexican immigrants... it just doesn't... they come in from Texas, New Mexico, etc. South Florida (Miami), is harder for people to sneak into since it's a peninsula. Never the less, there is a reason why it has so many homeless people, and that's because it's always warm. The poor come to Miami because they know that it will always have decent temperatures, and they know they will never freeze or die in the winter. They also come down there because they know that Miami is also in the top 5 wealthiest cities in the Nation as well. I think it's like #2 or 3. It has like the second or third most millionaires in the entire country.

We don't have very many Mexican "illegals" in South Florida, they're actually somewhat rare as the Cubans kind of look down on them as inferior to them, just as natural born blacks look down on Haitians as a lesser group.

Anyway, as I THINK you were eluding to when you mentioned them seperately, Cubans become citizens immediately. The Haitians however, are still considered illegal.

You're not totally right about Miami though. Miami originally was created as the tourist hub of America because of it's nice beaches and warm water (alternately, the California coast water is cold). While tourism still makes up at least half of South Florida's economy, the other half comes from trade. Not specifcially the Port of Miami, but because of Miami International Airport. MIA is one of the largest airports in the world, and is like the second largest hub in the United States. There are something like 1,300 international trade businesses that are all headquartered out of Miami. Of course... Fort Lauderdale is kind of "part" of Miami... just like how Baltimore and Washington D.C. are basically connected, or Newark and Manhattan are also connected.

Anyway, Miami's major "product" is trade, and tourism.

Aside from that though, Miami is also quickly becoming one of the major medical headquarters in the US. Bethesda Maryland used to be the medical capital of the United States, but I'm willing to bet that Miami will soon take that over. It's not simply because of Miami / Jackson University Hospital (because I am SOOO not a Canes fan), but because of all the other major medical businesses that are headquartered in Florida.

Miami has a lot going for it... and even though you don't like Hispanics (I'm only half Hispanic, so you only have to hate half of me), they are bringing in billions of dollars every year. You have a massive influx of wealthy families from Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil, and several other countries that are looking for a safe haven from Communism / excessive Socialism. Not so much for the Brazillians, but they have so much money now that they're moving in and buying everything up... which is much better because only a decade ago, it was Muslims from Abu Dhabi and Bahrain.

DA BEACH IS NOT THE CITY OF MIAMI
CITY OF MIAMI HAS THE POOR PEOPLE
NOT JUST HAITIAN OR CUBANS
EVERY CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICAN COUNTRY HAS TONS OF ILLEGALS HERE
BUT DAMM FEW AMERICAN WHITES THEY LEFT
AND NO SHORTAGE OF MEXICANS HERE BUT MOSTLY SOUTH DADE-HOMESTEAD AREA

THE RICH OF SA AND CA ALL CLUSTER OUTSIDE THE CITY OF MIAMI
OR IN WALLED GATED CONDO'S OR IN THE UPSCALE SUBURBS FAR FROM THE MIAMI INNER CITY

BTW CUBAN REFUGEES SHOULD LOOK UP AT EVERYONE
AND DOWN AT THEMSELVES'
THEY ARE MOSTLY EXTREMELY ARROGANT RIGHTWINGERS AND RACISTS TO THE MAX
BUT THEY THINK THEY ARE BETTER THEN WHITE AMERICANS TOO

French courts have thrown this out as both "unfair and unconstitutional"

http://world.time.com/2012/...as-unconstitutional/

quote
Long-standing French clichés took a blow Dec. 29 from an unexpected decision by France’s constitutional watchdog. Not only did the Conseil Constitutionnel strike down the kind of new tax hikes that have made France infamous abroad. In doing so, the Conseil prohibited a pending 75% income tax rise on France’s wealthiest people–another French fiscal move that has generated much negative attention around the world.

More uncharacteristic still, while the 75% boost was designed to finally make France’s under-paying wealthy class start contributing its full share to public finances, the Conseil rejected the measure in defense of French revolutionary ideals of égalité before the law. As a result, Socialist President François Hollande must now scramble to revise his soak-the-rich legislation—a largely symbolic initiative whose constitutional rejection represents a significant political embarrassment.

The Conseil invalidated the 75% tax hike on people whose income exceed $1.28 million per year on the grounds it failed to respect constitutional promises of “equality before public burdens.” It also struck down several other elements in the same budget law it was part of, including creation of tougher rules and calculations on how accumulated wealth, capital gains, and some stock options are taxed. Opposition conservatives who filed the successful objection to the Conseil Dec. 20–the same day the law was passed– rejoiced at Saturday’s decision.

“equality before public burdens.” Oh I like that, new respect for the French here. Imagine if we had that in our constitution.
