Dude, if the thread's title is Lamborghini/Ferrrari replica followed by, LOL, WFT, or 2.8 in the back- that's a good indication the outcome isn't going to be good.
As the singular meatbag who originally posted this thread, my intent was to cite ONLY that the seller of this nice looking kit is crazy if he thinks he's pulling 270hp out of a rebuilt 2.8.
I then added on that I have seen in the 2.8 performance guide, it says i could be looking at 230 max with a properly built, naturally aspirated 2.8.
The link to the kit I originally posted looks nice, not like one here in this link that I was supposed to replace/rebuild the engine on. http://fortmyers.craigslist.../cto/3567154087.html I have seen some nice kits, and the nicest ones are the mera (and reproduction 308), and countach (25th aniversiarry version) the mera is very nice, and I can say I was mistaken in high school for driving an "old junky" ferrari when it was just my '87 GT. beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and you will pay like GM did when they kitted out the Fiero to look like a 308 when it appeared to look identical. If you do a kit up right and mass produce it. you may see a lawsuit for copyrights.

Thanks for your opinion.... But the car is stock, that's what a Pantera 200 looked like from the factory.

Hi Madcurl...It's probably pointless to post this, but what the heck...
Let me start off by saying I like most everything you've done with your collection, but it may not be everyone's preference.
You've stated your stance on "bad" replica's and your preference for tweaking the Fiero and leaving it a "Fiero". You also use the images of "bad" replicas as if they are somehow demeaning to all Fieros and their owners.
What I don't see is you making the same argument with "badly modified" Fieros. There are plenty of those on the web, too. This makes you look a bit biased and your persistence of posting in kit and replica threads makes you seem like a douche.
Why not let each live and let live and acknowledge it's not your cup of tea and let it go.
my 2 cents...

The egg. Laid by the mating of two birds (or a bird and a lizard; still yet to be determined what exactly it was) whom were not chickens.
But the fact that you paid Archie to make something, and he made a kit of it, and then you put the kit on another car and "tweaked" it, doesn't make it not a kit. Proto-kit is still a kit. Fiberglass doesn't organically grow different vents or limbs to suit its needs, while baking up, like a biological entity does.

No, sorry. I'm not chopping my car to appease and "follow" you. What you're doing is trashing a thread.
Are you done being a tool now, or you gonna hate some more, hater?
You don't like replica kits on Fieros. That's fine. Don't buy one. But don't go around pissing on all the people who do.

DC10, your kit looks pretty nice to me. As far as real Panteras, the only ones I really like a lot are early 70s original ones...without all the stuck on wings and crap. A friend had a dark blue 72 and had an all alumuminum engine and the entire engine/transaxle was polished to look like chrome. It was gorgeous. I like them almost as much as a GT40. Other gorgeous cars of similar design was the BMW M1, and Lambo Jalpa. Even the Lotus Esprit has a lot of the same styling.

Well, we're not talking about the Special Olympics were everybody is a winner, given a trophy, and a pat on the back-that I understand, but this is about grown men riding around in bad replicas and making every excuse for it.
Really?
I'm going to sound off, then sign off.
Grown men can do whatever they want with their time and money and I would much rather spend my money on, or be seen in, an exclusive looking Fiero kitcar or replica, than almost any ordinary car.
Yea, give me an Italian or domestic looking exotic, any day, over even your chop-topped Fiero.
The silver car you have is nice, mainly because it still looks like a Fiero, but some parts of it, and other cars you have, make me laugh and shudder. With the goofy looking hoods, headlights, oversized wheels and knight rider dash and interiors, they seem juvenile and make you look like the wannabe superhero, Curly....lol....How ironic, but that is your taste, or lack of, so I didn't really care to voice my opinion - until now.
Besides, chop top Fieros, different looking as they may be, don't do it for me, because I'm a tall man and those cars work for shorter guys, but to each their own - right?
Right!
And that is the point everyone here seems to grasp - except you, Curly. So for peace sake man, give it a rest -- Seriously!
@ Kurl: ( I agree ...beauty is in the eye of the beholder) Some men marry ugly women, some men make ugly cars, and some men just point fingers. How's that hurt you?
Seems, Cool school, got bent to Kool School and that was a natural evolution, and it was good.. But somewhere it crossed the line, started walk'in the curb and became Fool School when it (ya'll) made it's (your) insecurities transparent to the world.
Tony, I LOVE THIS QUOTE!!! Truth was never so obvious. LOL

The hypocracy, it burns!
I have never seen someone work so hard, to gain so little. Posting up a tousand pics of ANYTHING gets annoying. Can you not see that? Are you that obtuse? You are like a Chihuahua trying to bang a Doberman. It is uncomfortable, and painful to watch.
But this is just the most Hilarious Quote, The highlighted part, I have found on this forum... LOL Yea I have a Chihuahua; they try harder!
Thanks Tony I needed a laugh after the sad pizn contest. ~Zep

At least with a kit, you can modify it without worrying if you've messed up a 200,000 car. beside some kits are very tasteful of the essence the original inspires.

Dude, would you say this picture is a form of flattery or cute? What you call "flattery" is what Lamborghini, Ferrari, Carol Shelby, and even Bentley call copy right infringment and there's nothing "cute" about lawyers dropping a letter at your business.
Disclosure: the 4 wheeler Lambo was from another thread posted by someone else here. DL10 will be here shortly to continue his manifesto.

Nah, nah, nah, don't try to clean it up. Dude, you got "punked." He didn't know that the real car was actually what your car was copied from. I was LOL when I got home today and read this thread. Dude, you were trying to be a tough, but got ownd. How did that go again.

It says you're an idiot? His car is a replica of a different car than what he said looked like poo.
Also, your car looks like poo.

If he wants to act like Shaun did .. I will treat him like Shaun.
Actually, the facts demomstrates that person is (you) Dave. You, ferrobi, and Bloozsberry who are persons following me around in various threads (Choptop Chronicles/Madcurl's Arch Rival/End of Kit Kar/and all threads related to replica) posting their "Shauna-like" comments.

Your attitude has caused me to dislike you very much, I came into this thread with the intention of putting it in the trash can or getting banned trying. I got most of my red when I decided to get one of the Archie Bash threads closed....I got the thread closed. BUT I'm tired of feeling your negativity so instead I'm going to offer you Good luck in your pursuit of something that will make you happy, Someday you may realize possessions won't fill that hole.

As you can see, some "Kit Kar" owners can don on a facade of pretending to be "all honky dory" but in the end they will use every excuse known to mankind to hate you or most importantly who you associate with. It doesn't matter if you "don't" have a V8Archie engine in the back. They will make up an excuse to find to fit their motives. The excuses you'll hear are:
1. it’s a V8Archie kit (mainly used by "Pennock's Sucks Forum) 2. it’s a bondo queen. 3. it’s a trailer queen, 4. You didn't build it, and last but not least is (mainly used by some PFF members) 5. Trying to figure out "how much you spent on your Fiero." (Mainly used by (some) PFF members) 6. (I get back to that later).
The two examples I like the best (that they're using now) are 4 & 5. You know, "turning a wrench" as if you have to earn some type of Electoral College vote. The last of the five is a carry-over from #4-price. Albeit in my case it's usually the wheels and body modifications cost that concerns them.
Number #6 is the finale. The "finale" is use when all else fails. This involves a ploy to get a person to "latch out" (aka Mastertunerakimoto, exotic Rida, Ms. Mistress just to name of few) at those resulting in either; a. Thread closure. b. Red bar. c. Banning and/or, d. leaving.
As you can see, #6 ploy is latest tool used as of yet. They "might" pretend to extend the "Olive branch" but they might use it as a ploy to get you to send a "PM" and then use it to exploit you. Others will use the "red bar" to regain a greener bar, but in the end-WATCH YOUR BACK!
Just like Bloozsberry DL10 too sent me a PM but DL10's PM is a manifesto cry for help. The best I can tell you Dave is to seek professional help, sell your "Poo" replica, move to FL/AZ and live the rest of your life driving a Crown Vic wearing white bed sheets.
I personally feel there is nothing wrong with the car, well except for the lame badging of the OEM motor.
The car is what it is - and that being it is a kitcar. Sure if I got my grubby hands on it I would make some changes for my personal tastes.
As for the ad, really, some people have got nothing better to do than pick apart his ad. FYI he is really doing nothing more than what most of the population does and that is make their item attractive (ie. embellish the truth somewhat). After all look at all the 'free press' he is getting here on this forum about the car - all 4 pages worth.
If you are so offended by the claims in the ad, call up the owner and take it up with him - arguing about here (where he may not even see your concerns) is really counter productive.

you can do that with a kit... that looks pretty freakin sweet, lol. ive talked to dan wilkinson who made the lizardo kit (gallardo-ish) his words were something akin to "as long as its not exactly the same, you should be fine" in the ways of making a kit.

We can take it to PM. Or better yet face to face, hope you make it to the 30th
I'm sorry, but with individuals like you I'd rather pass on the 30th. I thought it was bad enough when you tried to "punk" at the choptop reunion insisting that I buy the GBCT, but once I asked your asking price (which was 4k or ) you turned around and laugh at me. Then at the 25th you continued your taunting when I was viewing your car. That continued throughout various threads and now you send me PMs.

I tried to keep my personal feeling off the forum by sending them to you in PM.. You post that PM as a quote. I stand by my words, now the forum knows how I feel and you once again show your true colors.

Not sure how this ratings system will start affecting memebers here, but I for one do not wish to see madcurl actually leave. There are a lot of other students in the sandbox to play with. Although, I personally wish that it would tone down just a wee little bit. But that is an opinion, and he can tell me to get bent. Also an opinion.
