Today i stripped a cradle to get it ready for powder coating. I also polished the manifolds a little more.
Polished vs non polished exhaust manifolds.

Cradle before stripping. I wire wheeled the middle just to show the dirt that was stuck to the cradle

During stripping. Air craft stripper is the best! The outer rails are done. Just have the inners left to do. The flash made it look like crap but it actually looks like its been polished.

The 110 mile engine. Just is covered in dust form sitting

That cradle looks great so far, and it looks like aircraft stripper is the only way to go. Are you going to paint or powdercoat it? Hungry for more pics!

Take a drill and drill through the rubber a few times, it should come out with a little prying and work. Or keep burning them.

The plan of attack for tomorrow. Get the old bushings out of the cradle, sand blast control arms, take trans off new engine, put new engine on stand and then remove the wire harness and further inspect the new engine. Pics to come in the am.

Try heating the sleeve of the bushing as opposed to the actual bushing, use some high heat (higher the better) and you just gotta be patient with them. Eventually they will start rapidly expanding and hopefully pop right out.

Anyone care to tell me about stainless steel lines? I want to do my rubber trans lines, fuel lines and a couple other lines. Will this work? Anyone know where to get it for cheaper? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-230610/

I split the trans from the engine about 20 minutes ago. Excuse the mess in the garage.

.
This is what i found. SUPER CLEAN!!!!!!! So far the story on the engine adds up 100% not a trace of clutch dust.

.
These marking mean anything to anyone?

.
Clutch and Pressure plate.

Those have got to be the most ghetto pliers I have ever seen. Did you get them off of the Titanic?

By the way, let me know if you need a hand some time with this project.

Do some reading. Its not a direct bolt it. Not too tough but takes a little work.

I wouldn't cut the springs you can get 1.5 inch drop springs from westcoast fiero and you can get springs for you coil overs cheap 90 bucks depending on the engine swap 300 lb springs work well stiff but not a tank.
