Just a quick hi and update -

I have had a change in jobs and have been out of town and out of time to work on any of my projects. I have a few ideas in the works but all I can do right now is sketch it up till I get back home. Job has put me on the road over the last few months so it's hard to get anything done on a car thats hunderds of miles away. I do have a "Get some work done free" card from a forum member that lives close to me, cough cough - you know who you are ...but haven't had the time to engage his talents yet. I'm planning to retrofit some Porsche 914 targa hardware that I aquired from a friend of mine to secure the taraga top on the Rat. Should look a little more finished then the old pin locks that Bill installed in it when the job was done. Speaking of which - B&B seems to have fell off the face of the earth. Probably for the better. I should have some time after the new year to finally get back on the project after all this time. Anyway - thats all for now...I'll post again when I have some Dirty Rat updates to show.

Thanks all and Happy Holidays!

They are Motgi Roja's
They went through a name change about year ago...D-9 or something like that. I did a quick search and didn't see them.
Probably discontinued as I bought them about 4 years ago.

CTHC-2 time?? Don't get it...
EDIT- Just got it - Chop Top Home Coming 2... Hmmm, Don't know - my goal is the 25th Anniversary show.

Just a little update - I finally got me a little 10X16 storage shed in the yard to clear out the garage. I did what I swore I wouldn't do - buried my car under a mountain of crap in the garage. The storage shed has helped that.

Test fitted the top to the car - what a friggen nightmare. Pics of the fit will follow...

I have someone who agreed to help me fix B&B's screwups coming down on Tuesday and Wednesday so hopefullty there will be some progress to post soon. Looks like we'll have to basically resculpt the top and make new plugs to recreate a proper fitting top. Guess I'll be a learnin some fiber glassin skilz.

More to come soon...

Rob D.

PS - ARCHIE - If your reading this - I'm going to need a set of rockers for Elviras car in the next couple of weeks. Just a heads up. Don't know if you have them in stock or make them to order anymore.

Thanks!!!

Yeah, I'm reading. Good to hear you're making progress. It's a shame what they did to you but You'll overcome it.

For a long time we were having a hard time keeping up on the rockers but now we've caught up & have a couple sets in stock & we continue to make them to build up more stock.

We now can ship them via UPS because they are now allowing larger packages than they used to allow. So shipping is quick & easy.

Hang in there Rob. I know what it's like to have a car screwed up by somebody that doesn't know what they are doing, (my car was painted by a guy that didn't know what he was doing).

Thanks for the bump guys. I did a little preliminary carnage review on the top and have some pics to post soon. I'm going to start a new thread on the subject when I'm ready to do some work to the car. I had a change in jobs which has me traveling a lot so I don't have the time to work on the car as much as I used to. Thanks for the interest and the bump...

im sure this is in the thread some ware and i missed it but can you get the parts for the targa kit or are they all custom? I know you didn't like how some of it fit but it seams easier to do and possibly cheaper than a t-top?
