I really cant explain how i feel right now......i just feel good now considering all thats happened, i just got word today on the radio that my former high school was used as a shelter and the place had 1300 people in it and they all drowned! The whole school was under water, the water rose and rose, and it slowly filled the entire school they were trapped and couldnt open the doors! (something about they couldnt open the doors because the pressure was not equal on both sides)
And to think my friend 4.9 PFI FIERO was there, but then left to the superdome. (thank GOD) and the school is right around the corner from my house! Its like utter chaos, but from you guys i feel a sense of order.
tomorrow morning im going to the RED CROSS...... ill let you guys know what happens..........
Hey Exotic, im sorry all that has happened in the past week, I would love to help out. I live in Atl as well, anything i can do let me know.even if it as little as going out for lunch my treat thats fine. -Austin

Has anyone heard anything else from Miss Tress? I never did hear if she got out ok.
Last I heard was from jscott. He had been talking to her on a cell (?) phone while she was in her attic. maryjane posted a link to some locating information. If we knew real names, we could find out if they are registered in a shelter. Hmmm......I believe Cliff may be able to provide names from when we registered. I will PM him.

Oh my God, I hadn't heard this, this is horrible...how many others were trapped in rising water? I am really worried about Tress and 007.
As of 8:27pm ET 9/3/2005 a message was posted to a NOLA.com message board from their family in GA looking for them.

Holy **** !! That's another thing very interesting about this. During the sunami event in December, halfway around the world in supposedly less developed countries, we started hearing about the numbers of casualties and how they occurred and where almost immediately, and there has been NONE of that in this tragedy. Most of the officials don't even have a clue of exactly what's occurred and what they're dealing with yet.
Thanks for your insight, Exotic, as sobering as it is, and helping the rest of us who are on the sidelines to better understand. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and everyone in and from the affected areas.

Jscott-what is that to the far left of the 'before Katrina' picture? I'll be posting another list of databases of names as soon as I throw it together. Jscott can maybe help with real names, and at this point, I don't think it will hurt anything to publicly post them. I've searched most-without results, but they are being updated daily. Here's a couple I haven't gone thru yet.
I JUST RECEIVED A MESSAGE FROM KEISHA, (Miss Tress): Safe n NO Hi n dry. Have food & water
This is the best news I have heard in a long time.
That is a railroad track to the left. However they was existing water nearby on the other three sides. After the flood there is water in every direction for miles. My heart sank when I saw this picture:

Maybe pets don't matter to you jackass, but I would never in a million years leave mine behind. They are a part of my family, period.
Thanks for that...it broke me up to see so many people losing everything, but it broke my heart to see that somebody had nurtured and protected their family pet dog for so long, only to have it taken from their arms, and chased away, as they boarded a bus.The poor creature ran after the bus, and could not understand what was happening. It was left to fend for itself.I could never abandon my dogs..I would prefer to stay and take the same chances as my pets, and try everything in my power to help them survive. If anybody has any links to a help centre for abandoned pets, please let me know. I will sell whatever, to be able to donate. Nick

I'm glad you posted this news. After I first viewed the pic I was going to ask if the house had been checked. Now I don't have to.
Good news indeed! Just a suggestion though, in case anyone knows of anyone who may have stayed at home and was flooded and the roof stayed dry that info may be relayed so as to insure the home is checked soon for other survivors. Those of you closer may know to whom to report that information to.
Since you guys are like family now, here is what Keisha (Miss Tress) said:
"Spent 4 days in attic on roof, got picked up by guys in a boat We're fine. Lost everything. Cant call out. Pls call our family & tell them we're okay We're getting on a plane in a bit. I'll let you know where"

Yes, thank God. I gotta run out to the garage and tell Gordo. We've been talking about her this am, sharing our concerns. Thank you so much for the update.
Wonderful, wonderful news...Ironic part.."picked up by some guys in a boat.."..I wonder if those were some of the guys on a News bulletin...a vast line of private citizens, stretching out of sight, all with their boats on trailers, just waiting to be allowed to get in and find people..there are no finer than "Joe and Jolene Public"...and they were being stopped from entering the flooded city:WTF:? Did somebody think they were going to loot Walmart or something???

They are about to start a house to house search. Time is running out for anyone who is awaiting rescue who hasn't had food or water for 7 days. Another reason to have your evacuation and shelter-in-place plans up to date. Conventional wisdom was that you needed 72 hours of supplies. If you live in a flood prone area you might need 7 days worth of supplies.
Glad to hear 007 & Tress are OK. My wife and I have been talking about all of the Forum floks invloved in the NO aftermath. I am awaiting my company's donation match plan and I will be making a contributtion to the Red Cross.
Exotic Rida,
How are you doing on clothes? I may have some 32 x 32 jeans here that I can send you, as well as some t-shirts. If you want them I'll get them out on Tuesday.

It's probably concern for their safety. The emergency workers don't want to let civilian rescuers go in unprepared and then end up having to rescue them as well.

I've just been watching this unfold for the past several days. Haven't really had much to say, and I still don't, other than Thank God for those who made it out safely. Rida, Tress, Zoom, 4.9 and possibly others whom I haven't heard about. We made our contribution to the Red Cross just a while ago. Somehow I feel it still isn't enough, though...
I'm still praying.

There may be lots more since a lot of people don't enter a location in their profile.
Tress and Exotic Rida have already been accounted for. 007=husband of Tress?
We may not hear from the others for weeks, considering they probably won't have computer access. IF we had real names, we could possibly find these people if they have been safely evacuated somewhere, as Tress and her husband were this morning, and get them some help. They are being bussed and now airlifted to the 4 winds. So-Cliff, I'm asking if maybe you can release at least a last name to us so we can try to find them--or at least some of their relatives? Their real names are already plastered on dozens if not hundreds of "looking for/I'm safe" websites already, we just can't correlate them to a PFF username, and it's frustrating as heck. I just got off the phone with another of Miss Tress's cousins in Mississippi who had not gotten the word of their rescue yet. Had jscott1 not pm'd me a last name, I would not have been able to pass the info on to him-I wouldn't have even known it was them he was desperately searching for. There are currently 250 evacuees from New Orleans here in San Angelo, possibly one of our missing members, and I don't have a clue what name to look for. Under the circumstances, I think keepng their last name private is the least of the concerns we or they have.

We can most likely get that from Exotica Ride and Tress since as Cliff said that is not required. Whomever has contact with either, see if you can get some ID information. I think adresses would be good also. We can always try Criss-Cross phone directories.
