We only got 1/2 of the first order, and I just called up there it second should have been there today but has not yet arrived, so I am going up there tomorrow. I just wish we could have got all of the first order in at one time?
Oh ya and the rotors we got are purple in color, sound good? just kidding! ------------------ Bobby from NW Indiana 93 Northstar and 5 speed Getrag 219customs@verizon.net My 86 GT build thread MY 88 Northstar build thread

Just got home from the machine shop and I have good news and some bad! Bad news: He is busy and we are side work for him Good news: His son showed up that also works there and is willing to do the set ups for me and he was waiting for all the rotors to get in before starting but has agreed to start now that he has the standard rotors. The support brackets will be the first thing made. That way as the rotor come in he will drill them and send them. He has also agreed to make up extras so if we have a few other down the road want them we will have them. We are not making alot of extras but there will be a few. So more good news then bad! I will be intouch more soon.
The standard rotors were brought to the machine shop last week and he is going to start on the support brackets, the inner rings are on hold until the cross drilled rotors come in just to be sure the inner dia. is the side so the rings don't need to be pressed in. And they have been shipped from Cali. and should be here in Chicago soon, they will then be brought to the machine shop the next day. The supplier has been very busy and the Chicago dist. has put in his biggest order yet! So we are moving along just a bit slow right now, I guess everyones getting ready for spring right now. I am hoping to be shipping pacakges within 2 weeks. I will let you know when they come in and I will post updates when I get them from the machine shop. His son is a car guy and has offered to help with setups at the shop. Bobby
***UPDATE Tuesday Feb. 1st, 2005*** I just got off the phone with the shipping dept. from where the rotors are coming from. They have been on back order and a shipping date was just posted this afternoon. They showing they should "will" be in Chicago on Monday, and then brought to the machine shop on Tuesday, the machine shop will be called tomorrow and I'm given him an update and see how things are going with him to see if we are looking at anymore delays. I will also post again tomorrow after talking to the machine shop.
And thanks to everyone for understanding this is out of my control. I have been and will continue to push to get these as soon as I can. However, they have been taking care of there larger accounts first. "I have to understand that I guess"? I am sorry for his delay, wish I could have done more to speed this along!
Tell me about it Tim, I am so looking forward to getting this done. Not only to have my own set but have this completed so I can start on some of my other ideas. Infact I desided to put the other projects on hold so I can not only do some of my own work but get my all to this. I have a few supplier for my new projects bugging me about sending out materials. (1) complete aftermarket replacement tail lights (2) replacement carbon fiber mirrors with LED turning signals, power mirrors and non
Again I am sorry for the deley, however something out of my control has delayed this "out of stock rotor", I did find out that alot of GM people are using these rotors for an aftermarket upgrade though!
Going down to the machine shop Thursday to talk to them and see if he can give me an idea of just what is going on and see how busy they have become. I will let you know more soon after.
Things have been a bit busy around here and I am going to be talking with the machine shop tomorrow and I will be passing along what is said then, also I did find out the shop has been very busy but after talking to his son if there is another delay there it will not be much of one. Again I will post more tomorrow.

The place I deal with and I made a trip and went around the guy he was dealing with and has delt with in the past. We talked to the supervisor of the whole company and found that there was alot more troubles with this sales department.
"e-mail me for the full story, and hear how I got this ass of a person fired"
Anyway, long story short....they have been shipped and I have been given a routing number. They will be here in Chicago Saturday, they will be brought out to the shop here in Valparaiso on Monday around noon, if we can get them in time they will be brought to the machine shop that day. The day we get them to the machine shop I will know more on when they will be redrilled and ready to be shipped. The minute I get back from the machine shop with news I will post that new found info. I promise.
WOW I woke up this morning slammed with e-mails of support....almost brought a tear to my eye! Then I remembered I am not a girl and e-mailed eveyone back telling them thanks. haha Anyway, I will update everyone on Monday or Tuesday "as soon as I know more"!
I did confirm today that they were shipped on Friday and we do have a conf. number, it normaly takes 3 to 4 business days to get items from these guys so I hope to see a lot of rotors tomorrow. If not I will go back to shopping and they were told that, I am pushing to have an extended warranty added for our delay but don't get your hopes up.
My engine is getting ready to go together soon, I hope I can have these rotors very soon!!! So the rotors haven't shipped or what up now, Im confused.
Long story short, we have a conf. shipping number we are just waiting for them to get here from Chicago, they should have been here today or tomorrow at te lastest. And yes this sucks, I wish I would have went with a different company but I have always had good luck with these guys and their products. We just had the problem but it should be taken care of now, I would say it has been fixed up I still don't have them so until I do I am going to say we are getting things worked out. Nothing to worry about just yet, trust me! I have also never placed an order with them this large before and they are coming straight from the factory at this point. I will make a post on here tomorrow about mid afternoon with an update, I promise! If anyone has a question or a problem again feel free to ask me!
***GOOD NEWS GOOD NEWS*** They are on there way to the machine shop as I am write this. I will be going to the machine shop tomorrow and will work everything out there and will let you know whats going on afterwards! I will also post picture as soon as I can. Bobby
Tell me about it, I have been pulling my hair out about this. I wasn't able to get intouch with the guy at the machine shop today but will be there first thing Monday morning. I will have everything worked out then and I will pass along the information to you guy.

Our work is depending on 2 project that are before us. There are a few questions he said he needed answered from them before he could give me a somewhat set time. He did say things should really not be much of a problem no matter what does happen with them. He is going to give me a call this week and let me know since I did tell me I have all of you guys waiting and wondering.
I just got back from the machine shop and I have good news. I was told there should not be anymore troubles from here on out! The one thing I do want to pass on is the brackets are getting sent out, his machine is having problems and he has a shop that he works with alot and they are going to do it for us. He has got everything needed to start and will start on redrilling the rotors today. He is going to have his sons start on the rings tonight "this weekend at the latest". I don't want to push him but he does know and understands we are a month behind on this. If the other shop can knock them out we should be shipping them in 2 week, I asked "Can I safely say and tell everyone we will be completely done in a month", He said "That should be easy to do unless we have a major problem and he does see tat happening, or if the other shop would get really busy with one of there major or main accounts".
So I do hope that can put a smile on your guys faces?!?!?! Unless you don't have your other half of the money yet! haha
Here are a few pictures I took from the machine shop: Most of the cross drilled rotors all stacked up
Here is the stack of standard rotors

So is there any pluses or minuses to the cross drilled rotors over the standard rotors? I hear people saying the cross drilled ones have a tendency to crack from the heat and others saying they dont. Is there much of a performance difference in the 2 rotors or is it mainly a appearance issue? I was just curious if anyone else with cross drilled rotors have ever had any trouble. Let me know, I'm still pondering here after seeing those nice cross drilled/sloted ones

Well, not that I am a brake pro....we did look them over when we got them and the friend I made at the machine shop said they looked well done. I didn't buy cheap cross drilled rotors to just get them, I did do my homework and I buy one of the best made cross drilled rotors on the market! Remember I am using the same ones I am using for your guys kits. I have not found or heard anything bad about using these cross drilled rotors, and again I did look into them.
The plus is 1st weight: they are a few lbs. lighter per rotor, 2nd with them having the holes and slots they will cool faster. Driving them on a daily bases under normal driving condition, I don't see a big difference from a standard 12" rotor to a cross drilled 12" rotor. Under rush hour traffic or high speed driving "racing or screwing around" yes it will help.
The biggest plus is it being a 12" rotor itself over the stock Fiero size, more leverage for better braking and a larger area of metal so it will stay cooler to help stop brake fade.

Also guys I do want to remind you of something I posted earlier!!!!!
I have a warranty for the rotors 90 days as of right now. The steel bracket will be covered "replaced" if there is a problem with the steel, if you have a problem and it due to how it was installed...don't yell at me! If it was up to me I would do all of the installs. But that can't happen unless I go all over the country!!! YA RIGHT...
This is a hobby type project so I am not going to be responsIble for anything-anything at all...please understand that!!! I am going to be using the same steel brackets, the same aluminum rings and the same cross drilled rotors as you guys are so I am using the best material and product out there. Nothing was made cheaper for you guys, but stuff happens!
I AM NOT GOING TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS KIT- AND I AM REMOVING MYSELF OF ALL LIABILITY!!!!!
If something does fail I will cover it if its the materials fault. The machine shop has had me sign a contract to remove him of all liability,
This will also be added in every kit shipped, just covering my but guys.
