That sounds like a COPO ordering procedure, but unless you can provide more info, it smells too much like . Sorry, but officailly GM never made a 350 5-speed in the 3rd Gen. You'll have to prove otherwise. Even the 1LE cars that had to be special ordered with specific options were 305 5-speeds.

Think what you want,do some further reaserch before you call b/s.

Take a chill pill. I'm not blasting you. I'm simply saying if you're gonna make a claim that goes against what is commonly accepeted, then you should provide some proof. I'd love to hear about a 350 TPI factory option. It would be a sweet one to collect.
And I'm certainly not going to research other people's claims. If you want people to believe you, you need to be able to back up what you say.
That's interesting. Definitely worth more research. I remember when the 1LE came out, and of course, the 350 was not available with the 5-speed (according to everything I read at the time). If this is real, it's probably the rarest and most valueable 3rd Gen. If you ever see a documented example of an original 350 5-speed 1LE, please let me know.
I'm not calling BS, but I am skeptical. I've been an F-body fan for 25 years, and never once heard about this combo until now. Even one of the links to a story on an 89 1LE says the 5-speed is only available with a 305 and the 350 comes only with the automatic. Definitely worth more research. Let me know if you have any more info on this.

A buddy of mine once owned a Firebird with the 350 & 5-speed. As indicated by the web link, that combination was a special order, which is something my buddy had to do. There weren't many with the 350 & 5-speed - I've only seen a couple, and that's including one my friend owned once upon a time. His was an '88 or '89 - not a bad looking car. He sold the car when it was only 3 or 4 years old. If he had it now, it would have been nice to post some pics. Sorry, guys...
www.gmmginc.net - local company and where i painted my 87 GT (sold) they build hella crazy LS1 LS6 and modular 427cu.in C5 corvettes and Camaros similar to Yenko of the 60s.
just delivered on july 4th.. the first of thier Z06 turbo, 685RWhp at 4psi, 1018RWhp at 19psi. all fits under the stock hood! it's $25k over the cost of the car.
I have to agree, they handle like a pig on roller skates. The car is too heavy, so they make it stiff as hell to cut down body roll. Well, they make it so stiff that you can't hold corners either. My 88 SC used to pull on my brother's 88 mustang GT conv. By third gear he way past me, but he had nothing off the line because he couldn't hook up. Ford hasn't changed their design approach at all in the past few years. The mustang is still a pig with more power than it can put to the road, and horrible cornering.
