I'll miss his build thread. He sure did detailed work.
It's too bad he couldn't just ignore the other forum areas. Kind of like TV channels you are not interested in, like MSNBC or Shopping Network. Just don't go there.
Mind, Blown.
Self moderation is needed for many. Including myself at times. Ok, quite often, but we get the point here.

This is and has always been a self regulating forum. Those that don't like something and expect some third party admin to do all the regulating for them, should leave. If i don't like something enough, I just stay out of it. It's just that simple for me. I'm not saying blooze is wrong, I'm saying he made the right choice for him. His knowledge will be missed.
Jim
But when things do go bad, OT sinks into a cesspool before bobbing back up as a septic tank and then slowly rising to to the level of a sewer system. Before corrections finally happen, it gets pretty bad.

And that has nothing to do with Cliff.
Pretty much describes society in general as well, and any time era.

I don't believe that was the problem exactly. I believe Blooz had difficulty accepting the ugliness often exhibited in O/T showing up in the tech threads as well. I'm sure he would've preferred O/T to be a more pleasant environment (as do I), but considering he spent no time in O/T, I suspect it was the extracurricular nonsense in certain tech threads that turned him off.
I'm very disappointed he's left, and I may not even agree that it was the all round best move, but for him it was the correct choice... and I understand and respect his decision.
T O/T is downright tame compared to other forums I've been reading. Even Tech at RFT gets stupid ugly quick. And who doesn't read the comments on youtube that begin with name calling and insults. We may get a bit surly at times when someone is passionate about a cause or an idea and lashes out at any opposing views, but it's relatively mild in my opinion. I do wish the ratings system would apply by each area. You may get banned in tech but still be able to come in here and cry about it.

Any of the 3 ranching boards I post and read on, ya better have big boy pants on and cinched up tight if you venture into their version of OT--forum owner has even come on and told a few people the same thing, and the women ranchers and farmers are just as apt to hand your butt to you as much as anyone else.

Oh sure, everything is relative. There will always be some person, group or forum that's more inappropriate, gross or disgusting. Doesn't mean we shouldn't aspire to rise above the riff-raff.

One of the forums I was in got so bad that most of us moved it to a new forum, and excluded the 2 members that did nothing but threaten and belittle everyone else. It is sad at times that some of the topics disgust here turn into a name calling penis match, but that's life. Just ignore and move on.
I think this would be a good set of forum rules for Pennocks and the users.

I know I posted this already on another post but I think it is more relevant here, except for the part if your a Canadian.

NAH dont need to shoot everything that moves ...... leavin that up to you USA boys .... your doin a hell of a good job between yourselves
Oddly enough, I've been on the wrong end of a loaded firearm pointed at me before, twice. Once a sawed off shotgun the other a snub nose revolver (think it was a 38). Both times at a Radio Shack I was working at in not the greatest neighborhood of the San Bernardino area of California. Neither time did I end up with a hole in me, so maybe I'm ahead of the curve?

Off topic has not been a very nice place ever since these damn political battles started way before the O/P and his time... Its something you either have to get used to or ignore.
How about this. Not sure if Blooze is watching these posts, but I would say if he did come back, I will not post anymore crap towards or against anybody and only ask (and answer if I can) only truly legitimate questions if I were to have any in the future. Anybody else want to follow suit?
Which others have before. Kind of sad when folks get all butt hurt, delete everything, and disappear. But, once again, it is one's own free will to do so. A lot have left because they did not get a proper response in their own eyes from Cliff. PMing the owner/moderator about an issue of opinion is very much like tattle tailing. "Billy said this!" "Well. Bobby said that!" Wow! Vaginas. Vaginas everywhere.
*no vaginas were physically hurt in the making of this post*
