Sorry for the delays, Had a few health issues to deal with and finally over them. There are still a few fit issues and I'm working on getting them resolved, I have the passenger side completed and am about 60% done on the drivers side, however the car I use for the modifications is currently under 9" of snow from last week and 14"+ more last night and the temp is going to -14 tonight. As soon as the weather breaks I'll finish the changes ( hopefully by this weekend as the weather people are calling for temps in the 40's) The basic patterns for the upholstery covering is all completed, I'll just have to make a few minor corrections when the panels are done
Thanks to everyone for thier patience and understanding Russ
Hey Russ, could you post some pics of the completed panel and your work in process?

The weather didn't break until the week of the 13th, it actually hit the upper 40's for Mon and Tues. I did manage to dig out the Fiero that I'm useing to make the patterns from under 16"+ of snow, and completed the necessay modifications for the drivers side and a did a few tweaks on the passenger side. All the mods are now completed and I'm currently making changes to the larger panels of the kits I have. The smaller panels ( the panel with the arm pull and the armrest itself ) will be sent back to Rob to be remade and he will update his molds with the new changes. I have been in contact with him and he is aware of the changes. I know this has been a long time in the works, but both Rob and myself want to be sure that the product is correct before shipping, again we appreciate everyone.s patience and understanding Russ
Yes they're still active, like Jim ( TXOPIE ) posted above we have been working on them. Rob and I have shipped them back and forth several times ( between us we have a couple hundred dollars in extra cost - but that's our problem ), each time Rob has to redo one of his molds to do a little tweeking. We have been talking by phone, e-mail and pics back and forth along with shipping the panels to be sure these are right I spoke with Rob yesterday and again today and he's working on re-doing one of the mold's - we hope for the last time, and he will do a fit on his car and then send them to me for a fit on my car and then I can upholster
I am excited to see the result also. Rob almost has my dash done and it would be sweet if I can order the doors right away to complete the interior. Getting excited for my end of spring project!
Since I know what is going on...I will share and don't think Rob will mind. And here is the crux of the issue. There were a few other projects that needed to be completed before he could get back to the last adjustment of the panels. Unfortunately the door panels don't pay the bills, but his re-bodies (the other projects) do...so a little more patients please. I just texted him now ...once I get an ETA...I will post shortly!
I spoke with Rob this afternoon and he will be pulling the parts from the new molds tomorrow and then doing the triming on the edges, he hopes to ship them to me around mid-week, so I should have them by the end of the week
That looks awesome! Even the royal blue stitching would be nice where the blue dashed lines are in the pic. My interior isn't black though, and I think the black door skins look the best. The one in this pic is PERFECT! How much would a set just like the one in the picture here cost? With the royal blue stitching as I mentioned above. I have to look back at my interior and see if this would "fit in" color wise though. I also have the non-power drivers side mirror though. Thanks!

These aren't the same ones that Amida is doing though, are they? I thought these were a different door panel that TXopie was involved in? These are nice, but I don't think they match the G1 Dash. Are these the doors panels that Amida (Rob) is doing?
There are two different panels that I have been involved in....Both Rob Amida's G1 panels....which are separate from the ZImmer Quicksilver reproductions that Rob Long (EVM_Rob) & Russ have been working on for me as well for another project.
Both are great options depending how you are finishing out you interior.
Good question. The stock mounting is not used, the armrests are in two sections, the lower part is attached to the main panel in several places from the back and the top of the armrest is then attached to it to add additional strength. I asked the same question and Rob doesn't have an issue the way thier made.
Russ, i went back to the pic you posted and read the post this time - didn't realize you had not attached everything. There must be some trick to it. i was almost thinking that they (zimmer) put on the door panel, then bolted the armrests through the panel with the outside door skin off. This would make everything rock solid but be a PIA. I'm sure someone will come up with the "key" to this or figure it out. Interior panels are usually a bit of Rubik's Cube to me
Whatever it is, it will be well worth the effort. These are a REAL nice upgrade to the "blah" stock fiero interior.

I received the set of door panels from Rob on last Thursday and have worked on them to finish the first set and finialize the upholstery patterns. They were sent out to TXOPIE today.
I asked Rob to make only one set, to be sure that mold was a "good to go" before he put any lost time in producing more. I still do some tweaking on my end
I spoke with Rob today and told him to go ahead with additional panels, his newest panel sets from the last molds he made are very good. I'm still amazed that Rob made these and developed a mold to make additional sets, from just looking at a picture of a Zimmer door panel. He's finishing up a major project, but he will make more and send them to me as quickly as he can
