I had a pretty good disagreement with Jazz about electric cars. He had his ideas and I have mine. I didnt have a problem with him argueing his case against me. I didnt even give him a neg. I reserve my negs for people who are complete jerks to everybody except those in their little clicks (like high schoolers).

But that cuts to the heart of the issue...the guy KNEW he had a problem, and chose to play in O/T-politics *anyway*. He even had the gall to accuse others (or make fun of others) of "mental/brain problems". Holy crap, man, that's like a guy in a wheel chair insulting someone else by saying "you ****ing cripple!". Huh?
First lets start with this being an extremely offensive and not to mention moronic and ignorant post right here.. Now your putting down Aspergers people? Do you even know what it is? Someone with Aspergers is not a "cripple".. People with Aspergers brains just work differently than non-aspergers people.. While many have social skills issues, that usually go away as they grow up. Asperger people are not sick, and are in no way shape or form a "cripple"..
As a Asperger person myself, i take extreme offense to your ignorant comparing of a Aspergers person to a cripple.. And your a prick for doing so..

I like Jazz and always have. Very intelligent, literate, thoughtful, & in MY opinion one of the few unbiased minds here.
And although I realize practically no one else here see's him that way, I can truthfully say I have found others here far more offensive in the way they choose to communicate with their differently opinioned fellow forum members. There is no shortage of rude, disrespectful attacks on others here, and Jazz is not the only or the worst of them. Not by a long shot. He's just the newest head on the chopping block.
I'm guessing he was just testing the limits of "not being moderated". It seems he found it. I'm sorry to see him go, and I wish him well.
P.S. He was 100% right about people changing quotes. When quoting someone, the quote should not be altered.
I agree , I also find it sad that many here that seem to have a problem with his posts and actions apparently couldn't follow their own advice and hit their respective back buttons. Nope, some seemed to pile on the guy who says he has a mental condition!! Hard to understand while at the same time a self described bigot spews incoherent ramblings is still here and often praised for his hate speech.
Oh well, hopefully Jazzman will be healthier and happier not being involved here and maybe some will be more understanding in the future. Either way I wish him and everyone else all the best.

I know you are reading this thread still, you have probably been refreshing it all day long. I also know you had some issues with me, and took many things I said as personal attacks on you. I don't blame you, I do have this habit of "poking bears" as it were, but I never viewed you as a "bad guy". There have also been many things you have pointed out as "attacks" that were never meant as such, and trying to explain that seemed to make matters worse.
I think you should get help, something is really wrong with you, and you are spiraling even further down the rabbit hole. Look back, you weren't like this in the past, this behavior is a recent occurrence, at least at this level. I'm serious. I care about you and think you need to seek help.
In my opinion you are a person who should (after you get better) come back to PFF. You have a powerful past here, and just recently started having problems.
Go, get help, make sure you are OK, none of us want anything to happen to you. Have a Merry Christmas, hug your loved ones. Live Life for a bit.
Love, Brad
Count me into this sentiment too.

You COMPLETELY missed the point. It is NOT about putting down someone with Aspergers. It is about JazzMan implying others have something wrong with their brain ("brain dead" I think it was, or making fun of Reagan's Alzheimer's). That's HYPOCRISY, period. Nothing else was intended.
Edit, add: if you were offended, I apologize. It wasn't intended.

As someone who has been maimed and left with a impairment to my mobility, I also take offense to the pejorative of "cripple". I prefer " gimp".

Cliff, interesting how you lump in cable TV, cell phones, computers, and new cars in the same "don't need" category as the BS which I originally referred to. You make it appear that this BS is perhaps something you "don't need", but enjoy nevertheless.
In regards to who the "we" is that I'm referring to, it would be any member of this forum who is sick and tired of all the BS and political infighting.
JazzMan was no angel, but anyone who's been a member of this forum for the entire duration of his stay here would know that he was pushed, poked, and provoked endlessly due to his left of center beliefs. Judging from several posts in this thread, some people appear to be in acute denial, but there are members of this forum who took great delight in getting JazzMan's goat. No big deal I suppose for the many who didn't share JazzMan's political beliefs, but he was a human being just like you or I, and it was nauseating seeing the way he was treated here over the last eight years or so.
It appears he just couldn't take it anymore... and snapped.
The end result is that this forum, which I believe was conceived to create a resource for the Pontiac Fiero, has lost someone who had a lot to contribute. That's a sad thing, no matter how you choose to look at this whole unfortunate affair.
And no, I'm not a founding member of the JazzMan fan club. I just hate the mob mentality I see demonstrated here on occasion.

Just stating the obvious here... but it's not his views, but in the way he handles the responses from others with respect to his views. That's what makes it the issue. So often, you have a person that doesn't get along with the rest of the group. He or she wonders why that is... in most cases, it's usally that person, not the rest of the group. Humans are pack animals... we stick together.. even people of different views will stick together. Case-in-point... we're all here because we like Fieros. No one here has really singled out JazzMan personally. If there was someone else on here that responds in the same way that JazzMan did, he or she too would be in the same situation. RayB and Neptune... whom I would happily buy a beer and shoot the **** with down in Miami, don't have these issues. They agree with JazzMan on most issues, but don't take things personally. You know, I hate to say it... but it probably has a lot to do with the Aspergers. I am in the software industry, so half my friends have aspergers, comes with the territory. There are varying degrees. JazzMan, God bless him, really needs to learn to not take conversations personally. If someone questions his views, he immediately claims that person is a "liar" and wishes him dead. Can't say I've ever seen anyone respond so harshly to a situation like that.
Some of my absolute best friends are practically socialists... even my wife is a hard-core Democrat. People need to understand that, we all want the same thing, just have a different view of how to go about it. Some people however, don't understand how NOT to take conversations like this personally.

Just as obvious (to me)... if JazzMan had goose-stepped around the forum he wouldn't have received half the abuse that he did.
Yeah yeah, terrible thing to say. Sue me, kick my dog...
It's not goose-stepping... I'm just saying he shouldn't flip out.
When someone calls me a right-winger... I'm just like... "yeah?"
If someone calls him a leftist... he writes 100 lines proving to us that he isn't by saying he liked Nixon.. or Ford (or whatever it was).
He just can't take stuff personally.
What kind of dog do you have? I had a Chessapeak Bay retriever... but we gave her away to my cousin-in-law when we moved up here... next to the Chessapeak Bay... :/

He was making an analogy. He even said the word "like".
Calm down and re-read it, he wasn't attacking at all. Yet you called him a prick?
What is going on in here?
And my wife is permanently disabled. She's a cripple. What is the deal with all this PC stuff anymore, people taking offense to every little thing started the problems this thread is about.

I agree there's to much PC in the world, short of someone blatently calling you something people should chill. Hell I don't get offended when people say that's gay or fag or anything hell I say fag all the time. Matter a fact I seriously have an issue with fags, its ok to be gay but you don't need to tie up traffic letting everyone know about it and making it obscene (have you seen what some of them wear at gay pride rallies?) its actually embarrasing to me. But the moment calls me a fag I warn them then if they do it again I snap, everyone deserves a warning IMO.

I can't answer that question-- I don't attend gay pride rallies.
I don't either but when they have them they are all over tv as if it was a holiday parade. I dunno I just hate it when people try to point out their differences as if other people care

In my opinion Jazz had control issues, he would read something and just couldn't walk away. This may be the best thing for him, he can now redirect some of this energy and move on. We had another member do the same thing and in the end he was begging to get banned so he would stop posting.
Me I can read something and not take it personal, its the internet and we are all different. But there are those that cant and some of them are still on here.
Jazz I hope you can move on, find another outlet and have a good life. You will be missed and I am sorry that it ended like this but find some good and move on.

My main qualm with Jazz was his harping on about things other people did, and then he would turn around and do them. He would constantly ask why someone didn't mark something political, then he would make a political thread and not mark it political. I'd bring this to his attention and get insulted for it with him saying he's changed his stance. Then a week or two later he'd be back at that why didn't you mark this political stuff. I'd bring it to his attention asking if he'd changed his stance again, just to get insulted. I didn't insult him so I don't see why it was neccesary to take swipes at me. I didn't dislike him for it, actually found the hypocrisy rather amussing, like I do with MEM. /shrug, I didn't want to see him banned but as others have said, I think he was trying to get banned. I can't fault Cliff for giving him what he was demonstrating he desired.

Just stating the obvious here... but it's not his views,
i wish that was true, there are several rabid people on here that love to make personal attacks on ones views ( not many, but a few ), and it can have an influence on you if you aren't able to ignore it. If you cant, then you tend to lash out and just make matters worse.

Personally i don't care what people call me. I know what i am, and what i am not and that is all that matters. Their views towards me wont change who i am. I might correct them, 'no i am not xyz, or yes, i am yzx' but don't care if they get it wrong after.
