i also have a video of the tractor being started the first time i dont know how to post the video. if some one could tell me or i could send it to someone to post for me, let me know.
and here is the tractor completely done except for the decals, i wont be able to order them until october 1st due to the shop being closed. but everything else is done. all i can say is that im glad because i am extremely sick of sanding.... but it was alot of fun and now its time to look for another tractor to restore...
Fantastic job, Will...you should be proud of how it turned out. I imagine your great grandfather, and your grandfather would be.
Please post pics when you get all the decals on...I would very much like to see it.
i have a family reunion comming up and i am going to be taking the tractor down to show everyone, as everyone im my family (moms side) has grown up around it. i cant wait for my grandma to see it. i think she will be happy.

She'll take one look at that thing the way it looks now, and be expecting to see your grandpa come walking around the corner---it looks that good. Heck, she may have to pinch herself to make sure she's awake. Awesome job!
thanks for all the great replies, i will be sure to post more pics when i get the decals. restoring this tractor has been fun but it has gotten addicting, i already have my next several projects lined up, the next one is along the same lines as this one. it is an Allis Chalmers C, my other greatgrand dad bought brand new and got passed down. my father has it now and has been trying to restore it for the last 12 years and hasnt touched it in 11 . after that is a Farmall BN and then an International TD6 crawler tractor. i think i might be going crazy... and not to mention i have to find a fiero so i can do my engine swap.....
Excellent job, Will! The decals just put the finishing touch on a VERY nice job of restoring "Little John". I imagine your family reunion is going to be extra special once you pull it out of the shed.

I thought i might give this old thread a BUMP as i have some pics to load of it in action at one of our local plow days. Pics will be on later as i have to DL pip to this computer.
I will try to get some before and after pics of the 8n my brother took from the farm and restored. I have a 2n complete that has huge potential--if I ever get around to it. Need to get over to my sister's and take pics of the JD my brother in law has had for about 40-50 years--it was his father's. My brother in law is in his 70s. Starts by turning a big flywheel on the side.
