I think that's pretty narrow, and don't see it as an either/or. I care. I care enough to want to see parents stop turning their children into whiny little snotbags who think the world owes them everything, and that they should never have to endure any inconvenience, sorrow, or discomfort like the rest of the world. I don't really think sending a child out into the world completely unprepared to handle life's little difficulties is a loving thing to do. To me, love is doing the right thing, not the easy thing. And letting a kid face their own hardships and
learn their own lessons isn't easy, but it's loving.
