Dang Pokey, I scrolled back over the entire page and didn't see one post from you on this. I probably saw whatever you said on another page. Let me say this to you so you don't think I'm picking on Patrick. What I said in my posts, applies to any and all. There, feel better now. I wasn't trying to "bang" on Patrick but, what I have stated I would state to anyone. No flag will fly higher than Ole Glory on our soil. Equivilent heights yes, higher, not if I can stop it.

I'm glad I amuse you you make me laugh too. If you really feel that it is most important to deport the legal and illegal immigrants then I urge you to contact your local police department and other government officials and tell them you have had enough, tell them this land belongs to only you, your friends, your family and anybody else you support and the rest can pack up. I would but you know I suck at demeaning others for my own benefit so I'm just going to put up with being occupied by other countries liquor bars and poor people.

Yes we are entertaining aren't we.:-)

Excuse me, but I have never said anything derogatory about immigrants! only illegal aliens. If this bar owner is an immigrant than he is a total dumbass or a plane old trouble maker or maybe a calculating enemy combatant, I don't know, do you? If he is an illegal alien than he should be given a swift kick in the ass back to where he came from, and I am more than happy to spend my tax dollars to do it.

Sorry to break the news to you BUT this country DOES not belong to the world everyone IS NOT free to come and go as they please.

You certainly have the right to roll over and take it up the wazoo if you are so inclined, this is the USA after all and you do have a right to your opinions and the lack of wanting or spine to take action but on that note you should let others enjoy the benefit of their beliefs and actions as long as they are lawful. Illegal entry into this country is NOT lawful and those that physically support it (more than some moral high ground) should be shunned, humiliated and punished along with the invaders. Aiding and abetting is what it's called.

By the way I have nothing against poor people, I don't know where the hell that one came from. I simply stated that you are blaming people that get ahead for moving to a better area is insane. This aint the movies where these folks will turn around and take pride in their neighborhoods and fixer up and the whole community joins in and sings a song.

Could any one here fathom that the bar owner wasn't aware of the laws regarding flags from other countries and maybe made a mistake? I can see why the owner could have put up the Mexican flag to promote his bar to other Mexicans while then thinking of supporting his love of America so the American flag went up second. Then consider that maybe his English isn't so great and some English speaking person walks up and asks him to take down his flag but since the bar owner doesn't understand English so well they think this guy just wants him to take down the flag to be rude to Mexican immigrants and so the bar owner declines. Then Jim gets angry and comes back with his big knife and cuts it down. Does this situation seem unlikely?

I think we can all agree that it's hard to tell what led up to the video we all watched and all my other thoughts were based on what you consider to be a true American because it would seem that everybody thinks differently on that subject. I see way to many Americans who are quick to judge others though they may not be any better at what they do for there country and it is a sad sight.

How is that an excuse, sorry I don't know how to speak English so the rules don't apply.

Sorry I don't speak Spanish so I will just help you out before the crowd shows up. Better one guy with a knife then 100 guys with rocks.

Geezus, You need to get in my frikken car with your eyes and ears wide open and we'll drive South Omaha. We'll stop and chat with the local shopkeepers. We can even take my Indy and if you're good, I might let you drive the Indy.

I'll guaran-goddamn-tee you that you won't believe some of the sights you see or sound bites hear. Don't worry, I can speak enough Spanish to translate.

I think not! If you move to Japan, Spain, Russia, Norway, You'd expect to learn the language. I see no reason not to expect that of those that desire to be in the US.

I think you're a racist and intolerant of other nations cultures! Not really, but that'll be the bull crap they use to pass a law that requires the US to.

Well now, there's a way to make friends and impress the neighbors. Not really? Hmm.

You didn't respond to my statement so I'll now pose it as a question, "If you move to Japan, Spain, Russia, Norway, would you expect to learn their language, or do you expect the Japanese the Spainish, the Russians and the Norwegians to learn your language? I realize that english is spoken almost worldwide but, it's still a valid question.

As a aviator in the US Army, I was assigned to S. Korea for a short tour of 13 months, while there, I tried to learn Korean, I was in their country. Yes, many spoke english but as I said, I was in their country. I was never able to learn to read their language but, I did make the attempt. If you don't mind, I am interested in the answer to the question.

You know I think I'm to the point where I'm ready to let this one fade away I'll just end by saying that I agree with everybody, your all absolutely right and I will never look at a veteran and or Mexican the same way again. I guess I learned my lesson in true multi cultural stubbornness. Aceman if your completely serious that driving around North O is going to rock my world send me a PM and we can discuss it further for all I know maybe you'll convince me enough to bring along my made in the USA Buck knife and we can lay down some all American law on those renegade flags from other countries.

Poopsmith,
I spent 8 years looking at the 'hood called North Minneapolis. Even with that "experience", you ain't getting me into North Omaha for a joy ride. You won't find any flags flying in North O. You'll find "colors" displayed, but they ain't gonna be on no flag pole.

Now, we'll go tour South Omaha any day of the week.

My g/f is in Nepal for three weeks on a trek. She went out of her way to learn as many of the customs and traditions of the Nepalese, and a few phrases in the language. It was a complete and total pain in the ass. All the way from the way her nails were trimmed and manicured to the clothes she took to wear while trekking and vising the villages to the way they eat and drink. (They don't eat with their left hand, they never let their lips touch a bottle or glass when drinking, etc.) She realizes that she is a visitor in their country, and was willing to go those lengths to respect their culture and way of life. I think the big difference is, they aren't as tolerant of outsiders coming in and disrespecting them. Here in the states, (as long as you aren't a legal citizen ) you can do pretty much whatever you want and it's "OK". Including disrespecting our flag, language, and general way of life.

I wasn't anywhere close to being serious, I was merely making fun of the pro-immigration folks who believe everyone against them is a racist / intolerant of other nations cultures. What about our cultures? Aren't they being intolerant of those by invading and forcing our government to give them citizenship because they can pop out anchor babies?

But to answer it, no way would I expect to go to a foreign country and expect them to learn my language. I'm not saying Americans shouldn't learn Spanish as a language, but the "Press 1 for English" crap is pushing it.

THAT is the point. Protocol is national flag on top, state flag next, personal/corporate/other flags below that.

Yeah, a lot of us wished we could've missed that thread. Todd's comment's were both disgusting and totally unfounded. It was an embarrassment to those of us who value and appreciate this forum that someone/anyone could’ve been treated here in such a despicable manner. Again and again Todd has been asked in several threads to back up those hateful accusations he made about Euterpe. Again and again he refuses to acknowledge these requests.

And now Todd has the unmitigated gall to state that MY words “lack a certain credibility around here”. Unbelievable, just unbelievable...

Really. How hard is it, y'know? There are a few people on here that I just don't like and probably feel the same way about me. And I know full well there's no way they and I are EVER going to have a "civil" conversation//discussion/debate about anything. So when I see them post something stupid, I just say to myself, "wow, that's really stupid" and move on. I know full well it's absolutely pointless to try and convince them of their stupidity. I think some of these guys just like to piss on each other. Maybe they could all get together for a Cleveland Steamer party.... (that just cracks me up)
