"each coin will probably cost about $7.00 + a flat rate shipping/packaging cost of $4.80/address."

If you don't get a custom name you can track it using the internet.

As you all know I am partial to copper but if you all want to go crazy and pay for new edge text we could do the silver and make it a Herritage coin. It would increase the price per coin but it would be really cool

I guess it depends on the price, but if it's only a buck or two more, i'd prefer silver.

If you don't get a custom name you can track it using the internet, there is a chip in them that makes their location trackable.

A chip in them?? Never heard that before....

The new edge text, silver coin, and as a 25 year heritage coin, that would be awesome! How much more do you expect it to be with those additional options?

Sorry, no chip. The only way to track it is if it is used as a geocoin and it must have a tracking number.

The list has been updated with the changes. Please check the accuracy of your order. Thanks. I'll update the list again sometime tomorrow.

As much as my preference is for copper I believe that it would be a shame to miss out on the opportunity to make this run a heritage coin for the 25 anniversary of the car. The coin can only be silver. End of story.

The list has been updated. Please check the accuracy of your request in the list on post #1 of this thread. Thank you!

Edit: I think our edge text should say something like:

25Th Anniversary * Pontiac Fiero * 1984 - 2011 *

If you can come up with something better and most of us like it we will go with it instead.

I think the edge text works just fine, though don't capitalize the T in 25th.

I'm excited! If someone hadn't already taken it, I'd want one of my three to say "25 Years."

That and the small fact that it was an overwhelming majority said that they wanted silver

Copper xxxxxxxxxx
Brass xxxx
Gold x
Silver xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

(I put a x for multiple choices, for instance 1 x for Copper AND 1 x for Silver if someone said something like (I would prefer copper or silver)

I love the idea of a 25th Anniversary coin! But, on the same note, if you put 1984-2011 its gonna seem kinda odd for people reading it, as that is actually 27 years. We know the coin is made in 2011, but maybe it would be better to put the actual years for the 25th 1984 ~ 2009?

Not trying to complicate things, just seems a slight bit off to me is all.

You are right. I will fix that. So what if the coin came out a couple of years too late. We are going to do it anyway. I I'll fix the date and make the "T" a "t".

This will be the edge text: "* 25th Anniversary * Pontiac Fiero * 1984 - 2009"

I have updated the request list. We have 102 coins requested so far. We have enough to proceed to production. I hope to have a price quote from the manufacturer later today. I will let you know the unit price as soon as the information is available to me.

Please verify the accuracy of your order. Thanks to everyone for your input and support of this project.

Irrelevant side note: When I counted to see who wanted each type of metal I considered the quantity of coins ordered by each individual. Each coin ordered got one vote not each person requesting. It is the only fair way since money is involved. Greater input toward the project = greater consideration to help shape it. Figure it out that way if you want to. It would be academic at this point since it no longer matters, but feel free. Somebody probably will anyway.

Since we have enough coins for a production run the deadline for ordering new coins will be July 14, at 10:00 CDT. I will announce payment instructions as soon as I hear back from the manufacturer about cost. Please make sure that your request is listed properly in Post 1 on Page 1 of this thread. Thank you.

Updated. I have received an email from the manufacturer and the coins are going to come in at approx $8 each. I will give you the final price as soon as hear back about our last specification. Have your paypal accounts ready. I could start collecting money as early as tomorrow.

Thanks again for putting this together. Working with GM, setting the design, working with the manufacturer, keeping a bunch of Fieroheads at bay while you keep our orders straight, collecting around a thousand bucks in less than a week's time, paying for the coins, receiving them, checking them for errors, making sure they get separated into the correct piles for the correct buyers, and then mailing out a ton of these things is a Herculean effort. I bought the version 5 coin last cycle and my only regret with the whole process is that I didn't know about these coins until the 5th version. (One day I'll start poking around and see if anyone wants to sell the first 4 to me.)

So...thanks.

You're welcome and thank you for that. ^^^ It is my pleasure.

Good luck with your quest. I wish I had more of the previous coins to sell but I don't. I can only offer coins from the current order. Get them while they're hot. The great thing about these coins is if your don't like it and it is trackable instead of personalized there will always be people who are willing to buy it from you. You can't go wrong unless you miss out on your chance to buy them when they are offered.
