well, we had our first meeting... and lots of nice cars and nice people....
Since there's already a Capital City Fiero Club... we voted on the new name:

Bat City Fieros - Austin Texas (new logo to come shortly)

great turnout for a first meet... we had 10 cars... plus extra people.

here's some pics I took from our first gathering.

here's a picture I took of one of the Fieros at the event that I did some airbrushing/editing to...

and then added a logo to it for good measure....
edited to remove window background junk, logo change, darken, cleanup...

A couple of redo's of th Logo with the new name... it seemed like most liked the blue version.... (personally I prefer the yellow on... but I default to the masses)

the below is very Gotham city.... ha ha

of course... I can have Tshirts/ stickers made up for both versions if people want...

this is a first pass.... feedback appreciated.

Bat City Fiero Club - AWESOME NAME!!!!

i think you should substitute the pegasus in the Fiero logo with a bat symbol.

edit: pumpkincarriage would love the bat theme of your club.

The yellow works better with the "bat" theme, the red looks better for a "Texas" theme.

FYI... for those not from here...
Austin,Tx - home to the largest urban bat colony in the North Ameica
(1.5 million under the downtown Congress bridge alone... and more under the I-35 bridge near Round Rock)

here's the Congress Ave. bat sculpture:

Yes, the fuel pump was the problem. Today's problem was the battery not charging. But the battery and the alt tested good.... I hate wiring problems...

Edit to add, I plan to make every event our cars will get us to.

Awesome meeting! Fantastic turnout!

Wow, peeking out from under my rock - I'm having to figure out how to work Pennock's again!

Thanks to Revin and everyone pitching in to make this a great club!

Here is a logo thought - instead of the capitol dome, how about a bat bridge?

See Ya,

Ken

Stephen, we definately will officially meet on a Saturday probably every two months.
Now, if someone wants to do sort of an impromptu thing we can just e-mail people or post it on here.
I think some of us are going to go to some kind of a show in Round Rock on the 4th of July.

WOW what a great car show!!!! Opps! I mean meeting! haha
So a little drama to start off a meeting huh! A security guard wanted us NOT to have our "Car Show" there in the parking lot. We told him, NOT A SHOW and that we were in the parking lot of the place we reserved a table at for lunch! He then told us that the mang. is the one that reported it. The manager said they did not and we were still sweating our cars being towed off by this rent-a-cop. Finally it all calmed down when the manager went out and ***** slapped him (the shortened story)

I want to thank everyone that came to the very first Bat City Fiero Club ( BCFC) <<sounds like a chicken place! There were 10 Fieros and 15 people!!!
I would like to say that all but two showed up! (1 deployed, 1 not heard from (Pete) talk about a turnout!
Then the surprise....Two form S.A.!! Rob and Richard!! Many thanks to them for the long drive to the meet! Michael you too! Ft Hood. Nice road trip!

I knew everyone personally either in person or through the net. I could see there were interesting people with same interest besides the Fiero (bands and music, kit cars, etc.) so bringing everyone together was a no brainer! I know we will all do go together!

Some of the things that we got done:

Our official meeting, every other month ....(Next meeting Sat Aug. 13th)
Weekend cruise nights- TBA Whenever

Club Logo- As seem above, work in progress

Club shirts- When logo is finalized

Web Site- Batcityfieros.com (we have the domain name! work in progress on the site)

We got a lot of things accomplished. Lots more to talk about! So don't miss a meet..
There was a hint of a pool party next meeting......

One thing I would like to get across, this is a CAR club. We should be using some of these very nice roads around here. So how about this...

We meet at a said place with a 15-30 minute window, and then drive for a few miles on a thought out route and end at an eating place for meeting talks. We will take turns making the routes so you S.Austin Fieros can feel better about the meeting as well as the north east and west fiero owners. Make since?

See ya next time!
Same Bat Channel
Same Bat Place

I would like to invite everyone to Everybody to our meetings! we will be having some cool Austin fun! ( I guess we will have to go see the bats now )

There is a Fridays right there at the bridge in the Radisson Hotel and I believe they will validate parking so we can park in a parking garage. Need to research that though. They also have a patio that has access to a hill leading to the bank of the river that has a view of the bridge. Becca did some research and found this site which says the best months for viewing the bats at the bridge are July, August, and September.

http://www.austin360.com/se...ts/special/bats.html

A few pictures of the bridge.

Marine.... that sounds cool .... I've lived in Austin since 1979, and have never actually sat and watch the bats... though I've seen them in passing on my walks around townlake. Just make sure to get the rent-a-cop's permission in advance. ha ha.

Kevin... driving to the location is cool.... just make sure there are plenty of gas stations between Pflugerville and there.... or I might not make it.

July 4th is the Round Rock Frontiers Day parade. We need to get an approximate head count so I can send in the necessary form (required to reserve enough space for us).

you decorate the cars in patriotic ways... flags, red/white/blue streamers, pinwheels, etc. or just bring a rider waving a flag.
bring lots and lots of cheap candy to throw to the hundreds+ of kiddos(think halloween and get more) - the Tejas Miata club does this parade - and last year I had five 1 lb bags... and ran out well before the end.... so be sure to either have enough or save some back for the kiddos toward the end

the actual parade takes about 20 minutes to drive (slow pace) - but we have to get there early to line up/make decoration adjustments/ take pictures and socialize some.
If you like, we can join the Miatas for lunch afterwards (last year we went to Mighty Fine Hamburgers in Round Rock).

If people email me... and If we have a turnout.... I'll be driving the Fiero for sure... (1st choice) - if I'm alone... I'll be driving the Miata... so please let me know ASAP so I can get the form back.... its only 2 weeks away and the parade officials probably need to know.

Kevin... since you are the elected fearless leader ... and have all the emails... can you copy/paste/forward this on to everyone? pretty please?

BTW... Revin Kevin neglected to mention... he was by a 100% margin elected club president.... be sure to send all money... and complaints to him :P

here is the copy/pasted version of the parade's PDF if anyone is interested in what it says.... and the website is: www.roundrockfrontierdays.com

note... I'll check and see if maybe I can get a "Bat City Fieros" float banner made up, so people know who we are and the older members (like me) don't get lost....
if it's not to expensive -

or maybe one of those large flat magnetic signs... <= BWAH HA HA HA HA!.... <= I crack myself up...

and stick it to my metal head....

i think you should do something like this in this pic, if you had more room to the left so that you could have a Fiero on the road. Then the bats coming from under the bridge flying to the right to form the Bat Fiero emblem.

the other idea was to have a spotlight shining off one of the building to the Bat Fiero emblem for calling The Bat City Fiero Club, i.e. like the did in the movies.

I like either color logos, although I think the capitol building should be in the picture since Austin has the distinction of being the state capitol.
I heard you guys talking about the building that is in the Yellow picture, but to be honest I have lived here a total of about 25 years and I don`t think I have ever seen that building or if it is even in Austin.

ok... perhaps this?

please note that the color smudging (evident in the red area) is a result of the photobucket upload / resizing - it does not exist in the high resolution ones I'm working on and that would get printed.

Keep in mind that the pic will have to go on a shirt or printing someday. Try to keep the colors to a min. The more colors the more the cost.

I like how the logo is evolving!!

Ok the black one is the leader in the clubhouse. My suggestion is to change the fiero logo to the one I made with the bat wings.
