Marine.... that sounds cool .... I've lived in Austin since 1979, and have never actually sat and watch the bats... though I've seen them in passing on my walks around townlake. Just make sure to get the rent-a-cop's permission in advance.

ha ha.
Kevin... driving to the location is cool.... just make sure there are plenty of gas stations between Pflugerville and there.... or I might not make it.

July 4th is the Round Rock Frontiers Day parade. We need to get an approximate head count so I can send in the necessary form (required to reserve enough space for us).
you decorate the cars in patriotic ways... flags, red/white/blue streamers, pinwheels, etc. or just bring a rider waving a flag.
bring lots and lots of cheap candy to throw to the hundreds+ of kiddos(think halloween and get more) - the Tejas Miata club does this parade - and last year I had five 1 lb bags... and ran out well before the end.... so be sure to either have enough or save some back for the kiddos toward the end
the actual parade takes about 20 minutes to drive (slow pace) - but we have to get there early to line up/make decoration adjustments/ take pictures and socialize some.
If you like, we can join the Miatas for lunch afterwards (last year we went to Mighty Fine Hamburgers in Round Rock).
If people email me... and If we have a turnout.... I'll be driving the Fiero for sure... (1st choice) - if I'm alone... I'll be driving the Miata... so please let me know ASAP so I can get the form back.... its only 2 weeks away and the parade officials probably need to know.
Kevin... since you are the elected fearless leader

... and have all the emails... can you copy/paste/forward this on to everyone? pretty please?
BTW... Revin Kevin neglected to mention... he was by a 100% margin elected club president.... be sure to send all money... and complaints to him :P
here is the copy/pasted version of the parade's PDF if anyone is interested in what it says.... and the website is:
